The location of the property is perfect. Very close to the main train station so travel to and from the airport was a breeze. A bit of a walk to the main sites but since Copenhagen is such a beautiful city, you wouldn’t really mind the walk. Also, metro stations and bus stops are close by so you can opt to ride the public transport instead of walking.

The pillow (yes there was only one) was VERY thin. Also, while towels were changed daily, linens were not. We stayed 7 nights and the linens were never changed. It would have been nice if they changed the linens at least once. Also getting into and out of the shower (which was in the bathtub) can be challenging especially for seniors (like my mom who is 67), as there were no hand bars.

Nice smart city hotel, friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms, and a great breakfast. Though to the left of the main train station it was an easy short walk into the centre. My wife and her friends had previously stayed at the sister hotel across the road and enjoyed their stay there, and we both enjoyed our stay at The Absalon.

The hotel was great, but coming home in the evening we got to recognise the females who took up position on the corners near the hotel, and there was a smart adult sex shop opposite the bar. Nothing noisy, and locals and tourists safely walk past in the evening, but just to be aware of.

The hotel is situated a stones throw from Central Station and the Metro. The hotel itself is clean and tidy. The staff are super friendly, especially Stefan who gave us lots of advice, detailed on the map where everything was that we wanted to do and he had a great sense of humour (which we like) - Our stay was undoubtedly made better by his warm welcome.

The hotel rooms, whilst modern do look a little tired and there were building works taking place across the road. This woke us every morning (not too much trouble as we needed to be up!) but this may be a nuisance for some. A minor bug bear for us was that there was no milk in the rooms for tea and coffee. Also, there was no English breakfast tea or decaf options (the latter is a difficultly in Copenhagen, never mind the hotel).

The hotel has 2 elevators for guests, but some of the floors still require a number of stairs to reach your room. We were first given one of these rooms and at our request, they moved us to a room on the same floor that didn't require stairs for our large luggage, etc. We had a nice corner suite to spread out in and the bathroom (bathtub/shower combo) was roomy with a sink and shelf above for your personal toiletries. Room service is by request and if you decide you don't need it - they will offer you a 100DKK voucher good for a drink or two at the downstairs bar/lounge area, toiletry set or half price on a bike rental. We chose the drink(s) option for all 3 days of our stay. They also have a room for luggage storage which we took advantage of on the day we departed. The hotel is very close to Copenhagen's main train station (within a 10 minute) - very convenient for heading out to Roskilde for the Viking Ship Museum and for direct transport to and from the airport. Note WiFi is not secure, but works well. Beds are very comfortable too. Staff at front desk always have a smile and greeting for you coming and going. It is a busy place and they also let us know transportation options for a variety of places we wanted to visit. All in all, we would definitely stay here again!

Breakfast offerings were plenty, but never varied (soft boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, yogurt, fruit, bread, cheese, meat/salami slices, cereals). Espresso drink machine was not working, but they give you a thermos of coffee for your table. Hot water for tea is also provided along with a variety of juices.

Delicious breakfast, fantastic staff who answered all my questions and hesitations regarding transportation to the airport, early check-out, etc., really friendly and professional at the same time, thumbs up to all the hotel staff from receptionists, to breakfast crew, up until the cleaning staff (even though we did skip the room cleaning and swapped it for drinks card :)

I didn't like the hotel's design and the rooms, and it was a little kitschy (but that is my opinion). also, one of us asked for breakfast to go as we needed to check out early and got just one bun with cheese, pear, and a half-liter bottle of water, which we returned since we'd been going to the airport anyways and wouldn't be able to drink that. I would appreciate a more diverse package, as the hotel's breakfast had great options!

Original reservation at Absalon was in 2020, but COVID rendered that plan impossible. In a gesture of goodwill for the missed stay, the hotel upgraded us this visit to a very lovely, spacious suite, complete with a bottle of bubbly and tray of sweets upon our arrival, and a lovely note. This hotel is extremely well-managed and a quiet respite from the busy touristy sections of the city. Outstanding staff was extremely welcoming and accommodating. And for those visiting in the summer, yes, AIR CONDITIONING is now in every room -- IMO an absolute must for a hotel in Europe in the summer!!

Absolutely NOTHING not to like!!

I liked the design of the hotel, the room, the staff, the location and pretty much everything else. Also the soap in the room had a very good scent. A very good hotel that I recommend!😀

We came back late from a concert and would have liked to have the opportunity to buy some soda and snacks from the reception. I also booked the room one year prior to the stay, but wasn't able to pay for it until 2 days before arrival. A weak norwegian krone made the stay unnecessarily more expensive than it had to be because of currency differences, rather than if I had been able to pay when I booked.

The hotel is super modern and new, loved the sustainability aspect as there was no plastic cards for the room and generally no plastic in the bathroom or during the breakfast. even the yoghurt pots were in the glass pots rather than plastic, so loved this aspect. also, loved the encouragement for non cleaning the rooms to get some perks- really good idea!

there wasn’t anything as such that I didn’t like, but I think the breakfast could do with a bit more options and I also didn’t so much like that the lighting was automatic in the room that when you stand up in the night it switches pn

Convenient location, small and personal.

The breakfast is exactly the same every day and gets boring after 3 days. Had a completely horrific experience when my sister arrive later than me and the front desk wouldn’t help her, even though her name was on the room. I found out it was a hotel school intern, so I can’t fault the hotel staff. This girl needs severe lessons in the very basics of hospitality. Absalon would do well to send her back.

Striking, colourful and most attractive decor. Exceptionally comfortable room. Helpful receptionists. Very well positioned near to the station, the Tivoli and city centre. A big choice of good restaurants near by. We were offered 2 free beers each if we went without housekeeping for the two nights of our stay. We accepted the offer, enjoyed the beers and still had the rooms serviced. An excellent hotel. I shall book to stay here when next I visit Copenhagen.

An over efficient waitress whisked away my half-eaten breakfast when I went to get a second cup of tea! I got more, but a shame to waste good food.
