The accommodation is very close to the tram station and the bed is very suitable for private relaxation. Needless to say that all of the staff were friendly.
Any inconvenience I experienced was due to other guests. Perhaps they are backpackers living there for a long time. They had no respect for anyone else's time. Unfortunately, the facilities in the hostel are old and I had to lie on the bed and listen to them stomp and slam doors all night long. In fact, I should have run away from there on the first day after seeing other people's stuff are like lubbish strewn on the floor. However, since I only slept in the hostel, I managed to bear it.

Staff were awesome. Good room.
Only thing I can fault is the banging of doors at night which s to be expected. If the doors could shut with less noise that would be great.

The room and the whole vibe of the hostel is really nice. Private rooms are big and everything is new. Staff is friendly and the coffee and breakfast is really good. Even though the area where Selina is located was rough in the past, I felt really secure at the hostel. Beach and restaurants right around the corner.
The staff is very friendly and accommodating but very young and therefore the service is not super professional. Everyone needs to check in via downloading an app, inconvenient and did not experience that in other Selina hostels we stayed at. There is no dedicated luggage storage room so whole hall is packed with (unattended) luggage.

The hostel was genuinely the best I have been to in Melbourne . I have traveled a lot and the standard here does stand out better than hotels . Suited me perfectly for work . Merit & Naomi at the reception are exceptional . Great folk and they both do really care about the tenants and the hostel. Emily - keeps the spirit going with her nights & Alex is a top block suiting his bartender position . I have met a couple of decent humans there also !
Not every one I spoke to had been up to my human interaction standards but that is out of the hostels control .

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Really nice set out of the hostel rooms were nice with curtains across the bed and charges in the bed, they have a coffee shop within the hostel which was nice. You can get anything out of the breakfast bar and a coffee for $9, nice little rooftop
In the 12 bed dorms, my friend was staying in one room and I was staying in the other. I drew the short straw as I had a smaller room, even though there was still 12 beds in there. It wasn’t an issue, but I’d say if booking for hostel requests at the check-in preferably if you can have the larger room so this small space

The Selina building itself stands out from the other buildings at Grey street. My friend and I easily spotted the mint green building and art mural on the side of the building. It’s giving tropical Bali vibes. Stepping into the Lobby area is like stepping into a tropical oasis with a mixture of modern artwork in the dining rooms. The property is located so conveniently within walking distance to the beach, tram stops, convenience stores, metro Woolies, ALDI. The property is so beautiful in this way. I also love the convenience of the tiny corner cafe serving hot beverages and the tiny store. The WC and bathrooms are tidy. The kitchen is well organised and tidy. The beds are so comfortable. But most of all, it’s the people who are Selina. From AJ and his lovely team at the Front Desk, Felipe and friendly Team at Housekeeping, our fellow guests who enjoy Welcome Drinks, Margarita Mondays and dancing along at the Bar, or movies at the community lounge or participating by voting at the funny, weird questions posted on the Selina WhatsApp Group Chat. The people who make Selina feel like home away from home is what I like about this property the most.
The property could use another comfy lounge to accommodate guests while enjoying a movie together. We were all squeezing into each other and giggling while enjoying movies and snacks. I prefer not to be someone’s pillow or couch cushion please.

The bed and room were great, super comfortable and clean. The showers are a bit uncomfortable in terms of space, however, great water pressure and soap available. Awesome staff and activities programmed. There is always a great vibe and everyone is extremely friendly. It's not a quiet hostel, which can be a positive or a negative thing, depending on what each one is looking for.
There wasn't enough space (in the 8 people bedroom) for everyone's things and there wasn't a storage room for luggage. The space reserved to keep the bikes was small and really uncomfortable so it was better to just leave the bike locked in the street. The kitchen was a bit dirty and really messy. The space provided both outside and inside of the fridge is clearly not enough to keep everyone's things. However those things, I loved my time at Selina, the things that I mention above are just to help the hostel improve (is everything I could think of that wasn't great) but, as I said, great place to stay, I would 100% go again.

Had an issue as I forgot to bring my physical debit card as per hostel policy but thank you to Naomi for sorting this out with management and upgrading my room on top of this which was awesome!! Appreciate it. Room was comfortable and happy with stay overall. No laundry onsite but it's a short walk to nearest laundromat. Close to trams and shops.
Showers/bathrooms could do with some maintenance as it seems a bit run down and some with patch-up jobs using spare wood etc in parts. Other than that, place is decent.

Thank you to the Roamer St Kilda hostel and the entire team who work there. A special thanks to Marit and Anna. I was warmly welcomed, and I loved the many activities offered to socialize and meet new people. The hostel is in a perfect location, and I had a beautiful private room. I also really enjoyed the terrace with the bar! I highly recommend this place, and I will definitely come back. Thank you to the whole Roamer St Kilda team! Adam Farid B.

It was quiet and clean
The shower head is broken and sprayed everywhere. There were no batteries in the split system remote.
