We liked the later check in options as we were travelling with older cars that tend to need a few more pit stops which makes it a little harder to predict arrival times. The rooms were very clean and quiet roomy. We were surprised at how vintage but cosy the décor was, it was like visiting your nan's place. That being said, everything was in perfect condition. The location was great and very quiet, no road noise at all. The manager was happy to help out with info on where to get a meal too. The shower was great, lots of pressure for a good soaking hot shower before bed. In the daylight we saw a swimming pool and BBQ area, so would be a great staging area for a group of travellers.

The only thing I found that I didn't really like was how firm the mattress was. Nothing wrong with the mattress, it was just to firm for me. Minimal toiletries, but enough for a hot shower so that was good.

I was very pleasantly surprised with the Motel, booked it and didn't expect much and we'd just arrived after a 100km gravel ride from Bairnsdale - so a little tired and in need of a shower and the rooms are very good. Quite large, pillows better than most motels and the shower fabulous (see comment about riding - in heaven). Small touches very good including a retractable clothes line in the bathroom (as we were washing our cycling kit) plus a very good heater (that I mainly used to dry said cycling kit before a 6am start). It was fully booked but very quiet in the evening. And Orbost is a lovely town - exceeded expectations.

Don't get confused with the 'Country Man' hotel down the road - almost same name, very different motels!! Not located right in town, but a short walk from the Club where we had a decent dinner. No issue if you've got a car - we were on foot.

We were using this as a transit stop over christmas. The room was a typical 1970's motel room. the beds were comfortable and the room was clean. The kitchen facilities almost adequate. It had a microwave, good size fridge, jug and toaster.

There was a lack of crockery and utensils. There were plenty of cups and glasses.

The room was a little dated but we like that!! Plenty of space, nice chairs, confortable bed, lots of room to spread out. What more do you want for one night? The bathroom was great - nice long bench for our things, and the tap was high so we could fit the kettle underneath it for filling. The other thing that the manager provided was a squeegee to clean our windscreen - so thoughtful!

It had a kind of rustic unpretentious charm about it while at the same time offering considerable comfort. Single room (with ensuite) contained a large comfortable bed along with comfortable chairs and even a bench at which to work on (or table). During my visit to Orbost itself, hospitality or assistance was not found in abundance, when visiting, so this place was like a little haven. The bathroom was of a good size.

Clean and comfy. Everything worked. Decent heater (dropped to 2C the night I was there) This place is old school... no big square candles or dried flowers. But perfect for breaking up a road trip along the VIC/NSW coast. 5/10 min walk to the high street for a coffee/beer. Can highly recommend Bertie's burgers for dinner!

Room was clean and comfortable.

Room smelled a bit musty on arrival but was fine after it was aired out. They did not provide any plates or bowls or forks/knives to eat in (cups/saucers/mugs/teaspoons for tea/coffee were provided). Did not provide any low-cal sweeteners - only sugar.

everything was set out as expected and it was well kept

the entry is confusing and cars arriving do block cars trying to leave when checking in. obviously the current owners are leaving and are over dealing with common complaints. Yet, to finish on a positive note, are very accommodating of everyone. Even if they mightn’t seem to be.

Booked on line and got there 5 minutes later. The owner / manager seemed a bit grumpy but that was due to his computer. Room was clean. Manager was extremely helpful later when needed plates and forks etc.

The only thing stopping me from giving a 10 out of 10 was no couch in room. Otherwise I would highly recommend this place.

Smart TV with Netflix and youtube that actually worked properly without having to buffer every 2 minutes

Wifi requires an access login and password from reception. While its free its a bother having to go back once youre in your room, especially after a long day
