Room was nice, plenty of amenities for longer term stays, beds very comfortable, showers worked well with good water pressure and plenty of hot water. Location was great, close to river front, easy to walk to town or to a free tram. IGA close by. Staff was accommodating and waived a late check out fee when we checked out late due to one of my family member's having a physical ailment during the trip.

Room was a little smaller than appeared in the pictures. TV system is quite antiquated. There was an incident in the building that brought out a heavy police presence and that prevented us from getting into the room at midnight after a long day trip, but that is not representative of the staff or the hotel in my opinion and outside of their control.

Rented this hotel last minutes for 11/2 day visit to Melbourne. Nice facility. Had a great view from the 27th floor. Hotel is located 500 m from the (central business district (CBD) which was very close to many attractions, bus, trains, shopping, dining etc. Located about 3-5 minutes from Yarra river. I ordered breakfast and that was delivered on time. Staff were very friendly and willing to help answer question on how to get around the city. Would def stay here again.

Although I didnt cook, I Would have love to see a salt or pepper shaker in the kitchen. I think that should be a standard.

Location,location, location. Walking distance of theatres, transport and eateries. Express shopping outlet just 100 metres from the front door.

Wi-Fi not secure so didn't use. Lack of egg slice, kitchen sink plug didn't hold water. No instructions on driving dishwasher. Compendium needs updating regarding what tv channels you can actually access. The shower door bottom allows water to under it ( by capillary action ). I will remedy for this next time I stay. I handles on the vanity unit were a little sharp, requiring a band-aid or two.

24hr reception was great. Room was entirely self contained, kitchen available. Bathrooms were clean, and everything had clearly been well kept. Would definitely recommend!

I wish getting access to the garage was easier - we needed to park to collect the keys, and didn't want to move the car afterwards because it was late and had to settle for a paid spot, and the parking we settled for, for the weekend was cheaper than what was offered anyway, which seems backwards. I would've expected the parking to be either included or a nominal extra in the booking, and there to be a way in to the space to make check in easier.

The professionalism of all staff. The cleanliness of the motel. The suite that we were in was amazing.

The restaurant that provides room service. We ordered dinner and when we received the food it was inedible. We had to throw it in the bin. We let reception know on chekout. They were exceptionally helpful and tried to get us some sort of discount. The restaurant refused as we never complained the night before. I told reception that was fine but the Oaks company needs to find another restaurant that will cater. For the price we paid we certainly expected better. But this is by no means a reflection of the motel.

Perfect location to explore Melbourne - Southbank restaurants right on your doorstep, and only a short walk to get to Flinders St Station and the centre of town. The apartment itself was nice and spacious, perfect for a few nights with 3 of us. We also had a great view staying on the 16th floor. Would definitely stay here again the next time we are in Melbourne!

Give yourself a bit of extra time when leaving the apartment as there are only 2 lifts servicing 34 floors - it may take awhile to get to the lobby if you're staying high up!

Location was excellent, the apartment was modern, comfortable, well equipped and quiet with a view to the East of the City. We liked not needing to have room service as we were only there for a few days and find it unnecessary. Staff members were helpful and courteous. 7-11 close by for any snacks and provisions.

Credit card fee was extortionate ($40NZD). Other minor observations - the shower leaked a little bit and we had to ask for toiletries/coffee/milk from reception rather than there being sufficient for our stay.

Received a message to say I was blacklisted from all Oaks Apartments. Was a person with exactly the same name as mine. Received this message on the day I booked in. More checking should have been done to confirm mobile number, address etc. they did apologise after I pointed out the phone message but I don’t think they got how upsetting it was to receive this recorded message on your phone on your arrival day. Also no sink plug and we had to wash oven tray before we could put food on it to cook.

generous room sizes. full kitchen. patio we could walk out onto - though the door seals aren't 100% and a cold draught always comes through them, even when they're closed. Probably much better in summer, as opposed to August wintery chill!

maintenance within the particular unit # 1702. Main Bedroom window latch was broken and ajar and very cold because we couldn't shut it ; they did fix it for the 2nd and 3rd nights. We asked the reception did they have a Maintenance Sheet; they don't but you need one! We advised them the kitchen door covering the fridge was coming off it's hinges; that the bedside light alongside main bed was not working; 2nd hairdryer not working; carpets need cleaning. Beds would be better with a mattress cover that was more generous and cloud-like! Hence, not a 5* experience. I did not appreciate Booking.com charging me an international fee after the price was quoted and accepted. Reception at The Oaks could not help rectify this
