The view was breathtaking. What a special place! Food was lovely. Boato has great staff and provides really nice extra services. It was a sweet surprise to take the Ponton boat back and forth to the hotel. Made for a really special trip! Every night they would turn our fire which made some romantic evenings.

We were in the ‘lar’ closest to the club house where you have breakfast, lunch and dinner. The music sounded loudly through to our stay. It woke us up at 6:30AM. Though using the Whatsapp service has been very useful and staff is considerate if you make a comment about it. The other ‘lar’s’ also have speakers and so i did expect more peace and quiet in this place but lots of families/friend groups play loud music sounding through at night or during the day.

The location is really beautiful and the casitas are very comfortable and have a cool design. Some of the meals were outstanding and there were fun experiences nearby as well. This is the place you want to be if you need to relax. The staff was super nice as well.

There were communication problems. The property is on a steep hillside and when we arrived at the oat docok nobody was there to take us to the top of the hill for check in. The hot tubs are fun. It need to be drained and refilled every day as lots of bugs fly in and the water cools down over night/ bring matches if you want to cook as the stove top did not self ignite. It's chilly in the morning ao god to bring slippers or socks and pants and long shirts.

Awesome surroundings, direct view over the embalse. The “lar” was cosy and has everything you need to chill inside & outside. It’s also great that you can order meals to be delivered to the “lar”. We even got a mini fireside at sunset, to make the early hours of darkness a bit more romantic.

Not really a dislike, but currently the access to the hotel is only possible by boat and at given timeslots (i.e. 1x hour, only until 5pm…). If you want to stay in the room, that’s not a big issue. But it’s definitely something worth knowing beforehand – we didn’t. Moreover, there were a couple of details could be improved to make the experience even better. The whirlpool didn’t really work, there were dogs in the dinning area just walking around the tables, there were 1 or 2 moments with the staff where they could’ve been a bit more clear.

The cabañas are comfortable, clean, and peaceful. We loved the private balcony to sit and take in the beautiful view. It was a treat to have breakfast delivered to our room each morning. We loved using the kayaks and the free boat tour was a wonderful excursion without having to leave the hotel. The staff were very kind and accommodating; it was easy to communicate with them via Whatsapp during our stay. The Boato Hotel was a highlight of our trip to Colombia and I can't wait to return!

The location is a bit hard to get to/from without your own transportation. We took a bus to Guatape and asked the driver to let us off at Piedra de Peñol; they will drop you off at the gas station near the entrance where you can easily grab a tuk-tuk (mototaxi). It was about 10 minutes and 30,000 cop to get to the Boato Hotel. The hotel is down a very rocky road; I was surprised the tuk tuk can make it down. Once you are there, you can ask the front desk to call a tuk tuk to pick you up if you want to go to Guatape or back to the rock, but it can take some time. Overall, still worth it to be in a peaceful, quiet place for a few days - but a bit removed if you want do to a lot of activities.

Superb stay at Boato. The location is incredible, set right by the huge Guatape lake. The free non-motorised activities eg kayak, allow you to explore the lakes and soak up the views. Rooms are individual and set away from others so you don’t feel crammed in. Rooms are spacious and modern, and the hot tub was large and a delight to use. The outdoor decking was spacious and a good area to watch the birds, lake and scenery. Staff are all very friendly and helpful. The food was to a high standard and very tasty. El penol and Guatape are a short Tuktuk ride away and the hotel arranged this for us. We really enjoyed our stay here and would like to go back one day.

The rooms could benefit from air con or a ceiling fan during the day/afternoon. Would be nice if the blinds in both rooms could be individually operated rather than in tandem.

The accommodation was really fantastic. A unique place with amazing views. The jacuzzi is of added value. And every night the staff lights a campfire on request. It's also fun to do the free boat trip.

Staff speak only Spanish for the most part. Communicating English is only possible via Whatsapp. That's a shame, because that makes everything a lot more difficult. On the other hand, the staff is doing their best. Not five stars, due to some sloppiness, but certainly 4 stars. Also take a pocket comb with you, because the path to the houses is dark. And in addition, you need the necessary condition to get from your cottage to the reception.

The staff is generally friendly. The room is comfortable, with enough privacy. Great lake view from the cabin. The jacuzzi on the terrace is nice and good water temperature. There are several activities offered inside the hotel. The distance to "La Piedra del Peñol" and “Guatapé Town” is no longer than 15 minutes.

Some waiters do NOT know the restaurant's menu. Much of the menu is also unavailable. The room does NOT have air conditioning, which makes it quite hot during the day. The second night they did NOT light the fire: after 8pm the fire staff is no longer on duty. Hotel employees do NOT usually ask about this or other needs. Breakfast is NOT on time (at least in the very early morning hours). Some kitchen furniture is difficult to open/close.

The location is absolutely stunning, we loved every minute of our stay there. Our Har (house) was very clean and comfortable and the hot tub is a great touch. We enjoyed the paddleboard and kayaks, as well as jet skis and wakeboarding - great family fun. The staff were wonderful and the food was delicious. Plus a great base to visit Piedra el Penol and Guatapé. 😍

Boato Hotel is absolutely beautiful - breathtaking location and very comfortable accommodations. We loved the views and service was attentive. We kayaked on the lake and went swimming too. Traffic going into town was especially heavy during the holiday weekend, so we spent most of our time relaxing at the hotel and taking in the views. This is a luxurious hotel that is not trying to be too fancy.

While the breakfast food was good, lunch and dinner food was disappointing. Also the wifi and electricity went out for a few hours during our stay.

Great view from the Cabin over the lakes of Guatapé. We took te room with the bath Thub on the terrace, the water was Nice and warm and magic views to sit in at night. Very friendly and helpfull staff. You can order food from the restaurant to the Cabin without any extra charges. Fruitbowl for breakfasts was delicious! The cabin was pretty and bed was comfortable Definitly would recommend to stay a night if you're visiting El Piedra de Penol and guatapé ( 10-15 min with taxi)

In the morning the shower had only cold water. The staff could probably fix it for us, but we didn't had the time to call for help ( plane to Catch). The Cabin could use some curtains at the Side of the kitchen. It was a bit hot in the afternoon.
