We enjoyed the superb location of our accommodation for the access it gave on foot to the beautiful Melbourne Parks precinct. And the staff at check-in were lovely. While slightly dated, the apartment offered extremely clean and comfortable bedding and bathroom facilities in a quiet setting - which is what matters most, and for this the cost was so very reasonable.

Just a little visual tweaking of the courtyard would improve the aesthetics of the apartment, as it was a generous area to provide additional to our room, yet it was rather bland.

The room was a great size. Only there one night but definitely perfect for a longer stay as it has a full kitchen and lounge area. We were on the 3rd floor and there was very little street noise to be heard. It's a great position - you can walk to Flinders Street in 15 minutes or catch a tram on st Kilda rd. Close enough to south Melbourne to stroll there in 15 - 20 minutes as well. We were also able to leave our car in the carpark for a few more hours after we checked out at no additional charge.

This is not specific to this hotel ...it's all hotels...I just wish they would offer some thin pillows. I know most people love a big fat pillow but please at least one thin pillow would be great

I arrived late on the check in day, and thanks to the the night shift manager waited for me to hand over the key to me. I like the location as it is just next door to my daughter's apartment especially we are visiting her on this trip. Food are easily accessible cause there are plenty of good cafés & restaurants within walking distance. Room are decently clean except some dust in the wardrobe. Kitchen is fully equipped with cooking utensils and tableware. Room is very spacious for a single bedroom apartment.

The mattress is soft and not comfortable, also lots of quaking sounds when you have movement on the bed.

Staff member who checked us in was lovely, rooms were clean but a little dated, had everything we needed though.

Shower in bath was a little difficult, would recommend getting a second bathroom if you have older people travelling with you. Location would have been great if trams were running on St Kilda road but they were closed for works. Had trouble with pre booked taxi and also Uber cancelling on us last minute to take us to an important event as it was not a big enough fare to get into the city, not the hotels fault at all. At 6am in the morning reception was not open to be able to get some help when we were stuck, area is so quiet so had to walk closer to town to flag a taxi.

Location brilliant - just across the road from Shrine of Remembrance, short walk to Sidney Myer Music Bowl (where I attended a concert) and very close to trams. Exceptionally clean, very large apartment with everything you need (including its own laundry and private outdoor area)! Very friendly and helpful staff.

Need to climb into bath to have a shower therefore not suitable for people with mobility issues. Would have been good to have a washcloth to use in shower.

My husband and I had the most enjoyable time at Quest on Dorcas. Very quiet with green views across the park, but still only a quick 1klm walk to Flinders Street station through the arts district (but trams located only a block away). The staff were amazing! They were very kind and accommodating. We cannot recommend quest enough and know we will be back. P.s, staff deserve a mega Christmas bonus. Could not rate them higher!

The one bedroom apartment was a good size and was very comfortable for two guests. We asked for a room in a quiet location and the room we got was in a nice quiet location, great to get good rest. Room was nice and clean and had everything we needed. Location was great - close to tram lines or about 20 minutes walk to the CBD. Staff were all friendly and helpful.

The shower wasn't the best but it was okay for a short stay.

The hotel is ideally situated for spending time in Melbourne, close to St Kilda Rd with it's many tram stops just outside your door. (No traffic noise though, another good thing.) It's a comfortable 20 minute walk if you feel like it to the edge of the CBD. The room was well equipped with everything you need. Everything worked as it should. We stayed on the St Kilda Rd side on the 9th floor so we had a "view" of the Shrine of Remembrance, so anything above this floor would offer better views. There are a few supermarket/deli's nearby that provide the basic supplies and some of the bigger supermarkets a few extra minutes walk away next to some reasonable cafes and eateries.

As mentioned, we stayed on the 9th floor so it took a couple of minutes (yes minutes) for hot water to reach the shower nozzle or sink taps. Very wasteful. Also, the toilet cistern tended to dribble for quite some time after use. At night this could be irritating. We contacted the very helpful reception staff who sent someone to try to fix it, promptly. Unfortunately, the problem still occurred but we just lifted the cistern lid and lifted the float until it sealed properly. Perhaps it's being looked at after we left as it probably requires more than a simple fix. Also, would it be possible to have two bins for any waste, one for general trash (foodscraps, etc) and one for recyclables (packaging, bottles etc).

The location was excellent. My only concern was that there was no shuttle bus from the airport. in the description of the hotel, it was stated that there was a shuttle bus. As an elderly couple we found this quite confronting to have to catch a bus into town then a taxi to the Dorcas. Having waited for a taxi for two hours at Southern Station to be only a short distance from the hotel we were somewhat surprised.

Spacious apartment, well equipped kitchen, comfortable bed, good location, quiet spot with tram stop just around the corner. 5 minutes walk to the Botanic Gardens, perfect for a morning walk.

It felt as if the operating panel in the lift was about to fall off.... luckily it didn't. I do feel embarrassed if for 5 days someone changes my towel every day. That is really not necessary and it would be good to have the question asked if you really want that. For the whole hotel that could save a lot of water and energy!
