Second time staying here. Located in South Melbourne which is still close by to Melbourne cbd. Tram #12 is right outside the intersection. Basic room and amenities with wifi and small kitchenette, but thats all enough for our 7 days stay. Room is spacious. Cafe, supermarket and market are all within walking distance.

Light sleeper - bring earplugs as you can hear some construction noise in the morning or tram. Not a bad loud noises but you can still hear them. Those who are driving, may be quite a hassle to keep Moving your card during weekdays parking restrictions. But if you are Mostly out and about then no issue.

The room was lovely and the staff were so kind and accommodating! The location is perfect - so close to public transport and surrounded by amazing restaurants! Will definitely be staying there again any time we are back in Melbourne!

Honestly can't fault the service at The Clarendon Hotel - they were amazing!

The room was so comfortable! Checkin was also easy with clear instructions even with our late arrival. Our point of contact, Nik, was an excellent host and very easy to communicate with. He generously looked after our suitcase on our last day after checkin so we could explore the city once more before heading to the airport in the afternoon. Overall a very comfortable stay!

There was very loud music from the rooftop bar, particularly on the Friday night. Perhaps because our room was next to the elevator shaft, it was loud - we could hear the music clearly and the thudding bass as well. It seemed to quieten down after 10:30–11pm, but it was very difficult to get to sleep that night!

The hotel reached out to us few days before arrival to organise check in. That’s very useful. Spacious room with small kitchenette. Bathroom was located separately from the room. Location is great, not too far from Melbourne cbd and tram is just outside the door. Plenty of cafes, restaurants, supermarkets nearby within walking distance. Albert park lake is 1.5km walk away. South Melbourne market is 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Nick the staff is courteous and friendly. You will need to inform the staff to request the room being cleaned. We enjoyed our stay here and will definitely come back again.

The hotel offered basic accommodation and amenities. Dont expect 4 or. 5 star hotel service with room service. Some dust in the closet but that does not bother us or affecting our stay. if you are a light sleeper, you might want to bring ear plugs as you can hear light noise from the street.

The room was amazing we loved how spacious it was, good location and near a lot of food. It was a huge room with a huge shower, bed and plenty of space. There was also a large TV with Netflix, YouTube, and chrome cast. It was super nice and sunny and you could open the windows for a light breeze. Overall 10/10 recommend it's a great place and the staff are very nice. I loved how they came in and restocked and made the bed/cleaned while we were out.

The place is on a busy street so keep in mind it can be noisy. The room was not the most well stocked. It would've been nice to have handwash in the bathroom and paper towels/dishwashing towels. We noticed the room could be a bit cold at night, and it would've been nice to have extra blankets in the cupboard, and we don't think the heat pump was working. I also didn't like how the room service came into our room asking if we wanted room service even with the do not disturb sign on the door.

I love the location! The convenience of supermarket, chemist takeaway etc it’s a 2 minute walk . Tram outside your door to southern cross station, Crown Casino and city centre. The rooms are very comfortable with plush pillows , mattress and good quality bedding ! Huge flat screen tv with access to the internet with all the apps you need . Good size shower with strong hot water too! Ease of check in and out 24 hours! It’s quiet too!

The shower shelf needs fixing as all products slide off. The staff banging on the door at checkout startled me and is not needed. Nothing much to complain about it is somewhere I keep coming back to!

This hotel was a good stop for me on my job trip: Location was convenient to grocery store 1 and 1/2 blocks away and several restaurants. I also got to walk to the central train station with luggage about 15min away. The tram stopped almost in front of the hotel. The hotel's communication was beyond amazing. They sent me pictures of their front door, the code, etc. Super easy to speak to them and very timely. They allowed us to store our luggage while we waited for our next flight and I felt super safe leaving it there. I walked around the area and I felt very safe. Bathroom was clean. Nice towels. Bed was comfortable but pillows were hard. Lots of restaurants in the area. Very close to the botanical gardens.

Not the hotel's fault but be aware that to get to it from the airport it cost me ($92) by taxi due to $10 of toll roads. The bus from airport would have cost me ($23.99) but then you have to take the tram system. Their reception is only from 10am to 2pm and that can be an issue if you are traveling, those times are restricting. The pillows were really hard. Bring eye shades and ear plugs if you are sensitive when you sleep.

A very large room that was mostly clean and a big comfy-ish bed. The windows opened which was good to get the smell of the cleaning products out of the room. The building itself was lovely and the location was awesome, close to. the South Melbourne Markets, public transport and the city. I would definitely recommend this as an option for those on a budget. We will choose to stay here again.

For those clean freaks out there like me - room wasn't super clean but is was doable and as already mentioned the smell in the room was noticeable but with the windows open and fresh air flowing through the room this was not an issue for more than a few minutes. We left our bags for a few hours after checking out and I felt they weren't really in a safe location - the were where the public could easily access.

The location is excellent with easy walking access to the shops and restaurants of South Melbourne market area. It was clear that the hotel is in a period of transition, I assume having been taken over and in the process of refurbishment. The diy check in process worked well, key in a numbered box with a code sent by email or sms and all the facilities were operational. It was clear that the room would be excellent when completely finished. I was given a deluxe king room which had loads of space and a separate area to prepare food and drinks.

Lack of personal contact when checking in and out seems a bit impersonal but I guess is the way of the future. Sockets for usb would be good for those of us who forget to pack an adapter. Only water in the minibar, and no breakfast available, although with so many outlets along the street that isn’t really an issue.

So much better than expected! Super convenient, comfortable, clean and modern. Fantastic location, restaurant below was fabulous. Free parking from 6pm -8am and paid rates $2.50 during business. I was surprised how comfortable the bed and sofas was and great value for money. Staff were pleasant and prompt and loved the extra check in check out service. After being absolutely exhausted from another rude staff at Sun & Surf Albert Park on Bleakhouse, the warm welcoming from the lovely staff from the Clarendon was absolutely welcoming. Lift access and great restaurants and location a stones throw from Crown Casino.

A full kitchen would have been nice however it had all the basics you needed to make tea, toast, toasties, coffees, sandwiches etc…
