A Villa Gili Air completely saved our holiday! My best friend and I had to find new accommodation after the previous one we had booked had bed bugs. A Villa had us organised and settled into one of their beautiful Pool Villas so quickly complete with cold drinks and cake. The staff were SO lovely and attentive at all times, the included breakfasts and afternoon teas were delicious, as well as the lunch that was ordered from a restaurant around the corner and brought to us on the chef's day off. We should've booked with A Villa from the very start. It was also less expensive than the other place, even though it had way more features (e.g. full kitchenette, complimentary drinking water, TV, ability to have spa treatments in-room etc). It's located on the East side of the island, around the corner from a couple of yummy restaurants. It's a bit further a walk to the marts and main strips, but also means less noise or chanting to be heard early in the mornings - so well worth it! I can't wait to go back! Thank you! 😘

Everything was great!

The wonderful and helpful folks at A Villa were amazing. So kind, welcome and friendly. They really made our stay amazing. Its the small touches that make a big difference, things like receiving a cold towel when we arrived - which we very much needed! It is a very quiet and peaceful space with plenty of privacy. Yet a quick 3 min walk takes you directly to the beach. It is amazing value for money, and the villa and amenitiies exceeded our expectations! It was such a luxury having our own pool - and we will remember our stay fondly.

We foolishly let a mosquito into our villa! While a turn down service is offered -- which includes lighting mosquito coils, watch out and be vigilant not to let those suckers inside! While I cannot fault the Villa, the immediate surroundings remain undeveloped and a little rag tag, on the way to the beach for example is a swamp of garbage bins with flies buzzing around. This doesn't impact the stay at all, however i do hope that the island improves its rubbish management.

5 minutes walk from harbour, Main Street and beach bars and restaurants. Palatial room with a vaulted ceiling in traditional Balinese thatch. Generous sized private pool. Breakfast served to us on the dining table in the private kitchen, service made us feel like royalty. Thoughtful touches like welcome drink and snack and afternoon tea. Room cleaned on request and to a high standard. Prompt and helpful responses to queries/requests via WhatsApp. Wonderful, sincere staff who all work tremendously hard to keep their guests comfortable.

A bit of wear and tear here and there but this didn’t affect how much we enjoyed our stay. Would be good to have do not disturb/please clean my room cards for the door.

Very friendly & helpful staff. In addition June was quick to offer and arranged a doctor for me as I got quite unwell. Private Pool was very enjoyable. Excellent bed. Spacious room. Lovely welcoming flower arrangement on the bed. Bikes available. Close to Ferries and restaurants/bars/shops. Would definitely stay again.

Construction work ongoing next door. But understand that it is low season and work needs to get done. Where not able to lock the door to the poolside and had to share our key with staff for cleaning to take place and which we asked for. Not sure what normal procedure is.

The way walking to the beach / restaurants was not great, not well lit, passing garbage and construction sites. All water also for shower etc was salty (might be general in gili Air? Not sure) Some small stuff not working greatly at the villa (leg of one sunbed a bit broken, one tap on the sink problematic, etc, small things like that that we didn't mind, but were a bit annoying) The outside bathroom meant that for my gf that's bad big sun sensitivity, it was not very usable at specific time of day, when a lot of sun was directly there

The staff were just wonderful, really helpful, friendly and personable. The private pool is a great size. The villa itself is beautifully presented, just a bit dated.

The bugs were A LOT. We are travelling Indonesia for 3 months, so I’m used to a few bugs… but this was a bit unmanageable. I was bitten to death every night from the mosquitos. Because the ceiling is thatch, and the doors don’t shut tight, it just meant there were so many bugs and mosquitos constantly in the room. As it’s located back from the sea front, there are more mosquitos there to start with. We also had a visitor every night (rat we think) in our roof, which again was a bit disruptive every night! Apart from that, which I know it’s just part and parcel of staying in Indonesia the villa was beautiful. But if bugs aren’t your thing, maybe stay somewhere else.

Everything! Staff were fabulous especially June who went out of his way to help us for anything we needed. He met us at the harbour and brought our bags to the villa, helped us organise transport home and took us out to pharmacy when I needed some antihistamine. They provide breakfast which was seriously the best breakfast we have ever had in Indonesia, and they also brings lovely afternoon tea. We were so impressed with the villa, it is beautiful, well maintained and super comfortable. They put on the lights at night for you and left us a beautiful flower display and gift on our last night. There was also drinking water machine which made life easy. Location is also great, just a stone throw away from the main shops. I truely Recommend you book as it was so good to have our own big space to unwind in when we felt like it, they even have Netflix!

Nothing! It was perfect

Staff are amazing and incredibly helpful. One of our shoes were broken and went out of their way to fix it for us. Thank you. Pool was awesome Breakfast was great as was the food. One afternoon the chef was away so the staff member went to the local restaurant to get us their menu and order us food.

Mosquito coils need to be checked regularly to change over Floor boards near the pool were broken and need some maintenance - potentially dangerous Hot water wasn't working until the last day of our stay - not much could be done about that though and also it's not really needed given it's so hot

1. Amazing and good hosts. Highly efficient and sweet People 2. Pool was good - good breakfast as well. 3. Bathtub and the room was something to die for 4. Wifi was quite good and you could spend a few hours on Netflix

1. Food has to be ordered from nearby kitchens (although staff was really helpful in getting us anything) 2. Location of the property is around 500-600m from the harbour and you might to travel via narrow lanes. Water got logged on these lanes during our travel due to rain. So it becomes difficult to cross water logged roads to get to the beach.

From the moment we arrived at Gili Air a member of staff met us at the harbour and walked us back to the villa which is about 2 minutes away and carried our cases which was lovely. The location of this hotel is amazing. Super close to both the centre of the island and the beach front. When we arrived at reception we were offered cold refreshing drinks and some cake which was delightful after the boat journey to the island. We were shown our villa which exceeded all our expectations. The bed was big and extremely comfortable. The room had big black out currents which was great as it gets light very early. The outdoor area was so secluded and peaceful, having breakfast every morning by the pool was the perfect start to the day. Breakfast was very yummy and its great that you text them your order the night before and time you would like it and they bring it to your villa. This was super helpful especially the morning we had to be up and out early for scuba diving as it meant we could still eat without having to walk and find somewhere for food so early. Around 4pm if you were in the villa they would bring some sort of drink and snack which was such a lovely tasty little treat. The staff were helpful and informative on things to do on the island and gave lots of recommendations. When it was time to leave they walked us back to the harbour again carrying our bags. Both me and my partner said this is one of the nicest places we have ever stayed both for the quality of the accommodation and the service from the staff. I would 100% stay here again and happily recommend it to anyone look to stay in Gili air.
