We have stayed at this hotel before and are happy to return there. The hotel is situated just off the main square in Ypres so is ideal for those visiting with plenty of restaurants and bars within a short distance, and Ypres is close to many improtant WWI historical sites. The hotel is dog-friendly and has large room and adequate on-suite facilities. Parking (paid during the day) is available nearby, or free a short walk away. There is a vet close by to the hotel which is useful for UK pet owners as they are well-practiced at providing the necessary worming tablets, filling in the required papers/certificates, and all at a very reasonable price (De Gouden Poort Vets). Breakfast is more than adequate comprising a hot and cold buffet, and fresh juices and hot drinks.

The on-suite bathroom is looking a little tired and could do with a refresh.

Great location. It was easy to walk to the hotel from the railway station and it is just off the Market Square, so really easy to get to eveyrwhere you'll want to visit. 5 minutes walk from the Menen Gate. There are lots of excellent restaurants on Market Square. The Yper Museum and In Flanders Fields Museum are in the Cloth Hall, really close to the hotel. The street on which the hotel is located is not busy with traffic. There was a little noise from the street on a busy Saturday night, but it was quiet late at night. The breakfast was good quality and the breakfast room was very large and bright. It was excellent to be able to store luggage and bicycles on site. The room was a good size. The bed was very comfy and the kettle and tea/coffee supply was really appreciated.

There were a couple of tiny elements of wear and tear to the room but nothing that I needed to raise with staff or that affected my stay, I would definitely stay again.

The room, facilities, staff assistance, and breakfast exceeded our expectations - really enjoyed our stay and we are planning on returning soon! The location was a fantastic asset too, and our view from our room was incredible onto the Grote Markt. We arrived late and our check-in was seamless with understanding and support from the staff. Breakfast was a mix of continental and hot food, and was really a great way to start the day. The bed was lovely and comfortable, and we even had a bath which really helped after a long few days on our feet!

Don't think there was anything that didn't at least meet our expectations, with many things exceeding our expectations for a hotel with a central location and great value for money. We're planning on coming back soon!

On arrival, the receptionist advised of the weekend breakfast times, which would usually start after our group were leaving, but they kindly accommodated our breakfast and hour early, which was incredibly generous of them. All the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the showers were awesome. 1 of the twin rooms was a little smaller but completely manageable! It also had tea & coffee facilities (woo!!!) Great black out curtains, and considering there was an event going on in the square, when I closed the window , you could hardly hear any of it. Great location - literally off the Grote Markt. We will definitely be staying in the future.

I couldn't find a staircase and had to use the lift!

A very convenient location, just 30 metres from the main square of Ypres, this is a budget hotel which can put many more expensive hotels to shame. It's basic, yes, but is comfortable, quiet, and has extras like tea/coffee facilities and a safe in the room. The breakfast was good and the coffee in particular was great. The hotel has two lifts (to the 2 sections of the hotel) so access is pretty good.

the hotel is split across two buildings and several levels, which is confusing. There's no parking on site, but plenty in the area.

We didn’t realize breakfast was included but since we have booked a second night., we will enjoy it tomorrow. The location is superb for touring, sightseeing, eating, shopping and walking around, once we figured out the one way streets, we found it easy to get in and out of town for other sightseeing. The desk clerk was efficient, helpful and polite. The view from our window is amazing.

Our cell phone wasn’t on an International plan amd we had a hard time finding the hotel.

The staff here are extremely friendly and helpful. Check-in and check-out was a breeze. The location is perfect. 30sec walk to the In Flanders Field Museum and the market, 15min from the train station and close to all the restaurants in Ieper. Also, a really beautiful 30min walk away from the Essex Farm Cemetery. The free breakfast has scrambled eggs & bacon, boiled eggs, cold cut meats and cheeses, pastries, cereal, yogourt, juice, coffee, etc. Exceptional value. Highly recommend.

The hotel is situated in the centre of Ieper in a side street. It is a two-minute walk from the Menin Gate and the Flanders Fields Museum. The hotel is a 15 minute walk from the railway station. The breakfast was very acceptable with a wide choice of cereals, yogurts, meat, cheese and beverages available on a self-service basis. The staff were very pleasant and spoke good English. Everything was clean and the room was serviced daily.

The proximity room key failed after a few hours necessitating the calling of the night porter for access to the room. In room 211 the bathroom washbasin did not have a plug and the shower flooded the bathroom even with the shower curtain correctly positioned. This was because of the poor design of the installation.

Very happy with the standard of the room and hotel in general. Location is fantastic just off the main square, perfect for access to restaurants and bars. Staff were very cheerful and helpful whenever approached.

My only concern for some with this hotel would the parking situation. The hotel doesn't have its own parking. The staff were very helpful and told me where there was free parking with no time limits but some may have an issue with this due to the distance to the hotel. There is chargeable parking more local but this is time limited during the day. This wasn't an issue for me during my stay but please be aware if mobility is an issue for yourself.

Superb location just off the square. Nice sized room with plenty of space to sit in. Staff very accommodating to everything that we asked. Would definitely return here on a future trip.

We had a wet room and it did just that! The whole room gets very wet after showering and takes some time to dry out. Breakfast room was spacious but quite limited in choice. No car park, but given good advice and found free parking after 6pm or nearby.
