Heir Island House is located in a beautiful spot, facing the bay and just metres away from a beach and a short walk from the ferry. We were given a warm welcome from the start by Claudia and Craig who looked after us attentively throughout our stay. The rooms were comfortable and very clean. For breakfast you are offered generous portions and the food was delicious. Although the pizzas are wonderful, as guests we were also given the choice of home made food.

The hosts are very friendly and accommodating. Continental Breakfast was good. Pizza was excellent..it’s not a ‘Pizza restaurant’..it’s the living room off the kitchen in the B&B. The ferry to the island runs only every two hours..it’s quite a walk to the B&B. Hosts kindly offered to pick up and they dropped back as well.

Bedroom very small, no wardrobe or dressing table. Very dated and frankly dusty. Also couldn’t open the windows in the bedroom which was a problem in a such a small stuffy room! The toilet flooded the shower room every time it was flushed. Towels are crispy with age and air drying.

Location is the reason you go to Heir Island - it's stunning, and quite away from the bustle of Baltimore. No shops, pubs or restaurants. Just lots of lovely walks and sea. Lodge is run by lovely young and hard working couple determined to do they very best they can. Breakfast was delicious.

If you are staying longer than a couple of days you need to bring food with you! There's no cafes, restaurants, shops etc and the lodge only serves pizza as a dinner - so I had a toastie sandwich as lunch for two days as living on pizza was not really a healthy option! The place is lovely but again they are overwhelmed by demand given there is nowhere else to eat and lots of locals coming over on boats for a pizza. Personally I could live without the pizza! And a salad or two would have been nice. But there's extremely limited resources there - so you want an isolated island you get it and can't worry about the lack of choice for food. But if going again I would bring some food supplies. If you don't want noise ask for a room not overlooking the pizza oven.

Heir Island House is such a cool and unique place to stay! The hosts/owners are wonderful, and it's a real experience to take a ferry to this special little island with incredible natural beauty. Highly recommend!

Everything was brilliant some easy tips the room could do with a lamp and a mirror in the bedroom.

We finished our Wild Atlantic Way adventure with Craig and Claudia and it was amazing. From start to finish they couldn’t do enough for us. We had everything we needed and then some. The island was a little piece of heaven with the locals so friendly and helpful. So comfortable and homely I couldn’t recommend it enough. Thanks so much to you both (and Millie 🐶)

Very high quality food, carefully thought out and well presented. Lunch and the evening meal were equally high in quality and well presented.

Everyrhing.. Craig and Claudia were fantastic hosts ..kind and hardworking people!The bedroom was clean airy and spacious!It was a great to stay in the roaring water lodge! The food they served was amazing also!We already can't wait to get back 😊

Lodge was 100% dog friendly, would highly recommend for anyone travelling with a dog. This was great as so many "dog friendly" places aren't as accommodating as they claim. Dinner and lunch was fab and the warm scones with cream for breakfast were great! Availability of Chromecasts in the rooms is a great idea.
