The hotel is in a central location and the room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was varied and good quality. We used the swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam and sauna which were all lovely.

Travelling in a party of two couples we arrived 1/2 hour before check in. Reception kindly advised that one room was ready and gave us the keys. We were advised that although breakfast started at 7.30 they were fully booked with several coach parties so we wouldn't be able to have breakfast until 8.45. We explained this wasn't acceptable as we were touring Ireland and needed to get an early start. The response was there was nothing that could be done, we could take our chances at a time that suited us but would have to queue for a table! A complaint was made to the Duty Manager the next morning and to her credit this was resolved. Customers travelling independently should not be disadvantaged compared to coach parties.

I thought it was all in all a great place to stay. The pool facilities were great to experience. Staff were really accommodating. Any request was never too small… even borrowing a pair of scissors.

I felt like it is probably getting slightly outdated. The room was slightly hot at night but then opening the window meant lots of car traffic noise during the night. I felt like it took forever to get to the lobby from the room, it felt like a maze every time. But all minor in comparison to the location and the overall experience.

The Maritime Hotel is a great place to stay in Bantry. We had a family suite, and it was great - incredibly spacious, with a balcony and a great view. Housekeeping was good. We only had breakfast on the first morning, but that was very good. The fridge, toaster and microwave meant that we could easily eat a good breakfast in our room on the other days of our stay. Housekeeping at the hotel is great, and the staff generally were very helpful and friendly. The pool is fantastic. Parking is secure and free. The hotel's location is very central.

It would be hard to say how our stay might have been improved. There was nothing we didn't like.

I have been to the Maritime many times before and it is a great place to stay as it is right in the town of Bantry and is great if your partner wants to have a different experience and you can meet up easily at different times. since my last visit the restaurant has been repainted and refurbished and looked lovely. Other areas now need doing but it is a big hotel. The hotel is well staffed and they are all very helpful. I like that they have continued to give other options for breakfast as you get tired of the buffet. They used to do daily specials and that was even better if you were staying for a few days. It would be good if they could bring these back.

I don't like the underground car park as the spaces are now too narrow for many large cars. It is difficult to do anything about it though, and I must admit it is a good facility to have. We managed to park in a gravel area next to the car park and that worked for us. My husband slipped badly in the bath on the last day despite having the bath mat in place. I don't believe that the bath had been properly cleaned previously. The receptionist was very helpful, however, with ice packs. The bedrooms are starting to look a bit tired and not easy to keep clean.

Breakfast was good. Coffee was good. Ate Dinner in the attached bar one night and it was good. The location for walking the town and then for launching driving tours is great. For Americans, note that many of the European hotels do not have air conditioning and the accommodations may feel stuffy. The rooms have windows that open. You can also typically find an electric fan in town.

The hallways were humid and stuffy with very little airflow. There had been a leak in the roof in one of the adjoining stairwells that likely contributed. This does not take away from the fact that the Maritime is a very good hotel.

The room we had was overlooking Bantry Harbour and Whiddy Island. The view from the balcony was lovely. It was very comfortable and quiet . We both had a great night sleep . We also very much enjoyed the live music in the bar that evening The breakfast in the morning was excellent. Finally we managed to have a very pleasant swim and sauna in the aquatic center. Towels and locker room facilities provided. All the hotel staff were very friendly . There’s also free underground parking which is very handy. Overall we had a very pleasant stay and would recommend the hotel to anyone staying in Bantry.

Nothing really apart from the findings one way around the hotel can be a bit confusing. However signs in the lifts and around the hotel are helpful and you get use to it after a short while.

It is walking distance to the centre of Bantry, and a good location for the local music festivals. Also within easy reach of interesting scenic sites along the wild Atlantic Way. Efficient and friendly staff especially at breakfast.

The decor is dark and shiny and the bed mattress was so soft that it could be in need of replacing. Also the pool and gym facilities are used by locals and non hotel guests( for a fee), and as such gets very busy.

Not sure if I specifically booked the room with the balcony but it was a life saver as we had our 11month old with us so was very handy when she needed a nap that we could sit on the balcony and enjoy the sun. I will definitely book a room with a balcony again for sure.

The right hand elevator was a big problem. The number 4 button does not work, I highlighted it to reception and they acted surprised but after talking to guests who were staying long term they said it's been like that for a long time so staff do know about it.

Good sized clean rooms. Ample choices for breakfast. Delicious food every time. Did not try the main restaurant but the breakfasts and food in the bar was terrific. Good facilities in rooms and the spa was lovely too. Only very minor criticism is the pool was a little too cold for our comfort. It was busy with adults and children so maybe it was just us. Would certainly stay there again and recommend to anybody.

only minor thing was swimming pool temperature a bit low for our personal liking

Breakfast was lovely, just make sure to book in the time the night before. Vegan breakfast options - milk for tea/coffee, vegan sausages. Manager also seemed very interested in improving vegan options and asked for brand recommendations. Big room, lovely bed. Bath in the bathroom

Little bit old fashioned/dark in the room - BUT decorated nicely nonetheless.
