Beautiful boutique hotel right in the historic center. Grand old house dating back to the 17 century (or so we were told). Beautiful roof top terrace with superb swimming pool surrounded by carefully curated landscaped tropical plants in pots (frangipani, palms, buganvilia etc) but the best must be the personnel and their kindness (breakfast with a smile) who kept our bedroom impeccable and helped us make phone calls to organise local trips Excellent place to stay

Downstairs rooms can be noisy due to being close to the street. We were fortunate to be moved to a quieter room.

I recently stayed at la Passion by Massaya and had an overall fantastic experience. The hotel itself is immaculate, the staff is incredibly attentive, and every effort is made to ensure a comfortable stay. The room was cleaned thoroughly every day, and all the amenities were up to par. brackfast was very good, the pool on the roof-top is a big plus

I would caution against booking the apartment option. While the apartment itself is well-maintained, its location is a significant downside. The entrance is at street level, separate from the main hotel, which unfortunately means dealing with a lot of street noise at night. Cars, people, and even horses passing by can make it feel like you're living right on the road, disturbing what should be a peaceful night's sleep. Additionally, the appartement suffers from humidity, which leads to a musty smell. Despite the staff’s best efforts to clean and freshen the space daily, the moisture smell is hard to ignore. On my last morning, I even found a homeless sleeping near my door, which was unsettling.

We really enjoyed this boutique hotel. Everyone on staff was friendly and helpful. We did have an issue with the room we initially booked. Tatiana, who works at the front desk was exceptional. She went over and above to get us settled into another. I recommend rooms on floor 2 or higher - note there are no elevators and some stairs are quite steep. We loved the hotel's proximity in the city. The rooftop breakfast was delicious. The rooftop pool and lounge area were perfect to enjoy in the heat of the afternoon and relax.

I have owned and run a small hotel and have high expectations of cleanliness in bathrooms. I think that the use of vinegar or bleach would help clean, disinfect and minimize mildew in areas of high humidity, such as the shower.

Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and the location is absolutely excellent for visiting the walled city section of Cartagena. Room AC was very welcome and the balcony was A++ with a fantastic view of the streets. Very romantic location. Rustic, charming, and beautiful.

The tub was a little dirty so we only used the shower portion. It was also a little strange to not have any kind of curtain or divider for the shower/bath and the rest of the room but it did not bother us, just odd. We were fine with the noise but be aware that the Old Town doesn't really sleep so there will very likely be random outbreaks of music from the street at all hours (not the hotel's fault at all). Yes, the stairs to the terrace are a little steep but there is a handrail since a number of other reviews highlighted this. Last but not least, the hotel really needs better exterior signage. We walked past it 3 or 4 times when coming back and got a little turned around.

The room decor was beautiful. We had two connecting rooms for a family of 4 and the set up was really nice, really spacious and very comfortable beds. Breakfast was tasty and staff friendly. The decor of the hotel was in line with the old town - beautiful. The view from the pool which was in the top floor was great. The pool was warm and clean. The person in the reception helped us book transport for our next destination - they were all helpful.

The room didn’t have any views as the windows faced the reception of the hotel. The hotel doesn’t have lifts so not ideal for all, nobody offered to help with the luggage either so we had to join forces to get it up the stairs ( luckily it was not too high up!)

Really unique experience to have a personal suite/room with a kitchenette and lofted bed area hidden behind one of the traditional doors of the "Walled/Old City." Great location on a quieter but safe street very central to the area. We had a lot of room which was nice, we didn't need the kitchenette but is a great addition for those who do! I loved the lofted bedroom area but warning it is not accessible to those who cannot climb stairs. The rooftop is fantastic with an actual pool that is a few feet deep, 360 views, a bar (wasn't open), and many areas to sit. Best AC system we had the whole trip. The staff holds your massive key while you are out so there is someone at the desk 24/7 which helped me feel extra safe. The staff is also super kind.

The power was out when we arrived, but totally understand it was a neighborhood issue not exclusive to the hotel. However, the wifi never really functioned well and I am not sure if that was related or not.

The decoration in the room, the space were nice.

There were an electrical power outage during our stay, as the hotel does not have a generator (like some other similar 4 star hotels), the first day was stuffy and very hot. The hotel does not provide any laundry service. The building just in front being abandoned, it really provides a negative vibe when walking to the hotel at night (looks very unsafe). The WiFi is bad - it is better to connect to the WiFi of the coffeehouse next door.

Everything. This is a boutique hotel where you stay for the historic charm. Rooms are spacious, filled with history and so quiet. Despite being located dead center, the loudest "noise" we heard was that of a horse and carriage passing by. There is a large rooftop swimming pool and view terrace. The reception staff is friendly and very helpful.

Cleaning all corners of the room to remove sandy dust could be improved so that one can walk around the room bare footed without having dirty feet. Breakfast place is understaffed and therefore slow. It also starts at 7h30 only, which is too late for business or academic staff that need to leave by 7 or 7h30.

The staff was very friendly and helpful and the location couldn't be any better inside the old town, and not far from the bigger bus stops and the airport. We had the room right across the pool on the top floor, which was convenient, but could have been very noisy, if there had been people at the bar. Directly above our room was another lounge area, again, good for us that it wasn't used much, as it would've been very loud.

The whole hotel seemed to be under construction. There was lots of painting going on and other louder work with lots of dirt throughout the upper level hallways. Also, unlike advertised, there was no happy hour at the bar as the bar was closed.

we came back to stay here although our first time didn't not live up to our expectations. this time we had a different room which was as advtised and fully lived up to our expectations. The pool is great and much needed to deal with the heat :) and breakfast is amazing. fresh, home-cooked and served with a smile

common areas can be very hot as no covered with air-con. But all rooms have air-con no hot water - just warm but we were used to it by then as most places didnt have it
