Location, modern bathroom decor, friendly staff, flexibility (could leave cases in their care for an hour after checkout), trees outside the double glazed windows, bar fridge & aircon worked well. Lovely tall ceilings.

Grotty entrance laneway (some rubbish amongst leaves), inside stairs need vacuuming, handbasin is only about 70 - 75 cm high, so very low for a tall person to wash their face & clean teeth etc. No bedside lamp on one side of the bed. Needed another chair in the room. Can’t open the windows so no fresh air. Not much space around the basin.

Second time staying here. Located in South Melbourne which is still close by to Melbourne cbd. Tram #12 is right outside the intersection. Basic room and amenities with wifi and small kitchenette, but thats all enough for our 7 days stay. Room is spacious. Cafe, supermarket and market are all within walking distance.

Light sleeper - bring earplugs as you can hear some construction noise in the morning or tram. Not a bad loud noises but you can still hear them. Those who are driving, may be quite a hassle to keep Moving your card during weekdays parking restrictions. But if you are Mostly out and about then no issue.

Quiet at night although at check in, a couple was reporting too much noise on rooftop party venue 2 am. We saw the wedding party. Suggest management cease at 11 pm. Chairs etc stowed next day. Our stay was quiet , nice linens, big room and shower

A continental breakfast would be great. Room had coffee pot and supplies a microwave fridge There cafe”s and dinner options within 3 blocks. Probably staffing issue as checkin window is limited but you can access easily with a code NOTE; entrance is on the side street to left in a cobblestone alley Did not feel unsafe

We had travelled through 3 airports that day. Then Skybus from Melbourne Airport to City, then a tram to the accommodation. The manager & his staff couldn't do enough for us. He upgraded us from a 1Br to a 2Br so we could be on the same floor as our friends. There were 5 of us travelling together. We were going on a 24-day Cruise the next day. In the morning, they looked after our luggage while we went & had a coffee. When we came back, they carried all our suitcases out to the side of the hotel. We were going down to the wharf by a bus taxi. When the taxi arrived, they then helped the driver load all our gear in the bus. They couldn't do enough for us. I would highly recommend The Clarendon Hotel in Clarendon St, South Melbourne to anyone. It is a great place to stay overnight before you go on a cruise as the shipping terminal for our cruise is not far from there. The room was lovely and the staff were so kind and accommodating! The location is perfect - so close to public transport and surrounded by amazing restaurants! Will definitely be staying there again any time we are back in Melbourne!

Honestly can't fault the service at The Clarendon Hotel - they were amazing!

The room was so comfortable! Checkin was also easy with clear instructions even with our late arrival. Our point of contact, Nik, was an excellent host and very easy to communicate with. He generously looked after our suitcase on our last day after checkin so we could explore the city once more before heading to the airport in the afternoon. Overall a very comfortable stay!

There was very loud music from the rooftop bar, particularly on the Friday night. Perhaps because our room was next to the elevator shaft, it was loud - we could hear the music clearly and the thudding bass as well. It seemed to quieten down after 10:30–11pm, but it was very difficult to get to sleep that night!

The hotel reached out to us few days before arrival to organise check in. That’s very useful. Spacious room with small kitchenette. Bathroom was located separately from the room. Location is great, not too far from Melbourne cbd and tram is just outside the door. Plenty of cafes, restaurants, supermarkets nearby within walking distance. Albert park lake is 1.5km walk away. South Melbourne market is 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Nick the staff is courteous and friendly. You will need to inform the staff to request the room being cleaned. We enjoyed our stay here and will definitely come back again.

The hotel offered basic accommodation and amenities. Dont expect 4 or. 5 star hotel service with room service. Some dust in the closet but that does not bother us or affecting our stay. if you are a light sleeper, you might want to bring ear plugs as you can hear light noise from the street.

Excellent staff! They stayed late to help us check in which was so appreciated. Clean room, large room and good value for money. Amazing location. Easy check in and out. Bathroom was massive and shower was spotless. The beds were so comfy! The TV in the room was HUGE.

Location was amazing but does bring it’s negatives, lots of noise and the windows are an older style so not much sound proofing comes from them at all. You can hear everything including the rooftop bar upstairs. That being said it didn’t bother us too much.

The room was amazing we loved how spacious it was, good location and near a lot of food. It was a huge room with a huge shower, bed and plenty of space. There was also a large TV with Netflix, YouTube, and chrome cast. It was super nice and sunny and you could open the windows for a light breeze. Overall 10/10 recommend it's a great place and the staff are very nice. I loved how they came in and restocked and made the bed/cleaned while we were out.

The place is on a busy street so keep in mind it can be noisy. The room was not the most well stocked. It would've been nice to have handwash in the bathroom and paper towels/dishwashing towels. We noticed the room could be a bit cold at night, and it would've been nice to have extra blankets in the cupboard, and we don't think the heat pump was working. I also didn't like how the room service came into our room asking if we wanted room service even with the do not disturb sign on the door.

I love the location! The convenience of supermarket, chemist takeaway etc it’s a 2 minute walk . Tram outside your door to southern cross station, Crown Casino and city centre. The rooms are very comfortable with plush pillows , mattress and good quality bedding ! Huge flat screen tv with access to the internet with all the apps you need . Good size shower with strong hot water too! Ease of check in and out 24 hours! It’s quiet too!

The shower shelf needs fixing as all products slide off. The staff banging on the door at checkout startled me and is not needed. Nothing much to complain about it is somewhere I keep coming back to!
