Accommodations where perfect, room, lobby, restaurant. Our whole experience was seamless from booking, airport pick up, location, stay, very pleasing staff, and ride to airport. A wonderful experience.

I have travelled all over the world using Booking.com, including many boutique-type hotels. It is rare that a hotel exceeds my expectations in every respect. This one did. This hotel is a relatively new, well-situated hotel in the heart of the old town, Cartagena. We asked for a quiet room, and received one. The only disadvantage with the room was that windows did not look out on anything and that they were sealed, but the room was relatively quiet in a very noisy city. To have a balcony room with openable windows means a lot of noise at night in Cartagena. We preferred to sleep! The room we had was equipped with a comfortable king-size bed, lots of room and a very good bathroom, complete with a large shower and a Japanese toilet (which is relatively rare in my experience). We initially had some difficulty with the TV, but staff rectified the problem quickly. The AC worked well and the room is equipped with a ceiling fan if one prefers to use it- we used both. The design of the hotel, including the finishes, demonstrates a well-thought out, professional team was involved. I was particularly impressed by the overall design of the common areas of the hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good. The pool on level 4 is small but adequate for cooling down in a hot city. The hotel offers massage services. The companion hotel (Hotel Boutique Casona del Colegio) is available for meals and has a larger pool; it is located only 150 metres away, which is very convenient. For the cost, this hotel is a very good choice, allowing one to walk all over the old town and neighboring areas. Assuming that the hotel maintains its service standards and keeps its facilities in good condition, this is a hotel that I recommend without reservation.

The room is tastefully decorated with style and has many nice features. Bathroom comes with japanese toilet and a nice shower. bathroom and room have some really nice wooden fans on the roof, but there is alsa an AC. Very nice patio with tropical plants. Once you enter the hotel, the noise, heat (and dirt) from the street is left behind. This is a place to relax and recharge your batteries. Staff is very nice, helpful and responsive, from check in to barmen and room service staff. You can choose the Breakfast from the menu, and it was really excellent. On check out day the hotel was preparing for a wedding so no late check out was possible, but they offered me to use the shower in the spa of a partner hotel only 20 m away (for free) which was really great. They provide free filtered water (in many other Colombian hotels you have to pay for the water). There is a small pool at the rooftop, enough to cool down in the tropical heat. There is a lot of electronics to manage the AC, curtain etc. This is OK, but might be a challenge for more senor people. Some guests didn't like that the rooms dont' have windows to the outside but only to the patio gallery. I didn't find that a problem, with that much sun and heat outside you get a cosy place to retreat in your room. But yeah, there is no "view". In the second floor they have a nicely decorated library. As of May 2024 there was a construction site in front of the hotel, they were digging up the road. Surprisingly you didn't notice that when inside the hotel.

Nothing serious. If I really have to bring up something than only a minor thing: There is a stool in the room without backrest, it would be great to have a stool with backrest.

The property is in a great location next to the hot spots of El Centro. The property has a tranquil vibe and is a great place to get a good nights rest or just escape the hustle and bustle of Cartagena. There is a guard at the entry during the busiest hours ensuring that only guests and patrons are on the property. It’s very quiet for sleeping and the mini splits/AC keep the rooms nice and cool.The staff, especially René were very welcoming, polite and helpful. The breakfast which included a juice, a hot beverage, bread, fruit and an entree was also satisfactory.

The property has been the best accommodation I've ever stayed in (from all over the world). The room was fully equipped, super clean, the staff were extremely supportive and with plenty of amenities to make your stay comfortable. They even offered me a brief free massage at their spa and a welcoming ( delicious!) cocktail. I fully recommend this place. Look forward to coming back again. Being a very frequent traveller I do not manage to write reviews anymore, unless there is a very special experience (in either way of the satisfaction direction). The stay at Casona del Porvenir was definitely such, which stands out and will be remembered for a long time! I could even say that this might have been one of the best hotels, I have ever stayed at. The whole positive experience begins with the moment of booking, since which the hotel team makes you feel welcome already. This feeling persists throughout the entire stay. It is not about any specific luxury of the hotel, but about the little details, which matter the most - from the nice little gestures of attentiveness of the staff, through a sense of detail in the design of the place, to a cozy and comfortable feeling throughout the hotel (just to mention the unbelievably friendly inner patio seating spaces with constant fresh fruits refill, the super comfortable bed and pillows, the different lighting ambience, the very efficient (minimalist, but effective) room space creation). In each case, the team responsible for running the hotel know what they are doing. They do it right and deserve all possible respect for it! If there only were more such projects around the world ...

I cannot think of anything particular .... maybe just what surprises about Cartagena in general (due to the amount of tourist visits from all around the world), is that people in the tourism sector are not really willing to speak English. As in most cases in Colombia, they understand, but they are rather shy to apply the knowledge actively. To reach a global tourism outreach, this would definitely be a recommendation to work on!

This hotel was a wonderful surprise. Perfect centralized location and incredible staffing. Breakfast was wonderful and the cozy privacy was perfect. Great air conditioning. Extremely clean. A perfect stop in Cartagena.

I have nothing but positives to say about our stay. It was clean. The food and drinks were nice. The security was good. Wifi and AC were reliable. Only 13 rooms, I believe so never felt crowded. Only thing was construction on the street just outside made it a little tough to find/get to.

The hotel is beautiful, and the staff was wonderful. Very responsive, there was always someone who knew English, and so friendly. They knew our names, what rooms we were in, etc. Location is perfect for exploring the walled city. Breakfast was very nice. And they have a sister hotel just a few doors down with more facilities and also serves breakfast if you want a change of scenery. But this hotel is more beautiful in my opinion.

I only took off a point from a 10 because the room was beautiful and full of nice touches including a Japanese toilet but there are a lot of switches and remotes to deal with. Minor, I know, but not very intuitive sometimes.

I loved my stay at Casona del Porvenir!! It is a beautiful property well maintained and has a great staff. Kathleen at the reception was a doll! I loved the luxury feel of the boutique hotel. Very conveniently located in the middle of everything. Loads of great restaurants and bars within walking distance. And lots of shops for all different price ranges. Very happy that I chose to stay here and I would definitely stay here again!!

Nothing negative to say.

We loved this place. The staff were friendly and efficient. The room was beautiful, with a really comfortable bed and nice toiletries! Breakfast was delicious with the additional bonus of being able to dine in the sister hotel just down the street with a slightly different menu. Location was perfect. Would definitely stay again!

Everything was fantastic. The room is a little bit tight for space but that's normal in the old city of Cartagena. The charm and design of the casa hotels makes up for the room sizes which are typically on the small side.
