Location is amazing and it’s charming as well. All the necessities are available and more than ample space for traveling with multiple people. We did little to no research prior to traveling to Budapest and was a last minute addition to our Taylor Swift concert in Vienna (still very bummed at the outcome), but we were more than pleasantly surprised when we were dropped off by the taxi and the location and amenities—it was a magical stay! Communication was prompt and effective leading up to arrival and the hostel felt extremely safe (Budapest as a whole felt very safe too!). Beds and linens were comfortable and my only complaint is that we should’ve stayed longer. Definitely would recommend and I hope to stay there again one day!

Great location next to St Stephens Basilica. Very easy to get to from the airport via bus #100E. Very helpful staff person who checked me in, answered my questions, and walked me to my room. Their rooms are scattered in several nearby locations. Mine was on the 8th floor overlooking the Basilica and square. (Be warned that the church bells will greet you starting 6 am.)

One negative is that their reception is physically open daily only from 2 pm to 6 pm. This can present difficulties, although they're reachable by WhatsApp. In my case I was leaving Budapest on a night train. Normally in a situation like this I would just check out of my room in the morning, leave my bag with the hotel at the desk, and pick it up in the evening. But because Pal's reception is open for only a few hours each afternoon, I couldn't do that. I ended up going to the train station in the morning to store my bag during the day. Just a word of advice to think through your logistics, in case you're affected by Pal's short reception hours.

Fantastic location, everything was on or doorstep.. Very central, right on St Steven's Square with the most amazing view of the Basilica. Air conditioned, felt very safe, good sized basic apartment with a small kitchen. We were on the 8th floor but there were 2 lifts so thankfully we didn't have to carry our bags up all those stairs! Also, being other 8th floor was quiet, even with the windows open.

We expected to be staying in the hostel but we're actually in an apartment block across the square. It wasn't a problem, it just wasn't what we expected.

it was the best choice i made. Metro feels like 1 minute walking. Tram was near. Bus from and to the airport was 2 minutes. Alexander was one of the best receptionists i have ever encountered. Everything was great i recomend it to everybody. It litteraly is the best value hotel you can get in budapest, in my opinion. We had a small problem one day but they gave us a bigger room to make up for it and they let us stay in our old one too, because it was free, so we had 2 rooms for the price of one. It might look a bit creepy from the inside but that is really not the case.

nothing everything was great or handled great but the reception desk

The location is very strategic since it is accessible by all means of transport (bus, tram, metro). Our room is very spacious, it is also well-equipped and clean. The staff was kind and helpful even before our stay in Budapest because I had some inquiries, and our exchange in WhatsApp was smooth. On top of that, it is affordable too. Overall, it really really exceeded our expectations. 10/10 would stay here again if we visit the city in the future !

It's not something that bothered us that much but sometimes it was difficult to open the key to our room (needs a little bit of patience) but that's all !

Very spacious apparemment, extremely well located, they fixed quickly our shower when we did not have the warm water, they organized well our check-in when we arrived at 9:00 pm, they communicated with us by message for knowing if is going well, i really appreciate the way they take care of guests, i recommend 100%!

Because it located in the heart of the city, it is nosy for sure, but it’s not an issue for us after the city walk, we fall sleep as usual.

Brilliant! This was our first hostel stay(with my group of friends), and it would definitely won't be our last. Don't be put off by the word hostel-it was basically a private flat in an amazing location for a fraction of what we would pay in a hotel. Of course, our experience is traveling with a group of friends, if you are a solo traveler, this might look different if you stay in shared dormitories. However, the value for money and location is unbeatable. The accommodation itself was spotless, had everything necessary for our stay, incredibly warm for end of December (we actually got too hot and had to switch the heating off for half of our stay-flat was still plenty warm, was lovely). The person who met us at reception (whom's name I sadly forgot)was incredibly polite and helped us check in , explaining everything in detail and the process of checking out , entering the building, etc. We also loved the cat- Angela, who was very cuddle and sweet. Also, we booked a transfer from the airport to the hostel through them, and again, I will recommend doing this too. Only have in mind you need to book it with 48h notice ,which we didn't know and unfortunately couldn't arrange one for our departure flight, as only messaged the the day before, as an alternative to this I will use Bolt. Overall, we absolutely loved our stay and knew and discussed while still in Budapest that if we are to come back, we will definitely stay here again!

Nothing was all good!

My husband and I booked the double room, but was given the room for 5pax instead. I'm so glad as there're much space to open our huge luggages. Our room was Hostel 4 - quite clean and comes with a small pantry area with microwave, fridge, kettle, toaster, plates and utensils. There's a wifi router so internet was very good and stable. Great view of the side of St Stephen Basilica! The bell wasn't very loud and didn't annoy us as we woke up around 8am every day which was the time the bells start ringing. It also rings throughout the day, half-hourly. Many eateries right below it. Very strategic location so it's abit pricey for a hostel. The reception area lends plug adapter, umbrella, but charges for extra towel and laundry service. Receptionist guy seem unfriendly at first, but is quite helpful. We can also store our luggage at the reception after checkout. One small detail that we liked was that they google translated the check-in instruction / wifi sheet for us to our local language.

Water heater is furnace kind typically expected from an old, historic building, so sometimes the hot water in shower and basin isn't regular. But not a deal breaker, just need to wait for few seconds for the hot water to come through the tap. Our bathroom doesnt have a bath tub (the picture for double room with private bath shows theres a bath tub tho) and it comes with shower area with sliding glass doors. The shower area is quite small, so if you're big be careful of your elbows when you move around the shower. Reception is not 24hours which is expected from a hostel, but they gave us Whatsapp contact so that we can reach them (though replies are delayed).

The location was awesome, close to everything! The eye-level view of St. Stevens (English version?) and the square were breathtaking from the massive arched windows. The apartment was huge with incredibly high ceilings. Immaculately clean. Pal was exceptionally accommodating. He was always concerned about your comfort, experience, and in constant contact. Value for the money was outstanding.

I really liked the apartment, but the Pal experience is kind of funky, and all the apartments are not in the same building. The furniture is very stark and is set up for multiple guests in the unit I stayed in.

The apartment was in a great location, short walk from Deak Ter to access all the metro lines. Air-conditioning was modern and perfect for warm nights. Bed was comfortable and apartment had everything you needed. We didn't arrive until 1am but they had someone on hand to show us to our apt., catering for late arrivals.

Be warned the bells from the cathedral may wake you on occasions, but the hostel provided ear plugs, which was a nice touch, we were aware of the bells in any case.
