Friendly reception. Organised a portable heater as it was chilly even when wearing fleeces and the hotel heating was off. Plenty of parking.

Downstairs bedroom was very dark & gloomy. The nicest seating area in the restaurant was blocked off and remained unused for both dinner and breakfast. A few people asked if they could use it and were told no.

Breakfast was excellent, The staff were extremely friendly and made you feel very welcome, The location and gardens were a lovely place to relax Free parking on the hotel site. Birr castle is a short drive away and deserves a visit. This is an ideal location for golfers , Roscrea golf course is right next door and Birr ,Templemore courses are short drives away.

The cup handles for our breakfast were much too small and difficult to hold.

The hotel was an outstanding country hotel and all the staff were helpful lovely people, they could not do enough for you. The reception staff we dealt with most of the time Stephanie and Celine were brilliant and a credit to the hotel and company. Breakfast was excellent as was the evening meal, well done to all.

We had a really lovely stay, we received a free upgrade to a suite as it was our anniversary and it is such a lovely room. The afternoon tea was amazing and really good value for money. Dinner was also really nice and very reasonable. Overall the food was lovely, room and hotel was very clean but the nicest part of our stay was the staff, so attentive and really friendly, from the receptionist to the servers to the cleaners they were all so nice and a credit you the hotel. Everything was great, including the breakfast. Rooms were attractive, very comfortable and very clean! There was a lovely garden in back to walk through. I would say all aspects of our stay there met or exceeded our expectations. Would definitely stay there again!

Nothing I didn't like. The Only thing is i went for a bite to eat at the bar in the evening and I had to wait for nearly an hour for food, it was understandable as it was very busy, and the food was amazing so no regrets. I went for breakfast the following day and I got my food in less than 10 mins

the hotel was really comfortable and in a convenient location. the room and general hotel was very clean. there is an EV charger on site that only requires the user to download an app- which was very easy to use.

while the breakfast start was nice and early the breakfast area was very quiet and it took a while for staff to come and take orders.

Breakfast was good but the breads used for toast etc is a little bit on the cheap brand it gets hard and dry when toasted the scrambled eggs I had were a little overcooked

The restaurant staff seem to be absent for long minute intervals I witnessed one couple get up and walk away because no waiting staff took their order at the evening meal time

It was a warm welcome and the room was very good except for the tv so reception dealt with it by upgrading us to a beautiful suite. We had a nightcap in the big bar before bed and all was good.

Breakfast was a little messy with not enough food available for our order. The toasters need replacing but the food we had was decent.

Delicious, freshly cooked breakfast served by friendly, chatty staff. Very comfortable bed and bedroom. Complimentary bottles of water a nice touch. Staff very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Very good value.

The hotel has an old world look, not very modern. But maybe that is part of its charm.
