This was my second visit in this hotel. In reviews there are a lot of negative comments concerning the outdated interior of the rooms, but didn't find it an issue. My room was cosy, clean and well equipped. The style is very fascinatingly traditional, and I like the way they maintain it. The staff are kind and polite and do their work very well. Breakfast was delicious every morning: I appreciate that they focus on quality instead of quantity. Everything was fresh and of good quality. I had one dinner and once drinks in the restaurant, and both food and service were excellent.

Some minor issues with cleaning, for example had to ask for more toilet paper, and the toiletries were not restocked every day.

During our recent stay at the charming Barsey hotel, I was pleasantly surprised by the exceptional level of service and comfort provided. From the moment we arrived, Receptionist Elena set the tone for our stay with her warm welcome and genuine hospitality. Her willingness to go above and beyond to assist us throughout our visit truly made a positive impression. The first thing that caught my attention as we entered our room was the impeccable cleanliness and tidiness. The attention to detail was evident in every corner of the room. The decor exuded a subtle yet captivating medieval touch, which added a unique and inviting ambiance to the space. The combination of modern amenities with this distinct historical charm created an atmosphere of luxury and relaxation that was truly unparalleled. The rooms themselves were spacious and thoughtfully designed to cater to the needs of every guest. The comfortable beds ensured a restful night's sleep, and the well-appointed furnishings added an extra layer of convenience. It was clear that the hotel's management took great care in ensuring that the rooms were not only aesthetically pleasing, but also functional and comfortable. What truly set this hotel apart, however, was the exceptional service staff. Throughout our stay, the service staff demonstrated a level of attentiveness and support that went above and beyond our expectations. From providing insightful recommendations about local attractions to promptly addressing any requests or inquiries we had, their dedication to ensuring a memorable experience for guests was truly commendable. The hotel's commitment to guest satisfaction extended beyond the confines of our room. The dining experience was a testament to the hotel's dedication to providing a well-rounded and enjoyable stay. The on-site restaurant offered a delectable array of culinary delights that catered to a variety of palates.

The hotel was very clean , the staff very helpful

The restaurant staff are not professional in providing the service. I went to the restaurant to take a cup of coffee they bring it to me after 30min waiting and when I finish I went to the restaurant reception to pay they told me please set and we will come to your table and they let me wait for 20 min just to pay for Cup of coffee so to drink cup of coffee I lost 50min why I need to wait all this time for just a cup of coffee. Their was 3 staff in the restaurant at that time 2 ladies and 1 man and they look that each one of them need to push the other to take the orders from the tables and this is unprofessional attitude 🙄

Location could not have been more perfect, short tram rides to the 'tourist' areas as well as central Brussels, walking distances to some of the nicest shopping and restaurant locations as well as accessible transport links to other areas of the city. The room/suite was great, spacious, cool on a few particularly hot days, balcony access with great city views and the bed was comfortable, especially in my case as I am not a short man.

Some of the aspects of the suite need modernised, I could see this was being done in other areas of the hotel, their corporate suites, conference rooms and dining rooms were in excellent condition, however we had a couple of issues with the shower not draining very quickly, a few loose/unsafe looking electrical outlets and the WC did not lock (also at the time seemed to have an issue with the WC sink, it's mains water stopper was closed because of a broken washer on the tap that caused it to constantly run, an easy fix but we made do.) Only thing to note on the location is if you are on the East facing side you will hear the rumble of trams, though you get used to it quickly.

The staff were very kind and helpful, as we were in the city for a family emergency and weren't sure how long we needed to stay. The room was very spacious, and included a small fridge as well as a safe, a large wardrobe, and both a bath and a large separate shower. Nice views from the windows too. We liked the decor - quite different, even if a little dated in parts.

The wifi was pretty slow, and the bar is pricey - 8 euros for a mint tea! We went elsewhere for food and drink.

In 30 years of traveling around the world, I must say this was "the perfect stay"! I love this hotel for more than 6 years now, but this time was simply exceptional. To put it simple: Bertrand is the best manager this hotel can dream of. Thank you for that... it would need a book to give details on his professionalism. A real gentleman. Chef Nicholas and his assistant Jean Marc are going to take care not only of delivering an amazing food, amazing dishes, but are also the kind of humans this earth should be filled with. I might one day call them friends. The public is also nice, quiet, well educated, the kind you wish to meet. About the hotel, some would say it is old... so what? It is charming, it is professional, food is great, location is perfect, what do you need more?

The Staffs were so lovely. Especially the receptionist, Elena. She tried to upgrade us as we are on our honeymoon but unfortunately she couldn't as the hotel was full. The fact she tried made us feel very special. Extremely comfy beds.

The rooms were quite old looking and toilet was not clean when we arrived. However, when we informed to the staffs, they immediately got it cleaned. Pillows are quite old so it was not firm which hurt the neck a little bit but not a big deal

The hotel is very well located and the staff is super kind and helpful. The suits are very comfortable and the common areas are also good

The suits have some maintenance problems. The first one I checked in had a leak coming from the ceiling and a small hole in the bathroom wall. When I complained about the leaking the staff tried to solve it but as it was not possible we changed rooms and the new was perfectly fine.

Absolutely kind team, dog-friendly and a good location for us: nearby a Park and walking Distance to the city forrest andother nice places. Tram Station right un front of the hotel made it easy reach the city centre. Clean and comfy rooms with separate bathroom and toilet. Parking available at a very reasonable price!

The Tram and the big road in Front of the hotel had its downside regarding the noise. The elevator was pretty small - but always fast.

I am repeating myself since the Barsey is the only hotel I stay in Brussels. If you like IKEA style hotel, this one is not for you. The style here is part of the experience. But the most important is the staff. They are doing everything to make your stay a perfect one. You could very well meet famous artists there also. But again, the real artists here are the team, the "boss" Bertrand, and, of course, the Chefs Nicholas and Jean-Marc - not only chefs, but amazing humans! Thank you all for these amazing experiences.
