It was an excellent stay. I travelled for work and need somewhere to spend the night not to go back to Dublin and the hotel exceeded my expectations. Friendly owners, lovely room, quiet at night. In the morning I had breakfast in a luxurious Victorian dining room. Breakfast was pleasantly unusual as well, as I am not a big fan of the Irish breakfast (although that option was available as well should you want it). Overall, fantastic stay - I got back to my work commitments refreshed and in a good mood. Thanks a mil to the owners

The interior decor and architecture of the building was beautiful. The breakfast was delicious. I really appreciated the fact that the bread was homemade as was several items on the buffet. The food was sourced from local producers and it shows. Overall the ambience and the friendliness of the owners really made this stay an enjoyable experience. The room was nice and warm and the bed was very comfortable. BEST Sleep I've had in ages. Definitely staying in the Ivyleigh House next time I'm down that way. Thank you Dinah and Jerry for a lovely stay 😃

It is an almost 200 years old building so it has a special atmosphere what i liked. The host of the hotel is very nice person. Also the location of the property is very good, because it is close to main street with small shops and pubs and it is very close to rail station, what is very comfortable if you come to Portlaoise by train.

The towel rack on the bathroom door was broken, because it falls off as soon as you move it.

Gerry and his lovely wife were excellent hosts. Also there is the lovely grandchild Oisin. A beautiful house so well presented, warm friendly beautiful central location. Breakfast was a dream, juice, fresh coffee, fresh fruit, yogurts, granola, home made breads, and vegetarian Irish breakfast 😋 This house home lacks nothing. A beautiful stay with warm welcoming hosts I personally would highly recommend a stay here. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

When first checking in I was presented with the breakfast menu for the following days. It had a variety of options but as I was mostly using public transport I stuck eating cereal. It is also perfectly situated halfway between the train station and the main street, with a multi-story car park and cinema across the street.

there is no footpath outside the property gates, not the fault of the property but most likely town planners, as such when you leave be careful as you are walking onto a road. It has basic terrestrial television channels on the in room TV but as WIFI is provided free there are no issues accessing your preferred streaming service.

I stayed in the Lemon room in late June/early July. The B&B was just excellent in every way! The temperature was perfect. It was spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable. It was nice and quiet for my stay. All the facilities worked as they should. The breakfast was absolutely lovely. The host was extremely welcoming also! I really couldn’t have asked for a better experience! I have recommended Ivyleigh house to friends and I’d stay again without hesitation! It’s a fantastic establishment which is run exceptionally well!

There wasn’t one thing that I didn’t like!

The B & B was easy to find, we always use the post code on our GPS. The car park is directly beside the house with plenty of parking in the rear. It had good Wi-Fi. Our shower had the most water pressure that I have ever encountered. A wonderful Georgian town house. The breakfast was perfect.

The house is a beautifully presented Georgian town house with secure off-street parking within five minutes walk of the Main Street. Despite this the location proved quiet and peaceful. The hosts were friendly and efficient and the breakfast was delicious with an excellent choice of hot and cold dishes.

Everything was home produced...the cereals and fruits all were Home grown and freshly made... the full Irish breakfast tasted like the organic breakfasts the we ate long ago. Free range eggs and real tasty bacon and freshly made brown bread that was made that morning was delicious. A real change from the mass produced buffy tasteless breakfasts you are served in today’s hotels! Really enjoyed our stay.

This was our first time staying at the Iveigh House Hotel, Portlaoise, from the arrival to our check out time everything was excellent. The personal touches, greeting upon arrival, early check requested, a location with tons of character, centrally located and a breakfast which was superb, well done !
