Good bedroom size and facilities in it. Leisure club facilities were good. Food in bar area was lovely and on one occasion when wasn't good, staff gave recompense which showed they took issue seriously - thank you for this. Local attraction listed in booking emails received were a great help for organising places to visit during our stay. Choice at breakfast was good and catering for gluten free much appreciated. Water provide in rooms was great.

Room got hot at night even with window open or fan on. Some individual changing cubicles in changing rooms of leisure club would be good.

I had a very positive experience at the hotel. The room was very clean and in good condition. The staff were very polite and helpful in every way. I especially appreciated the free pool with a sauna, steam room, and jacuzzi. The pool was not busy at all at 8-9am, but I'm not sure how busy it is at other times. The room also contained free drinking water, coffee, tea, and biscuits, which were all replenished every morning. My kids especially appreciated the water in carton boxes, which was a nice and unusual touch.

The only two things I didn't like about the hotel were: 1. They don't have their own car park, so you have to use the public car park nearby, which is quite expensive. Some bookings include the cost of parking, but ours didn't. This wasn't a major issue for me, but it's worth mentioning. 2. You can only use the lifts to go to your floor and back to the lobby. You can't use the stairs. This was a minor inconvenience, as we were "caught in traffic" a couple of times and had to wait a long time for a lift. If the stairs had been an option, we could have just used those instead. Overall, I had a brilliant experience at the hotel, despite the two minor issues above. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

I booked this surprise night away for my daughter and her boyfriend for her 21st and a going away present before they head off to Australia . They loved their night away, very happy with their room and all the staff with exception to the male staff member who checked them in. He was a little abrupt and cool with them, said he couldn't find their booking but as soon as my daughter rang me in front of him to confirm the booking, he changed his attitude completely and couldn't be nicer to them. It was all very awkward and not a very nice reception to get. But from then on they said everything was lovely.

The hotel is lovely and everyone so so so friendly and ots central an walking distance of all shops pubs penny's ect but our favourite thing was dinner it was beautiful and staff are amazing in the charter bar especially a young blonde girl she was great had the banter and made us feel right at home as she did other customers we never got her name bit im sure she'll know who she is she was so so kind could t do e ough for us anything we needed she got the hotel should be proud and os so lucky to have such a wonderful young lady working there in the charter bar she was well mannered funny and above all went above an beyond for the people dining there excellent will go back again and other staff could learn from her

Theres nothing indidnt like it was perfect

Staff was very friendly and kind, from reception to the housekeeping. The room was very clean and spacious. We loved our breakfast. For dinner, we went to Stake House, the food was amazing, and the service was very friendly and fast. I think between our starter and main, we only had about 10 minutes to wait. The same happened with the desert, so we asked to take it to our room, and our waitress brought it securely packed, with spoons and napkins. Great attention to detail.

I think our one bit disappointed was the swimming pool area. First of all, we knew that sauna is under construction, but all the area with their reception, some corridors and lifts would need a bit of makeover. It wasn't as cosy as it looked in the pictures.

Exceptional customer service and although the hotel felt high end it had a nice relaxed atmosphere. We visited over Easter and on our first night we were surprised to find the Easter bunny had left behind a treat and drink for each of our daughters. I'm already looking forward to visiting again.

The menu for the restaurant was not readily available unless we asked for a physical copy before deciding to book a table. Several dishes were not available, but this was after the dinner rush. Considering these are the only negative things I can think of to say I think the hotel is brilliant.

We'd booked a twin room, got a double. Rang reception and they sent someone up straight away separate the double and dress both beds. They were so comfy, 2 folks that don't sleep so good actually had 2 great nights sleep. The hotel is beautiful, we used it as a base for travelling to Dublin for a match. Was perfect. The food we got in the bar was also beautiful. Staff all over the hotel were lovely, each one was so friendly and helpful.

Only thought the price for parking was a lil steep. €16 per day, cost us €32 altogether. Otherwise, every was brilliant.

Myself and partner stayed 3 nights all together. The rooms were very comfortable and cleaned daily to a very high standard! They even washed my mug that I had brought with me! Staff were very friendly and helpful. We had breakfast at the hotel which was delish and waiters were quick in taking our order and also bring our food out to us. There was a great selection at the buffet that you could also choose from! Over all we had an amazing stay and will highly recommend to anyone!

The only thing that brought this stay down was at 8am we were woken up by very loud drilling and banging coming from above us that did not stop until we left. Although we were offered a late check out to make up for this unfortunately the noise was to loud to stay and we ended up checking out early. The lady at reception was very apologetic about this. Even though our last morning wasn’t great we will definitely stay here again!

Stayed here for two days to attend my niece's Confirmation. Staff could not be nicer! Special shout out to Claire on the Reception Desk who helped us out with a taxi booking issue and gave us a ton of useful information about Portlaoise Town. We got a double room and initially, I was concerned there'd be excessive noise issues due to the close proximity of the train station. No worries! Slept like a baby on a comfortable bed. Room service/breakfast was absolutely gorgeous and arrived piping hot. The price of drink in the Charter Bar was VERY reasonable and I cannot recommend the nearby Kelly's Steakhouse highly enough- easily the nicest steak dinner I've had in years. The food in the Triog Restaraunt was also superb. All in all, a lovely, relaxed, comfortable stay was had by myself and my aunt. Definitely hoping to come back again soon!

My only complaint is fairly trivial. I think the plumbing/ taps for the shower could've been updated as the controls were fiddly and confusing. Otherwise, no major complaints!

Hard to say in only few words! Absolutely amazing staff, super helpful and so friendly. Room super clean, everything we needed we had there. Fabulous food ( dinner in the bar - amazing and breakfast next morning delicious, kids loved the pancake maker specially :D ) Susan, who brought us to our breakfast table is absolutely amazing lady, so helpful and caring. Thank You to all staff - We definitely be back to Midlands Park Hotel. Traveling from Sligo well worth it 👌 We can very highly recommend Midlands Park Hotel👏👌
