Main reason for our stay was to ride the Shiraz trail, so being at the start of the trail, the location was perfect. Host Neil met us on arrival and was friendly. Welcome bottle of wine and nibbles was great as was the breakfast provisions. Rooms were spacious enough, in particular the bedroom and the bathroom which included a 2 person spa. Bathrobes were a nice touch. Kitchen was well equipped including a coffee machine (capsules).

With the bedroom located at the front of the property, some traffic noise from road could be heard. Maybe be an issue for light sleepers especially late at night and early morning. Also the bed was a little on the soft side for my liking.

Beautifully appointed. Large comfortable bed. Wine and platter on arrival was a wonderful touch after the drive from Melbourne. A very romantic and luxurious experience. Proximity to the beautifully historic Willunga and broader Maclaren Vale wine region was exceptional.

That we had to leave.

Lovely historic cottage, nice furnished and with nice touches of fresh flowers and herbs. A happy hour plate of snacks and bottle of wine greeted us., along with provisions for a hearty breakfast. We were able to walk to fine dining and the town.

Awesome little cottage to hang out in for the week. Perfect location and very comfortable. Great food supplied for us to cook for breakfast, and was nice of Neil to check in to see if we needed anything extra, or towels washed etc during the week.

The bathroom door didn't close properly, and the bathroom fan didn't work. Only thing I would say was missing from the kitchen was some sauce to have with breakfast (eg hot sauce), and some paper towel for cleaning up.

It was absolutely wonderful, love the old heritage feel and smells, with that little bit of Dutch charm and the bed was like sleeping on a cloud, so comfortable, beautiful little slice of heaven. Neil & Chris have done an amazing job with this gem 😊❤️

Very thoughtful hosts with breakfast options provided. The cottage was comfortable with considered decoration. Great location within easy reach of the town’s amenities and it felt very private despite being so conveniently located.

The location and the facilities were really good. Very restful cottage close to everything but far enough away - great soundproofing in the bed room from any noise

Really wasnt anything we didnt like

Neat as a pin; layout of rooms was lovely; tastefully decorated; excellent toiletries that were really great quality; really lovely provisions for breakfast and beverages; thoughtful things like stubby holders and a variety of frying pan sizes; good range of cereal choices; the fire was set and ready to go; parking was easy; gardens were lovely and the fresh posies of flowers in the main rooms was a nice touch; location was an easy stroll from nice eateries and cafes, and a little longer walk to the Willunga Markets.

The exhaust fan in the bathroom did not work; the mattress was really too soft and I felt like I was rolling out of bed most of the night; if there was a footstool in the lounge room that would be a handy addition as the 2 sofas weren't long enough to lie on, and it would discourage people from putting their feet up on the lovely timber table.

I didn’t eat breakfast but it would have been excellent if I had time

Nothing to not like comfortable and convenient for what I was there for being my sons wedding both the ceremony and the reception was at willunga

We loved the cosy feel about the cottage. It was very clean and tidy and well presented. Very special touch with lovely flowers and fresh bread on arrival with afternoon tea and a bottle of wine.

Everything was fine and we loved it all.
