Spectacular views to the East over the foreshore parkland. Out of the lift and across the road and you are on the boardwalk for the lovely walk downtown and to the Marina precinct. Great place to take some time out from the road.

Have to be a bit careful coming in late as you are forced to use a back door which is close to some sketchy short term rentals and some shady characters lurking around. One guy new the code to get in to the foyer but didn't have a key and was very forceful trying to lure me into the lift for a ride up. However the lift will only stop at floors linked into your room key. So glad I didn't get in the lift with this inebriated criminal type. If he rolled me in the lift he would have all my possessions and my car keys.

Loved the ocean views.. Position. Daily room service.. Parking when available... Great spot

The lifts took forever but got there eventually.. Only 1 lift working and Cleaning staff always held the lift. 😡😡

Rooms are clean and easy yo get around, staff on reception were most helpful and went above and beyond to make our stay a great one. I asked for ocean view which our room was more side few of the ocean.

Beds are very uncomfortable hard on your back. Charlie’s restaurant is way over priced, we arrived latex and it was still open so thought we would just eat their easy with the kids. We had 2 Adults 1 x 12yr old, 1 x 5yr old, 1 x 4yr old total cost $100 that’s without drinks. Food selection was terrible suppose to be all you can eat for $40pa $20 child 2 little ones he didn’t charge hardly anything their to eat which was very disappointing. Desert much the same and muffin were horrible. Definitely would not recommend or go back their. .

The breakfast was good value for me and very delicious continental breakfast

They have limited laundry services within the hotel building . We asked around 3 times in the different days if we could do laundry but unfortunately they advised us to wait another hour as that's the same response we heard each time because other tenants took the card, which we believe was the only card access to the laundry area. So we had to find a different laundromat out from the hotel to do our laundry . If they can improve in laundry for more users accessing laundry without everyone having to wait for an hour will be appreciated .

We saw heaps of horrible reviews after we booked, but too late to find somewhere else.. very happy to say we were pleasantly surprised though! From the outside, it looks very run down, but for the price you pay (we had Oceanview) you are only a 20min walk along the esplanade from the main restaurants, the view is great, the beds were comfortable. The staff were great as well!

There was a few of us in different rooms, some didnt have outdoor furniture which was a bit inconvenient. We couldnt use the bath which was sad.

Spacious room with balcony, sea view and hot buffet breakfast that's on the esplanade, has free parking and is a pleasant walk from all you need in Cairns. It's great. Only down side is that it's an old, large hotel that you could say needs modernisation but that was reflected in the price. We would use it again.

I’m not sure if it’s because I have a nice pillow top mattress at home and really good pillows, so maybe it’s not that bad but the bed was ok, not great and the pillows are average. it’s not a 5 star hotel, so it wasn’t that bad for what you pay. I will definitely stay there again I always say you ever need good pillows of a good mattress for a good nights sleep. also they need a drink machine in the lobby that would be good

2 minutes from beach n a nice half hour walk all the way down to Town centre.

1 or 2 members of staff have lack of English so may come across as abrupt n rude tho I don't think they were.. I'd stay again as it didn't seem anything like other comments I've read . Pretty peaceful n relaxing

room was excellent - view was amazing. Beds were so comfortable. room was clean. Watched the planes come and go at night. My Hubby had just had an eye operation so he needed heaps of quiet and lots of rest, this room provided just that.

I was disappointed that there was no face washers or hand towels in the bathroom. Also my Husband has a CPAP machine for breathing, and no power points near the bed he slept in. I didn't think to bring an extension cord.
