The hotel was quite good, and it had excellent facilities (lobby, restaurants, active club and pool area). The room could have improvements, it was a little dated, bathroom too, but they were clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. Breakfast was really good and exceeded our expectations. The buffet area and restaurants were beautiful, and the staff was helpful and attentive. The children's menu was quite impressive, I had never seen so many options for children in restaurants. The pool area had a nice children's pool, and the reception desk staff was great too. I would recommend a stay there (couples, families with children) and would stay again in the hotel.

The room was a little dated, bathroom too, they could be renovated (especially bathroom), but beds were comfortable. There were no outlets near the bed and my husband uses a CPAP machine to sleep. He talked to the reception staff, and they provided a long cable socket outlet and left it in the room, so all was resolved in a few minutes.

We really enjoyed our three night stay last week. I would have liked to have known in advance that your restaurant and bar were out of commission due to renovations. However your staff went over and above to make our stay memorable and I will consider a return visit.

Breakfast selection was good, the food was tasty, and the service was quick. Room was lovely. Staff were friendly and helpful. Pool area was clean and spacious and not too deep, with a separate kids section linked to the main pool. Nice jacuzzi, sauna room, and steam room. General decor of the hotel was tasteful.

Very happy really. The room was a bit warm during the night but was manageable and there was a fan in the wardrobe if needed. The lighting in the hotel bar was very bright which made it feel like you were sitting in someone’s kitchen rather than on a night out, and they didn’t have a cocktail menu but they had a cocktail machine with four options.

The swimming pool was fab, the presentation (decor) was so fresh and modern. Reception area was large, the bar good was a generous portion.

New systems for front desk so i would expect teething problems. I asked for receipt as I paid cash it took a while but it was a proforma invoice instead. We were not on list for breakfast and while I was there I got an email from booking.com to say I was a no show.

Nice quiet room equipped with coffee facilities and complimentary water which is no longer a given with 4 star hotels and I really appreciate. Comfy beds. Breakfast had good options and was served to you at the table which was nice.

Sausages at breakfast could have been better quality. A little expensive but par for the course in Kilkenny and better than other places we have stayed at same price.

Room size, staff friendly helpful and courteous. Spa and gym absolutely excellent. Good breakfast. Hotel location and car parking excellent.

Decor needing a lot of touch up in dining room area.

The hotel is a lovely central place to stay food and staff were excellent. Checkin was a little on the late side at 4pm. However checkout was at 12pm. Room was spacious and clean. All the staff were lovely apart from one male cleaning staff

I was quite unhappy with a male cleaning staff barging into my room at 12pm on the button no knock or otherwise and he wasn’t one bit apologetic about barging into the room unannounced.

Very convenient location. Very nice welcome at reception, we got a room upgrade to an adult only floor which was a great bonus and we appreciated it. It was an extremely comfortable and spacious room, really well laid out and nicely decorated, we would rate it as one of the top hotel rooms we have stayed in for comfort, space and design features, even surpassing some rooms in hotels abroad that are 5 star! The same applies to the bathroom with plenty of floor space and shelf space. Our stay had a relaxing ambience due to the space and comfort! The bed was super comfortable, the corridor and the outside of the hotel was quiet so we had a good night's sleep which is a plus at any hotel! The little touches like mineral water in the room and little coffee biscuits and well supplied tea/coffee making facilities and extra's such as sanitiser wipe for the remote control etc shows there is good attention to detail. We had a really lovely dinner on the patio and breakfast was table service and the food and staff were excellent. Very good signage and sanitiser and social distancing etc in the hotel so they have a good handle on Covid guidelines. There was an issue with the key card for access to our room and the receptionist and manager addressed the issue as soon as possible. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and overall we had a very good and positive experience at Hotel Kilkenny and in our opinion it is excellent value for money!

That we were only staying for one night! There seemed to be only a drinks list available with glasses of wine and none showing bottles available. We ordered a bottle and the waiter was a little slow to bring it and then just left it on the table without opening, pouring or offering us a taste. It may have been that we were on the patio and so it is maybe less formal than the bar/dining room. It is a minor issue but maybe some extra training would benefit. Aside from that everything was wonderful and we would return without hesitation.

Hotel facilities were fantastic,

We were there for the comedy show, awful lot of confusion between security staff an the bar, lower bar staff were telling everyone that wanted a drink to go upstairs to the skyline bar, only for the bar not to be open at all even though it was sign posted to say it was, even after the show it was a disaster to try get a drink, waited 15 minutes or more at time , but hotel its self was fantastic

We were able to check in an hour before the advertised time which was excellent as we were guests at a wedding there and really appreciated being able to check in early. The room was lovely and the staff were very pleasant and helpful.

We paid 227.50 for a double room on a Friday night without breakfast. The room was decorated well and was spotlessly clean. However we found it overpriced for what it was. Service in the bar was very slow.
