Large spacious room. Good starting point to get around Port Douglas.

People were always still load around even late in the evening. It's a hostel still.

We arrived after reception closed but after a short call, the staff arrived to assist with the quick check in. The location near the centre is fantastic. Our air conditioned room with a private balcony was spacious and the bathroom great. There's small gym and pool.

The first night - a Tuesday night - was hellish. I've been in quieter nightclubs I'm not sure whether it was the backpackers' own bar or some other one whose unbearably loudness well into the night. The following two nights were peaceful.

Great place to stay. I stayed there for two months, and I'm coming back for prob two more months. Two kitchens, plenty of space. You meet a lot of people. The location is great. You're near the beach and shops. The pool is also nice. There's a living room with a tv and some books, also a gym.

Sometimes the wifi doesn't work that well.

- Room was spacious. - Hostel had ample washing machines & dryers. - Large, open lounge & airy TV area. - Respectful & quiet enough guests. - Specific area for smokers that guests respected. - Big pool. - Hostel located in a very central location but tucked away nice enough for quiet & privacy.

- The ceiling was really mouldy. - Toilet was very noisy when flushed. - The entire hostel probably needs a good spruce up.

Had my own room at the backpackers' with on-suite bathroom which was nice and provided for. The suite room was more like a hotel with my own coffee and mini-fridge, which was super nice and VERY convenient :) Loved having the smart tv in the room as well.

AC would only let me use the "dry" function, which did help a LOT along with the fan to make sleep more comfy at night but it was still a bit too warm for a good sleep.

Loved how the staff were friendly and helpful. They had discounts to the local pubs and the accommodation was walking distance to the main street. The room was comfy and spacious.

Would have been helpful to have cutlery in the room (e.g. a spoon).

I liked the layout and colour scheme. The bedroom was clean and tidy, the air-conditioning was great, beds were comfy, private ensuite bathroom was large, clean and tidy. The common spaces where useful; the kitchen, gym, laundry, bathrooms, swimming pool. The staff at the service desk was lovely! It was very quiet! Other people were polite.

I would have like a microwave in the kitchen and more resources in the kitchen; tea towel, dish clothes, scourer and sponge, cutlery, utensils, plates, pots, cups. I do think the pots and some of the kitchen resources need replacing. The kitchen was a little messy, other patrons left their scraps and rubbish for staff to clean. I would have even liked a microwave in the room. I would have liked nicer shampoo and conditioner provided. Pool times longer (I finished work @6 so didn’t have time to use it) but I do understand safety and that employees can’t check a pool outside of their hours. The bedrooms with a double and bunks could do with a movable divider wall? (Just an idea). The meal voucher would be better with more flexible (or no) time limit… just during your stay…

Good location, a lot of free parking options around the hostel.

The restroom smells like pee and could be cleaner.

My wife and I booked a private room which was excellent. Very spacious room with strong air conditioning, the bed was comfortable and everything was clean. We enjoyed the pool and used the shared kitchen to cook dinner.

We wanted to order more drinks for happy hour but there was no one at the bar so we gave up.
