Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good, although the same breakfast order came out served quite differently on 3 different days. must have had have 3 different chefs :) Room was clean and good condition although looked out over the back of the hotel (not much of a view) and could hear external fans in the room but didn't disturb me. Great stay overall. No onsite parking but the multi storey car park 2 min walk away was very well maintained and the staff there were very helpful too. Lots to see in the local area.

On the day prior to our stay I thought I would have to cancel the booking due to unforeseen circumstances. I spoke to Brendan on reception and he couldn't have been any more helpful. He dealt with my situation in a kind, professional and understanding manner. I ended up not having to cancel and we met Brendan on arrival and he was every bit as pleasant then. The hotel itself is lovely, fabulous decor and really clean and comfortable. We were staying for a concert in Nowlan Park and was only about a 15 min walk from there. We had breakfast in the morning before we left and we couldn't fault that in any way, everything was freshly cooked and as requested. We met another lovely member of staff there but I didn't catch her name.

Loved the location, the staff and the room. The hotel is only a couple of minutes from the castle and many of the bars. The staff are brilliant nothing is too much trouble for them. The room was clean and well organised but the windows could open a bit more to let air in. There was a fan on the ceiling and a portable one too but I just like to be able to open the windows. The continental breakfast was lovely and there was plenty of it. This hotel was great 👌

I have never had such a greasy breakfast, the egg was sliding on the plate as were the sausages. The scrambled egg on the second morning was beautiful.

perfectly centrally located in Kilkenny. across street from the castle and around the corner from the charming shopping streets that make the city what it is. staff is friendly and welcoming. reasonable overnight parking structure very close. nice breakfast.

rooms are nice & clean but fairly basic and not overly styled. the bathroom lighting is fluorescent which I’m not a huge fan of.

The location is right in the city centre a few minutes walk from the Castle + Gardens, Design Centre, historic streets with shops, pubs and restaurants and the River Nore but our room was quiet. The room was comfortable and well decorated. Breakfast was very pleasant with the hot items being prepared freshly for each guest and brought to the table. The historic character of the old building, a former bank, has been preserved especially in the traditional bar which has live music.. Reasonably priced parking close by. Staff are friendly and efficient.

The staff at the hotel were absolutely wonderful, both before and during our stay. The rooms were warm, quite spacious, and clean. The beds were very comfortable. There was water in the rooms in sustainable packaging, and good coffee facilities.

I appreciate the hotel is trying to cut down on single-use plastics, but I don't know why they can't provide separate shampoo and shower gel. I also think 4 star hotels should have better quality juice in their breakfasts- concentrated stuff just tastes so cheap! In general the breakfast buffet could have been better. The double beds were a bit small.

We were delighted to be upgraded to a suite thank you and feel ungrateful to comment but that’s how you improve. Unfortunately we found the heat in the suite unbeareable despite many fans and dial tuned down , we hardly slept also the furniture fixtures a fittings were very tired in this suite . But we would love to return and maybe theses issues would be addressed . We would like to say a special thank you for the lovely chocolate & persecco to help us celebrate our big anniversery .

I stayed here a few years ago since then the hotel has had a much needed makeover and a different management style has certainly improved the experience The room was pleasant and comfortable .The location is excellent near the main streets in kilkenny and is in the heart of the city making it easy to get around . The breakfast offered a wide choice of either continental or cooked all included in the b& b rate. I also liked the system of room sevicing and towel exchange wherby if on more than a 1 night stay you could choose wether you had room serviced or not if you chose not to you received a 5 euro voucher for use in the bar/food plus an extra euro was given to the hotels charity which was a great idea as win win for all the guest rec a discount the hotel saved on labour and washing costs the charity rec a donation a great innovation .

There was nothing to mention as far as dislikes.

Property is very central and ranks a "10" for walkability. Car parking off site, but you can park a few blocks away for a reasonable fee - at a public indoor parking lot all day, and night but no night time access. Seemed safe. Also, I believe motor coaches run regular routes to Kilkenny -a perfectly fine (and fast) way to arrive. The hotel is more of a traditional property with recent modern updates. They've done a good job of adding modern design motifs and colors in the lobby and the interior. Our room was fine too, but filled with traditional and formal, Queen Anne style furniture). We loved having the pub and restaurant with Irish singers directly off the lobby. We ate outside one evening for good plates and nice service. Cafes and restaurants abound on the surrounding streets. The town has several grammar schools, and it was fun to see local middle-school students walking to and from class. Also, a grocery store is walkable distance near the little shopping mall.

If you want quieter room, ask for back of hotel or higher floor. In our first floor room, we heard the social scene of Killkenny below and the music from the bar - which was fine for us, but probably not welcome for delicate sleepers. Also, if you're travelling in the warm weeks, ask for a fan for the room.

Excellent value for money. Lovely breakfast with a menu for the hot food as well as cereals, fruit etc. Our room was a lovely size and very comfortable with controllable heat and a fan .

Our room had a connecting door and we could hear the people talking quite clearly and I am sure they could hear us . Luckily our neighbours were not noisy so it wasn't a problem. Fantastic idea for friends or family sharing but a little awkward otherwise. Didn't stop us having a good night's sleep.
