The first day there basically wasn't any breakfast, just some pastries and coffee. The next two days, the breakfast was better, as someone had stocked the yogurt and the breakfast biscuits, as well as offering juice and other pastries.

The facilities were still under construction in the public areas. I would think that would be the first area to fix up. The lobby was a nice place to sit, but it could have been soooo much better with a little remodeling. There was a layer of dust under the coffee table. And an uninstalled cabinet just sitting there.

The property was beautiful! Right in the heart of the downtown area, everything was in walking distance. We could walk to the diner to eat, walk back to the hotel to nap, walk to the viewing platform to watch the ships… it was amazing!

The continental breakfast left a lot to be desired. It was set up in the lobby and had very few options. However! That meant we discovered Frank’s Place which was THE BEST food for a good price. So, it kind of worked out.

We like this hotel and have stayed here in the past. The prices go up and down depending on the season, which is the norm in this city. The ONLY complaint we really had this time was that the halls were extremely noisy at night. There were kids and parents staying here for hockey and they had zero respect for others staying here. It was in no way the hotel's fault but this group was extremely rude.

The tap water in the hotel was wonderfully drinkable. That probably sounds weird to some but I grew up in the area and miss how good and clean the water is there. The room was very comfortable and soothing to be in. It was very clean and we had no problems with check-in or check-out. The staff was very polite and friendly.

It's an older hotel so the rooms aren't as insulated against sound as some newer hotels. It's in a quiet area so that's not the worst, it's mostly just sounds from the hallway that get in.

The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very nice. Close to walk everywhere!

The hotel still lists as having a working pool and it hasn't been available for a long time. It was a very loud air conditioner but we understand because it was added for comfort. No extras come with the room, no restaurant in the hotel.

Great location-near the locks & easy walk to shops & eateries. Room was quiet, clean, and provided everything we needed. Shower was exceptionally good because the water pressure was strong & the showerhead’s spray provided good coverage. It was nice to have free parking in a downtown area.

It would have been nice to have a covered area to drive up to in order to unload luggage—especially if it was a rainy day.

Loved the location! it’s literally downtown at the locks and across the street from restaurants and nightlife. Historic Hotel with a great history.

Other than it being under construction… None! and only “didn’t like” it because I want to see how it looks all fixed up!

breakfast was a bag of high carb stuff you took back to your room. The Freighters restaurant that was highly recommended in various books and trip advisor was closed, a real disappointment. We had a room on the street side of the hotel and it was very noisy all night! I would recommend asking for a rear room if you want to get a good nights sleep

The staff are so nice. I always feel so welcome here

We stayed here back in January. There was no heat in the room. Stayed again in April and still no heat. But they gave us a space heater and we were snug as a bug. The pool and hot tub were closed as well. Hopefully they'll be open the next time we stay

Staff is very nice

They need a breakfast area. One small table is just not enough. And the selection is wish there was something to pick from. And a place to sit. They should turn that bar they don't use into the breakfast area.?????
