The Apartment was perfect . Very comfortable .Roomy. Clean . It had everything I needed . It was very well situated right in the middle of the Main Street with all the Shops virtually next door . Even Coles was less than 50 metres away . Yet the Apartment was very quiet .

I got an Apartment which was up 2 sets of steps . For an 82 year old like me it was difficult to carry my Ports up . I could have asked for help , but I managed on my own . This was the only downside . There were a lot of Apartments on the level where this would not have been a problem .

We loved our stay in Macrossan House. The location was right in the centre of town, so we had heaps of great food options at our fingertips. The apartment was spacious for the two of us, with a private balcony area to enjoy the sun. Considering how close we were to town, we had a very quiet stay. The pool was also fantastic and we made use of it every day in our stay. The reception desk was stocked full of great information on tours and attractions, and Jo was happy to provide recommendations for things we could check out. We also ended up hiring a car over our stay, so the underground parking was super handy. We will definitely be returning to Port Douglas and we wouldn’t hesitate to book here again. Hosts were super friendly and helpful. Always happy to help with information and bookings. Rooms were spacious, clean, quiet and comfy and stocked with all the essentials required. Small balcony was ideal for enjoying the tropical garden and drying clothes. Location was perfect. Central to shops, restaurants, wedding venue, beach and walking trails. The pool and BBQ area were both clean and totally adequate. Would recommend highly.

The stay at Macrossan House was great! The apartment is large, spacious, and has everything you need. It's bright, comfortable and right in the center of town where you're close to everything. Jo was wonderful, a very warm person with a fantastic sense of humor, she advised what to do, and where to go, and she was always there when you wanted to talk or needed something or just needed a smile or support :). Garret was also very helpful but most of the interactions I had with Jo. Overall, a person feels at home with them. Thank you for this wonderful stay!! if I could, I would stay with you longer!!!

The property is in a great location, right around the corner from a Cole’s and all the restaurants. The room had everything you needed for a catered stay, big fridge and freezer which was ideal and a lovely view to top it off. Everything was extremely clean, no faults at all, and the room was huge and the bathroom was lovely. The pool was nice for a dip after a long day walking around, especially as you can’t really go swimming in the sea. The owners Jo and Gary are the friendliest people you’ll meet and will go the extra mile to help you! Amazing people and would recommend anyone to stay here.

Absolutely nothing

The location was very central with Coles only five minutes walk away the bonus being you were right in the heart of everything restaurants shopping and do not dismiss the Central Pub excellent food "be hungry". The local market on a Sunday a must and walk down to the jetty and buy your prawns fresh off the trawler. Nothing was a trouble to Jo she was only to pleased to go out of her way to book tours. We liked the lower level and our unit was boutique nicely furnished and comfortable.

The pool was cooler than anticipated. We were comfortably able to swim in our friends pool at their accommodation but got in only once at ours and couldn’t stay in as it was too cold. Fridge door didn’t auto close and we had to check it every time and the front door didn’t auto close and we had to check that too every time we left. Only minor stuff.

Location excellent, close to everywhere. Very comfortable bed , nice unit and very private.

Pool access to deep from the start and to access to the sun bed’s not safe to step from bbq area to the sun beds. Easy to loose control and fall into the swimming pool. Some safety rails join pool and the deck area would be good as there were many older people. Otherwise good. Peaceful and lots of sun.

I absolutely loved my stay in the heart of Port Douglas. My apartment was in in the basement close to the underground parking, which was no problem. I had a cute little balcony where I ate my breakfast in the morning with coffee from the bakery just around the corner. The street is full of restaurants, bars and cafes, supermarket is slso less than 2 min away, to the 4 mile beach it‘s an easy 5 min stroll. When I said at the check-in that I planned to go to the reef the next day, she immediately made a reservation for me. The apartement had a nice ocean theme and comfortable bed.

The underground parking is a bit narrow with a big car. Not a big problem though and it is quite convenient.

Loved the location in the busiest part of the street. And right next door to Coles and a number of restaurants. The one bedroom apartment was surprisingly larger than in the picture and it was a great space and modern. I had a garden view on the ground floor (#3) with a balcony and it was overlooking a lush tropical, quiet garden area. The room had a decent kitchen quite well stocked with plates, cups, glasses etc. Also had a portable two burner stove you could plug in and cook on. There was also a bbq by the pool with oil, paper towel and utensils to cook with. Jo at reception was more than helpful with suggestions and willing to book tours and arrange pickups which I found quite refreshing compared to some places that have no interest in guests aside from taking their room booking. For being in the main street the room was surprisingly quiet and although it was adjacent to another resort, the garden made it very private.

Overall the place is great but I would have to mention that the bed in the room was a bit hard on my back, and there were no fly screens on the balcony doors - had some big black bugs, moths and some mozzies at times even though I had the wooden slat doors pulled across. I thought the pool area could do with some way of getting some shade over the chairs at times - after 12 and into the afternoon it would be difficult to spend quality time there if you wanted a couple hours by the pool (written by a fair skinned sun conscious person :) !) But I would definitely come back again.
