An older style of resort, but lovely because of established gardens and the layout of the rooms. Two pools, one in the main area and one in a second back part of the establishment. This one was quieter and nicer for a swim. The room was large and a small balcony meant you could have breakfast outside which was excellent. Everything you needed for a good stay here. The location was excellent too.

The pool at the front was quite hard to get into. No ladder. And maybe a bit deep for children. The laundry was a bit tired but then, I didn't use it since I didn't have coins for the machines. Not many people use coins now. Otherwise, nothing to complain about!

The location is terrific - easy walking distance to all attractions in Port Douglas. The Bali feel is also good.

The studio apartment I was booked into initially was the most poorly designed accommodation I had ever experienced.. However, the staff at Hibiscus Resort found me a 1 bedroom apartment for no additional cost apart from a cleaning fee.

The location and the size of the rooms were great, the pools and the resort itself were gorgeous. Facilities were great for a self-contained stay if that is one's preference.

The bed was quite hard and uncomfortable to sleep on - even my 8 year old found it uncomfortable. The room was dusty in places eg behind bedside tables (when finding phone charger) and on the slats of the sliding inter-room doors - a bit of an annoyance for those with allergies! The addition of safe would be useful too, but not a major issue.

Hibiscus is a very attractive Balinese styled property with great landscaping and a lovely pool. Our two bedroom apartment was large and had all the equipment we would have wished for. It was very close to the town centre, and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The only problem we experienced was due to the cyclone as the water was cut off one day - but we were so glad to be in that beautiful place, that was a minor consideration.

There building itself was not very well sound proofed and we could hear the children rubbing spice the floor and shouting in the next unit. This is not a complaint merely an observation. We were not at the room most of the time as we used the areas countryside to tour around. Beautiful place.

Absolutely beautiful. Balinese style setting. I felt I had died and gone to heaven! The 2 pools were great especially the lap pool, definitely big enough for a good workout, most times I was the only one in pool. Quiet and great location. Room was a good size, comfortable mattress, small fridge and kitchenette. Plenty of covered outside sitting areas near the pools with barbecues provided if needed.

I would have liked some ice cube trays in the freezer or an ice machine on the premises. Also a water jug to put in the fridge to chill water.

I really enjoyed the room we stayed in. We had a one bedroom apartment with a balcony and kitchen which we used heaps. We loved our garden view which gave our balcony some privacy and felt very relaxed in the resort.

We would have liked a sitting area inside for when it was too cold to sit outside- we felt like it was risky eating over the beige sofas. It would have been nice if there was a bar or something near the lap pool as there seemed to be space for it.

Friendly helpful reception staff. Lovely quiet pool and surrounds. Walking distance to main street, Marina, cafes and restaurants and beach. Full size fridge and microwave. Easy on-site undercover parking.

Our one bedroom first floor apartment was adjacent to Mowbray St, and was quite noisy from 5.45am each morning. Kitchenette, although more than adequate, could have been improved with a few more appliances; eg mixing bowls, coffee mugs, storage containers and smaller flat frying pan.

Loved everything about Hibiscus! The staff were friendly, the rooms were huge, the pools were great.

I didn’t like that when you need to do laundry, detergent is not provided for. There should be sachets of detergent provided since we pay for the laundry service.

We loved how tropical and "Bali" it felt. Truly felt like you were in a little bungalow. The pools were both great and the water so refreshing! The rooms themselves were great and enough space that you didn't feel cramped over an extended stay. Jenny at reception went above and beyond for us booking our tours for us taking into account the weather, time to relax, what we wanted to do etc. And so close to the main street without being right on it (which makes this quieter and more relaxing)! I can't imagine staying anywhere else that would have been better this close to town.

The only suggestion I would make is to be very careful in the bathroom after showering. The tile floor got very slippery and the tub/shower was deep enough you had to step out and I did almost have a big fall.
