Very comfortable and fairly spacious with nice bathroom. Staff professional and friendly. Location very convenient to the castle with it's wonderful grounds, and not too far from rail station. Everything you require is a short walk away. Check out vendors on the walk near Kilkenny Castle (book online for that). Medieval Mile museum is also very informative and worth an hour or so visit (hint: get a coupon for that at the tea room when you visit the castle). Got some good food, drink and music at Matt the Millers, a short walk down to the bridge. Also enjoyed sitting out for a drink on the patio by the river at Kilkenny River Court Hotel. For a good lunch, try The Fig Tree Restaurant - classic setup with narrow store front and two or three levels of dining. The food was very good, including Caesar salad with vegetable protein goujons.

I like using stairs instead of elevator. Setup for stairs in the hotel a bit odd if you are on second floor or above. Have to switch from one stairway to another to keep going.

It was right in the heart of everything, it was our first time in Kilkenny. Breakfast was lovely.

What a mess dropping off our people. It would have been nice if assistance was offered. We had been excited about using the pool, but the hours were fairly short and it was hard to make it over there after dinner. But we tried, only to find out it was across the street and not even in the hotel. The prospect of having to shuffle across the street in our suits, wet after an evening swim was disappointing. A group of ladies moving about town at night in their wet suits in a foreign city was too much. I wish it was mentioned on the booking site. If it was I apologize in advance, as I missed it.

location was V good. Rooms were very clean

Disappointed that I had to leave the hotel to get a coffee. Barista was not there when I came down in the morning. The Maître D welcoming the guests for breakfast needs to tone down her voice, shouting and roaring at guests for breakfast was in my opinion, not very welcoming. A welcoming smile would have been more appropriate. In my opinion needs to do a course in appropriate customer relations. Her disposition would suggest it was not the place she wanted to be.

The room was very clean, the staff were very friendly and helpful and I liked the fact that you employed special needs staff. It was also close to the city centre. I would also like to thank staff for facilitating us with keeping my daughters injection safe in the customer fridge until Tuesday evening when she needed it

The breakfast hadn’t many low fat options and on the first 2 mornings the hot food looked very greasy so we didn’t eat it. I would like to suggest you set aside a room for people to leave cases in when they have to vacate their rooms as leaving them at reception isn’t very safe and we had to carry them around all day un til the last train that we were booked on, the reason I ask this is any other hotel I’ve stayed in has had this option

Fantastic central location for seeing Kilkenny! Parking for the hotel is also very reasonable. Felt safe walking back to the hotel late at night. Lovely spacious hotel. Breakfast was grand and staff in the morning working breakfast were very friendly.

It’s a popular hotel with a very central location - our room was a twin room and I would have felt it was a bit ‘battered’. Carpet had makeup stains and the bathroom could have done with a face lift. However this is not really the hotels fault - it’s just such a popular hotel and Kilkenny is a popular spot for stags and hens. I completely understand it would be hard to keep it right.

A good choice of breakfast options, including a vegan option. Car parking facilities at a very good daily rate directly opposite hotel door. 2 minutes walk from centre of town. A member of the group felt unwell on arrival and staff prepared a room and allowed early check in which was much appreciated. Very happy overall with our stay, happy to return again.

The vegan in our group would have liked an alternative option for the milk for tea and coffee in the room. Check in time feels a bit late, but with 12 o clock check out time it probably can’t be helped.

The hotel is perfectly situated for the town centre, on top of everything but without being on a noisy high street or surrounded by traffic. The parking system is a multi-storey across the road and the hotel have a very uncomplicated arrangement with them that adds on to your hotel bill.

We didn't get time to use the pool or spa facilities so I can't comment on those. The hotel rooms are very serviceable, clean and functional. It takes a lot for me to get excited about a hotel bedroom but the bathrooms good do with a little maintenance.

Great location in beautiful Kilkenny. Staff were very attentive. When we arrived and our room smelled of smoke from a previous guest. The staff responded promptly and we were immediately moved to another room.

Breakfast was lovely, a good choice of continental and Irish.
