We stayed in the "Junior Suite" for just one night, our first night in Crete after flying in to Chania airport. Everything was exceptional. The free private parking right by the property, the friendly relaxing welcome, the well equipped spacious room, the quiet but convenient location only minutes from the old harbour, the big comfortable bed, the exceptional breakfast. Alexandra and Andreas made us feel as though we were staying with friends. We certainly intend to return, but for longer next time.

Not a criticism of La Maison Ottomane, but first time visitors may find the route for the last couple of hundred metres to the property a challenge, especially if traffic is busy. The instructions Alexandra sends are good - take the time to read them carefully while looking at a streetmap! Look for the roadname Par. Kanevarou on a narrow road on your right, but don't turn into it: it becomes very narrow part way up. Turn up the next road, Kantanoleon, after the excavation site. Then a right and left put you back on Parodos Kanevarou, where you'll find the car parking area at the end on your right.

Superb location in the old town, tucked away in a quiet quarter. Only a few minutes walk from the old harbour and a 30 minute walk to the town beach. It is a converted old house, the duplex apartment we stayed in was beautifully furnished with lovely antiques and antique furniture. The linen and bedding was of the highest quality and the facilities equally so. The owner Andreas is a delightful chap as is Alexandra, they are both so helpful and kind they simply can’t do enough for you. The breakfasts were a positive feast! Our stay there was sublime.

There was nothing to dislike.

Very nice place, in a quiet area, despite in the middle of old town and very close to the port. Here you feel like in a home, not a hotel. The fact that there are only few rooms adds even more to the charm of the place. Everything is thought to please: high quality furniture, amenities, tableware, cosmeticsand so on. Very good parking place if you are coming with a car. Our room also had a nice terrace, which was very good for having a coffee in the early morning and a drink quietly in the evening. (by the way, Creta has its own "Vinsanto" called "Helios", made from Liatiko grapes, very nice). Now, if there is to give a second name, or to complete the name of this beautiful place, it should be "La maison ottoman beautifully cared of by Alexandra." Alexandra was amazing since the booking day, continuing with the arrival day and until the moment we left. So many details to reach the address, all type of informations, basically you cannot miss it unless you really want it. And the breakfast! Wow! This was a culinary trip in itself. So many flavours, and stories behind. Our palates were spoiled in the two mornings...Thank you! To conclude: Thank you Alexandra! And congratulations to you and all taking care of this place! Until we meet again!

Mainly that we stayed only 2 nights :) We prefer harder matresses, but this is a personal taste matter, I know many people prefer softer. And we slept well anyway :)

Everything!!!! Spotlessly clean. Location to both ends of the harbour was ideal. Nothing was too much trouble, always going that extra mile. The little touches such as the teapot in our room and the raki with honey in a decanter. The breakfast was delicious with Alexandra always bringing out different things each day to try but our personal favourite was the kumquat syrup on the yoghurt!!! Andreas was always ready with help and advice and answered our many questions about the traditions and every day life of Crete. Lovely hosts.

Absolutely nothing!!

We couldn't have received a warmer welcome, Andrea and Alexandra are the perfect hosts and the breakfasts are delicious. The room was beautiful decorated with lovely antiques and the bed comfortable. The room was spotlessly clean with plenty of complimentary, good quality toiletries. The location is perfect, in a quiet spot just a short walk from the old town. Would definitely return.

There was nothing we could find that we didn't like. The room didn't have a view but it certainly didn't spoil our visit.

Without a doubt the best experience on our Greek adventure. We rented the split level which was outstanding. Fantastic attention to detail and atmospheric to the hilt. It literally was a home away from home. Andreas the owner is the best host one could ask for. Genial, intelligent and accomodating. Alexandra you will see for yourself is a treasure. She was beyond what you could possibly expect. There for your every need and with a giant smile which would brighten anyone's day. The breakfast was generous and delcious. And there was parking. Two tier A/C units upstairs and downstairs. Incredibly quiet and a very short walk to the harbor. Truly a gem.

The fact that we couldn't stay longer.

Absolutely beautiful premises with lovely, attentive owners. Every desire and need were anticipated in advance. Breakfast in the courtyard each morning surrounded by the palm tree and bougainvillea vines was beautiful. The owners were so easy to communicate with even considering our transit delays and they arranged taxis for us which made transferring to/from the hotel a breeze.

Nothing. Comfortable bedding, great toiletries and amenities, strong AC for warm days, beautiful decor.

A lot of thought and care went into the design of each room. Andreas the owner is to be congratulated for transporting you into the Ottoman era. Of note, Alexandra makes the stay so comfortable and welcoming. Her breakfasts are one treat after another. Nothing is too much trouble and her upkeep of the facility is stellar.

We loved the location, right in the center of the old town right behind the harbor and it was great leaving the car there and exploring on foot. Our gracious hosts were always ready to help and advise, and breakfast on the little terrace was a gourmet treat. Our suite was tastefully and comfortably furnished, obviously with much love given to every piece and détail. Lots of character! It was also very quiet except for lovely cretan singing one evening, coming in with the breeze from the sea... A perfect way to end the day.
