Situated in a quiet street very close to the main square and Menin Gate. The hotel is a lovely traditional looking building but very modern when you go inside. Very large and comfortable bed. Breakfast was ok, nice bread and fresh juice

Although the hotel is mostly modern in the public areas, we were disappointed to find ourselves in a very old fashioned room which was freezing when we arrived but we turned the radiators on and it was warm when we got back in the evening. The shower was lacking in power sadly. Breakfast was ok but the scrambled eggs were somewhat overcooked and the butter was kept too cold to be used when you picked it up from the buffet

Absolutely perfect 👌 Easy to find. Just a 5 minute walk to the Menin Gate and 2 minutes to the centre. Excellent secure parking, especially for motorcycles with no gravel, no slopes and no tight turns. Hotel was very clean and spacious with a bar in, although we did not use this. There is a lift so suitable for less able people (as I myself am). Our room had a shower, and again, this was perfect for us. Our room had a mini fridge as well as a kettle with tea and coffee supplies, always good to have for when you get back to your room. Breakfast was served in the very large and bright breakfast room. Everything is thought of as when the sun started to dazzle, the lovely breakfast lady spotted this straight away and lowered a large electric blind. There was a very large selection: cereals, pastries, cold meats and cheese, fruit, yoghurt, and a hot plate with scrambled egg and bacon. Coffee was from a machine with as many refills as required. You could even have breakfast on the terrace if you wished. All the staff we met were very friendly and welcoming, offering local information and answering any questions. Overall, we really couldn’t fault this lovely hotel and hope to return one day. Excellent value for money, especially considering where it is located. Thank you all for helping to make our visit to Ypres so memorable.

From arriving to leaving the staff were professional, knowledgeable and very pleasant. We have stayed before and this time we had an upgraded room which in the future we will defo opt for. I have traveled for years and have to say the room had the most powerful shower I have ever encountered = FANTASTIC! One other point there is a private bike/motorbike parking garage - something I have not noticed until this visit. I have to mention the private car-park is easy and security barrier controlled.

Bar prices were high - but probably the City's going rates.

I feel I stumbled onto a precious gem! We had a last minute detour to Ypres and I booked the Albion because of its proximity to the Menin gate. I can’t say enough about the hospitality of this family run hotel. When I think of our short stay in Ypres I may remember chatting with Daphne at the Albion desk and bar as much as our visit to the Flanders Museum just around the corner! Besides the kindness of the owners, our room was modern but with architectural features that honored the past. The high tech skylight looked up on the steeple of the nearby church. The bar was comfortable with great local beers. And be sure to include breakfast! A spread worthy of the cost. Thank you Daphne and the entire family for your hospitality!

Only that we couldn’t stay longer.

Basically everything. From the first welcome to the final goodbye-everything was fabulous. We received a lovely welcome, parking was easy and secure. Room was as described and rare to have a separate bath and shower. Location superb and every member of staff we met were so happy to be working there, interested in our day and genuinely chatty. Breakfast superb. I recommend this hotel and have no hesitation in returning.

Absolutely nothing at all.

Excellent location just minutes from the market square and all the restaurants. Staff were lovely and always smiling. It was a very quiet hotel, great heating (January visit) but also windows that opened well to air the room. We used the car park, just take a ticket at the barrier and then walk into the back of the hotel. They will add on the carparking charges to your room. Will stay here again when we return to Ypres probably in a couple of years. Buffet breakfast had good choices and the tea and coffee was served by another lovely lady who always asked us how we were. Great customer service all round.

Greeted by multilingual reception team who can provide advice and suggestions / directions. Rooms have good storage, a massive, bright bathroom! Super clean. Breakfast is great with no shortage of choice. This hotel is literally just off the main square and the Menin Gate is a 5 minute walk. Paid parking available.

No complaints per say. It was a tight fit around a big bed and wardrobe, but we were mostly out exploring Ypres.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Albion the staff were so friendly and helpful, and definitely enhanced our experience of Ypres The room was warm, very comfortable, clean and well appointed. Breakfast every morning of our stay was very convenient and enjoyable. We also appreciated the parking on site. We definitely would recommend the Albion for a convenient and comfortable stay in Ypres.

Unfortunately one of us had a fall while on holiday, breaking a shoulder, so that we needed some additional assistance when we arrived. The family were extremely helpful and found a suitable room, together with a stool for the shower, thereby making life easier for us. In addition, we had an excellent buffet breakfast and secure parking for our car just behind the hotel.

Really we couldn’t fault anyone or anything on this occasion.

The Albion is the friendliest hotel I have ever stayed in. It is family run, comfortable and brilliantly located being right in the centre of Ypres with the bonus of an easy to access car park. Our bedroomwas a good size with a good bathroom and a comfortable bed. The breakfast at the hotel was great - a lovely continental with good meat & cheese. The hotel has a friendly well stocked bar. It doesn't have a restaurant but that isn't a problem as there are lots of good restaurants and cafes nearby. If you are planning to visit Ypres and explore the WW1 history in the area I can't recommend the Albion highly enough.
