The room was suitable for a short stay. The location was close to the Gardens, the Art Gallery and the Golden Dragon Museum. It was in handy walking distance to a few Restaurants. The street front is a Wine Bar with a HUGE selection of wines ranging from $30 to $1,400 a bottle. The restaurant had an open fireplace which added a colonial atmosphere. The hot mulled wine was a treat at $14 a glass.

There were a number of annoying but minor issues: - the TV was on the wall at the side of the bed which meant a cricked neck when trying to relax and watch it; - our room was on the ground floor next to the stairway to the upper floor rooms - when guests in those upper floor rooms came and went it was very noisy with footsteps on the wooden stairs steps and banging of room doors. - the premises had 6 rooms but only 5 car spaces so there a potential lottery to secure a space - street parking was metered. - the bathroom was very modern but very compact with little room to move.

The location is great. Not right next to the main street but close enough to the city center. The room was good sized with a nice modern bathroom/toilet. The bed was comfortable and the Aircon kept the room cozy during a pretty cold night. The kitchen was equipped with enough appliances, cutlery etc. for our needs. The contact number on the gate and the friendly person on the phone was a great help to us.

Although stated we were disappointed that Sundays the bar and restaurant is not open. The bathroom sink must be close to blocked as it took a very long time to empty. The bathroom door knob was loose and the shaft was the wrong length. Even though there was a small kitchen we were disappointed that there was no table and chairs to dine at

The balcony room #4 was semi quiet. When I book a room this is generally my number one priority. Not only was the kitchenette supplied with all cooking utensils etc, it also had salt and pepper, as well as dishwashing soap, sponges and tea towels, which are all often overlooked, so I appreciated that touch. The bed was immaculately made and somewhat comfy (erring on the hard side). For two nights, in the fabulous location it is set in, I will definitely be booking Allawah Bendigo again in the future. PS, the Wine Bank has wine tasting nights on Wednesdays (I arrived on a Thursday, but this is something interesting of note).

All of the stairs to get to the balcony rooms, especially the last four with no hand rail. The pillows were too soft - no support at all. Other guests on the Friday night were quite loud. I'd like a lamp on both bedside tables. The wifi was not discoverable which wasn't a problem for me as I have a great plan with Amaysim so I did not mention it to staff. The bathroom sink is ridiculous. The faucet hangs well into the basin so it gets in the way of everything and was extremely annoying. The room gets stuffy - couldn't see any windows to crack open, but that could have just been me.

Great location close to Bendigo art gallery and Central Bendigo including view street shops and restaurants. No need to drive after check in. Kitchenette was well stocked with crockery culinary tea coffee etc.

The accomodation was cosy and perfectly fine for a one night stay, however a second chair and small bench/table would have been a good inclusion for a longer stay. Bathroom and kitchenette were a little tight for two people.

The room was small but spotless, and had everything we needed. The location was fantastic, being right in the CBD, within a minutes walk to the beautiful Bendigo gallery and wonderful cafes, restaurants, bars and shops. The price was also very reasonable. The room and bed were cosy and comfortable. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and would absolutely recommend it to family and friends.

Some block-out blinds/curtains would be handy, as quite a bit of light gets into the room in the morning.

Location was great for walking around Bendigo. The room was easy to access, the bed very comfortable and the staff very friendly and helpful. It was great value for money and we will be back again to stay.

It was an older building so soundproofing from other rooms was not great but as you would expect. The bathroom was small but not a big issue for us and more than adequate. Limited parking - 5 spaces for 6 rooms - but we were made aware of this when we checked in.

The location is great, central to everything and yet quiet because it is behind the Wine Bank.. The room was clean, the bed comfortable and the bathroom was well supplied with toiletries. The off street parking was great also.

The only criticism is the placement of the TV in the room. It is situated above the built in desk right beside the bed and that means that you have to lie on your side and crick your neck sideways in order to be able to watch the television. It would be much better if it were mounted on the opposite wall nearer to the coat cupboard, preferably on a swing out arm. Even without the swing out arm, if the TV was mounted on the opposite wall, it would be further away from the bed and wouldn't require as much neck turning in order to view it. We were in maisonette #2. I don't know whether all the rooms have the same configuration. Just a suggestion.

Old world charming. Ours was a quick overnight visit to Bendigo to catch up with a friend. Couldn't have been happier with our choice. Great location, at the rear of the 'Wine Bank on View', which offered great service, food, and a plethora of wine. Consider doing a shop there 🍷 as a convenient one stop for what must offer wine from ALL the regional vineyards and further afield. The maisonette offered a few kitchen essentials so if you were on a business trip and over eating out, or trying to keep to a budget, you could cater a little for yourself, with a table and chair on the verandah.

Love this cosy, compact little maisonette. Everything a solo female traveller could need and right in the middle of the arts district of Bendigo. Was able to walk easily to all the events i had planned as well as the beautiful Rosalind Gardens, Art Gallery, cafe's and restaurants. Now i know of this little gem i dont think i would stay anywhere else when in Bendigo.

Could be a little bit noisy if busy.

Excellent location very close to all the tourist sites, very friendly staff the room everything we required for our short say was very clean and tidy. We ate at the restaurant after enjoying the regular weekly wine tasting which was all very enjoyable and friendly food was excellent.

Parking was very limited at the facility, but we got a park and did not need the car again for our visit as everything was so close.
