Kates rest does everything it says on the tin! Comfortable rooms, which are MORE than adequate for the majority of people that will be staying there. Our room had a full kitchen, with fridge freezer cooker oven toaster kettle, all of it. It had a nice big bathroom with lovely new walk in shower. Oliver was absolutely fantastic! He made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. His help was invaluable, and we somehow managed to wangle breakfast from him everyday! Nothing was too much trouble - he was awesome!

The house appears to be slowly going through some refurbishment, so the rooms weren’t completely finished from decorating perspective - not that this affected our holiday at all. Signage at the end of the drive that is more prominent, might be advantageous, as driving up to it the first night, I drove past the entrance before I found it. There really wasn’t very much I didn’t like about it. Maybe, more privacy between rooms in the apartments might be nice, but not essential.

I wanted to get away from it all and this place was perfect for that. It's surrounded by miles of beautiful, animal-filled fields, farms and little places of interest. As well as curious cows, sheep and horses, I found deer and a donkey. Go walking for a few hours, and see what you find. I was in the smallest room and it had everything I needed for the few days I was there. It was still a good size, it was quiet and and it was comfortable. The star of the show here is the owner, Oliver, who helped me out a lot while I was there. He might be the nicest person I've ever met. He's considerate and thoughtful beyond what's reasonably expected and he genuinely cares about his guests. He's built up a lovely place, he keeps it immaculate and it should provide you with everything you need. My time in Kilkenny was made better because of him and Kate's Rest. You won't be disappointed if you stay there!

The room was spacious and very clean (my wife is asthmatic and often complains about pillow and duvets being dusty even in the best accomodations. She had nothing to complain here at Kate's rest and had a sound night of sleep). There was enough space for the kids to sleep and play on their own, a little kitchen with plates and cutlery proved to be very useful when we decided to have some take away food from Kilkenny on our second night. Rich continental breakfast with fresh fruits and plenty of options (cereals, toasts, jams & butter, cupcakes, tea, coffee, cappuccino etc..). Top notch B&B!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Kate's Rest Bed & Breakfast, and it was an unforgettable experience. Nestled in the serene hills of County Kilkenny, this charming B&B truly feels like a home away from home. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality by Oliver, the fantastic host. The room was spacious and offered stunning views of the surrounding countryside. We loved the terrace and the separate lounge/kitchen area which provided a cozy space to unwind after a day of adventures. The location is ideal for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. It's a short 20-minute drive to the city of Kilkenny, making it convenient for sightseeing while still enjoying the tranquility of the countryside. If you're looking for a peaceful retreat with all the comforts of home, I highly recommend Kate's Rest Bed & Breakfast. We can't wait to return!

We had the pleasure of staying in Kate's Rest and we had a great time! The apartment had a great kitchen and comfy beds and room, netflix and TV was also a great bonus, we had kitchens in both apartment and room and the garden was great for the kids to play in, Ollie is a true host and common sense kinda guy and very nice to chat with. He made sure everyone had breakfast breakfast in the mornings and everyone was looked after, everything was very clean and we had everything we needed, the house in a beautiful quiet area but very close to Kilkenny which is also worth a visit along with Urlingford and Freshford, there is a good fast food takeaway in Freshford which has good burgers chips and pizza and Da Enzo's Italian restaurant in Urlingford is also a great place for food. Will definitely try and stay in Kate's Rest again soon! Thanks again for everything Ollie

It was a pleasure staying at Oliver's Place! He was a splendid host, giving us all the info we needed. The mini apartment was perfect for me and my family, with all the tools and services we needed, big and cozy. The only Little flaw that i would Say Is the tiny sono in the toilet, but the huge shower makes up for It. The surrounding Is very silent and It's in a strategic point to reach more venues by car. I would like to highlight the variety and big ammoubt of the breakfast offerend, deliciuos. Thank you again for the staying and i would defenitelly suggest to stay here if you can!😃

The location was reasonably handy to Kilkenny, about 20 min. drive, and there were several castle ruins in the immediate area of interest to us. It was a quiet, peaceful 2-night stay, and the apartment accommodated us and our teenage son very well, with good value for the size. Oliver was lovely and provided a generous continental breakfast, much appreciated. Beds were good and we liked having a separate shower room.

Kitchen knives for food prep and tea towels seemed to be lacking. A floor or table lamp in the sitting area would give better task / ambient lighting.

Restful, remote, and quiet location, and the little kitchen space allowed us to make small meals in the room when we didn't feel like eating in another restaurant.

Our room was in the upper floor with a low, sloped ceiling at the edges. It was difficult to use the kitchen or dresser without occasionally bumping our head, and the bathroom mirror was mounted so low that I literally had to kneel at the sink to shave. If we stay again I will be sure to avoid the upstairs rooms.

Beautiful location, wonderful room, and Oliver was a wonderful host as well as incredibly gracious about me being MUCH later than I originally expected. Parking on site and the property is just far enough out of town to be a short drive away from neat things and still be able to see the stars at night.

I accidentally pulled into the wrong drive way which it took me a hot minute and a 98-point turn to get out, but that was more my fault for panicking than it was anything to do with the property/owners. If i had to nitpick anything, maybe add something bright so people that forget their glasses like myself don't do that 🤦‍♀️

A welcome from Oliver at the door and his help with anything we needed. The place was everything that we hoped for and a lot more. The accomodation would be difficult to beat we had a super bathroom with a new walk in shower with bottles of shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. A kitchen with an induction hob a fridge freezer and a microwave. Television in the main bedroom and the bed, oh the bed was just wonderful. In lovely area with a beautiful garden. Really I think impossible to beat.
