The buffet breakfast was excellent with more than enough choice. The hotel in general was very clean and tidy. The location was very convenient for both the Menin Gate, Last Post (10 mins walk) and the train station (12 mins walk) All the staff, from the receptionists, breakfast servers and cleaners were extremely courteous, polite and helpful.

When drinking in the bar, (on more than one occasion) we was asked if we wanted to add the bar bill to our room. I declined because I wanted to pay as I went along. It seemed like we didn't get the same attention as other guests. I hope that this was just an oversight.

Every detail at the Ariane was perfect. From the coffee in the lounge served with cake, nougat, chocolate and the most exquisite little pot of homemade advocat to the beautifully appointed bedrooms with their mood lighting and super comfy beds and sofas to lounge on The bathrooms were ultra swish with butter soft towels and extra large walk in showers The hotel was light an airy with a huge atrium and extensive and interesting WW1 display that only added to the history and poignancy of the area. The bar and gardens were filled with little quiet areas and chic and stylish furniture to lounge away the hours (there’s even a small lending library and reception shop for all those things you need for a day out touring) But aside from the comfort and beautiful touches the best thing about the hotel is the staff, they are exceptional. Friendly, helpful and obviously so increasingly proud of their hotel I’ve travelled to many places but for me this little gem has to be up there with the very best.

From our arrival, everything was very good. The staff were friendly and multi-lingual and tried to help whenever you had a query. The hotel and grounds were extremely clean and well looked after and the room was excellent. Tea and coffee making facilities, mini fridge, safe, extra pillows and blankets if required. The bar and restaurant were very good, breakfast was excellent and very popular. The hotel is a short walk from Ypres town centre and the Menin gate, the only downside was that the Menin gate is currently undergoing restoration, so we couldn't actually see it! We will just have to come back after March 2025!

Did not like the fact that smokers stood just outside the front door of the hotel so the smell drifted into the reception area where there was a display of WW1 artifacts and uniforms. I personally would like to see smoking banned in all public places but, of course, that will never happen as there would be no one to enforce it!

The Ariane Hotel is exceptional. The room was fabulous , comfortable and modern . Serviced every day by hard working efficient staff. Throughout the Hotel from the reception to the , bar and restaurant we were provided with an excellent standard of hospitality. All staff are friendly , welcoming and consummate professionals. We can not wait until we are once again experience this Hotel 😁 The breakfast is plentiful and delicious 😋. always served with a warm smile . Our evening meal was delightful and made all the more special by each member of staff .⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Including the staff serving at the bar . Highly recommend 😁. Thank you Ariane 😀

I liked everything about this hotel. The bedrooms, dining areas etc extremely comfortable and a lot of thought has been put into the decor, so attractive. One small thing which was really thoughtful was the movement detector light by the bed which stopped you stumbling into things when trying to find the bathroom. Cleanliness in all areas 10 out of 10. Breakfasts and dinner excellent with a great menu choice. Members of staff were always happy and nothing was too much trouble. Finally great location.

There wasn’t one thing I didn’t like.

All the staff were really friendly and helpful - includes everyone I met over 4 days from reception, to breakfast staff, bar staff and the cleaning team. It was a beautiful room which was stylish, functional and spacious. It was also spotlessly clean and I felt like I was the first person to use it. The bed was large and I found it very comfortable. Breakfast was good quality and had everything I could have wanted. The hotel also has a really nice relaxed feel to it and the collection of memorabilia is a fantastic addition. If I come back to Ypres I am definitely staying at the Ariane.

- The breakfast selection for my partner was fantastic, however I think a few more vegan options would be great (I know this doesn't apply to everyone) I was happy with my beans on toast and soya yoghurt; however I was a little sad to have paid €23 just for this!

Breakfast room was large with plenty of tables for 2 or 4 or more, well spread out so no danger of anyone sharing my meal? The food choices were too numerous to list and the staff quick to point ot that the kitchen would prepare other items to order. The staff were very helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble.

I've stayed in many hotels around this area so consider myself a reasonable judge, able to compare. Nothing at this hotel to dislike. The next time I'm in this area, this will be the only hotel I intend staying at.

Pretty much everything. Uniquely in our room there were low level motion triggered lights so if you got up you could see where you were going; similar light in the bathroom. This was a very ingenious and thoughtful touch. Restaurant and breakfast were excellent. The hotel have no problems with people leaving their cars in the car park on the morning of departure whilst they visit the museum (which does not open until 10am). All of this shows great attention to detail and customer service.

Sloping ceiling in bathroom - gently caught me head on it first time I got up in the night. Not really much they can do about it (other than some padding or a luminous strip to highlight it).

The Hotel is within just over 1hrs drive from the tunnel in Calais, it has ample secure parking on site at the hotel, lots of WW1 exhibits within the hotels reception area and a first class service from start to finish, I’ve stayed at the hotel when I’ve been on my motorcycle and car, and the hotel staff are always very accommodating no matter what you need. it’s within an easy a ten mins walk to the center of Ypres and the Menin Gate , full marks for breakfast be that cooked or buffet, I can’t say enough how good this hotel is
