The hotel was perfectly located in the centre of Rastatt, just a few minutes walk from the Schloss, which we wanted to visit and was the main reason for our stay. The hotel had a small free car park located just behind the property. The receptionist who checked us in was friendly and efficient despite being very busy. The room was comfortable. When we stayed the temperature didn't drop much below 30 degrees. The windows could be fully opened in the room, and despite being located in the middle of the town, there was little noise from outside. There was also a good fan in the room, which helped control the temperature. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. A mini fridge and a kettle were provided. Breakfast, which was included in our (reasonable) price was excellent. Great choice ranging from fresh fruit to cooked breakfast and everything inbetween. We found a good restaurant just 4 minutes walk from the hotel - Lehners Wirtshaus, good German food and beer, with a large terrace bordering the Schloss garden. We also visited the Residenzschloss Rastatt - it looks impressive from the outside, but is surprisingly beautiful on the inside. We had a guided tour at 10 am and we were the only customers. Well worth a visit!

there was a connecting door in the room - obviously important for some guests. The size/position of the bed made it difficult to get around without banging your shin on a very nasty corner! The bathroom had a bath/shower combi, great for people who like baths, but a shower (minus shower curtain!) would be more convenient and better for the environment. Forgot to mention...not many electric sockets in the room. Ours were used up by tv, mini fridge and fan.

This hotel is excellently situated in the centre of Rastatt with easy access to bars, restaurants, banks etc. Room was a little dated but very clean and comfortable and the staff were all excellent. Breakfast was superb, being a buffet style German breakfast, it catered for all with a wide variety of choice. All was fresh and very well presented. Overall, I would truly recommend Hotel Schwert

Parking is available but a little awkward to find but that is a very minor point.

Fantastic breakfast!

The breakfast was one of the best I have had. So much choice, well presented and all of the food was fresh. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room and the beds were clean and comfortable. We even had our own little balcony

The only thing that would improve the hotel is some air conditioning for those hot summer nights.

Room was very clean. Staff were very helpful, and prompt in answering any questions I had. Hotel is centrally located, with plenty of choice cafes and restaurants nearby - and also a short walk from a train station, which allows for easy exploring of the beautiful locale.

Not much impacted my stay badly - I did encounter a small problem in entering the hotel again after dark, but again, staff were very quick in helping me - and I have nothing but a glowing recommendation to give!

We had a lovely big room. The location in the center of Rastatt is excellent - very close to the beautiful castle and with lots of cafés, shops and restaurants in walking distance. The staff was always friendly and helpful - be it ordering taxis or rearranging tables such that we could sit together with or friends. But best of all was the fantastic breakfast! We will happily stay at Hotel Schwert again next time we're in Rastatt.

We really loved this hotel. Unexpectedly quiet, and there were little details like the heat lamp in the bathroom and various other things which made us feel someone liked to make guests feel at home. The breakfast was spectacular and the personnel friendly. We would definitely stay here again!

I like the room, it was super clean and well maintained. The staff was also cooperative. Breakfast was too good , a number of varieties and also fruits.

There is no air conditioner. We are with the baby, and only one fan was there. It was very uncomfortable 😕.

The business room we stayed in was roomy and comfortable. Breakfast was served from 7.30 am in the weekend but we could already start at 7 am. Perfect location, close to large park which is excellent when travelling with a dog (which we did). The hotel does charge 10 euro per night for the dog.

The reception was very friendly and tried their best to accomodate our requests. The breakfast was wonderful and the beds were really soft.

The beds were actually two beds joined into one with a gap in between, which was quite uncomfortable for us to sleep together.
