We can tell you that the staff are amazing. In this day and age when the pace is so fast it is lovely to go in the door of The Granville Hotel and feel that you are important and the staff have all the time in the world just for you. At this point I would especially like to mention Fiona at reception. She was our first contact with staff and she was exceptional in how she sorted us out. We had an issue with a One4All voucher and she calmly sorted it out with the help of a male colleague who unfortunately we did not get his name. Afrer all that the bar staff, restaurant staff, housekeeping, and everyone in between were very very nice and helpful. We have to mention the kitchen crew who turned our fabulous food from breakfast to dinner. As you can guess , we were very impressed and would highly recommend this hotel .
Very little.! The hotel was perfect .We had a huge room 211 only fault was no air conditioning, but in their defence the hotel supplied a fan in the room which was a great help. Only other issue was the sea gulls ! which the hotel could do nothing about., but those birds like to "sing " early.

From the moment we arrived we were greeted by a lovely girl on reception. Our room was beautiful and exceptionally clean. A special thank you for the lovely birthday plate & card for my partner which was in our room when we arrived, he was delighted & it set the bar for our 3 day stay. Bed was very comfortable. but if I one tiny complaint it was the towels were too small would have preferred a bath sheet. Breakfast was lovely and we had a meal in the restaurant for my partners birthday and it was top class. The staff were incredible friendly & professional, can I give a special mention to the night porter I didn't get his name but he was such a lovely friendly professional man. All in all we had a lovely stay & we will definetly come back again.
The towels were too small.

Very friendly and helpful staff. room very comfortable suit. good location in the City. Last time we were there was 25 years ago. with my Mum and dad plus aunties. All no longer with us. my mum and dad spent their honeymoon at this hotel back in 1948.
Price of breakfast was very hi compared with the rest of Europe. Although service was good the breakfast was a bit of a disappointment. for the price we paid for the room for three nights i would have expected the breakfast to have been included. we would be reluctant to stay again as there are better deals in the city which include breakfast.

Location is exceptional. Within walking distance of everything! Wonderful view from the bedroom window. Exciting to watch the development of the Greenway along the Quay, and the proposed Pedestrian Bridge across the estuary to link up with the Railway Station. The breakfast is the best I have ever had! Great choice to suit all ... vegan, gluten free, plant based etc. Very helpful friendly staff. Very relaxed dining room with REAL cloth table coverings! I had chia fruit pot and Plaice .... a real treat!
The hotel Lounge is a bustling meeting place. A large busy lounge area serving food all day. The food is very good and staff here are extremely efficient and very friendly BUT ...... I would like a bar area where the smell.of cooked food is not in the air .... a space serving tea and coffee and bread/cake and a food free space to enjoy an afternoon/evening drink! Then it would be the Best Hotel in Ireland!!

The Granville Hotel is situated opposite The Quay right at the heart of Waterford, which is an excellent location from which to explore Waterford. It is everything you would expect from a top class hotel. The room was clean and comfortable and the ambiance of the hotel is excellent, with a fascinating history to learn about. The staff are very friendly, polite and helpful. The breakfasts are very good and although we didn't have dinner in the restaurant, we did eat excellent meals in the comfortable bar area, where they have a very extensive menu.

I have stayed at The Granville on a few occasions so familiar with the hotel, the restaurant ad the brilliant breakfast. This time I opted for a standard double which was fine but I previously stayed in one of the Executive rooms at the front of the hotel. The evening meal was excellent and we opted for the 3 course option. The breakfast was as ever superb and this time I opted for the Waterford Eggs Benedict served on a Blaa ( much better than a muffin). I did not specify how I would prefer my eggs but was not disappointed as served exactly as I like and expected (soft yolks). The hotel were also accommodating as we had some chilled food with us that we wanted refrigerated overnight, we were hoping to have a fridge in our room but was not present in the standard room. The hotel stored in their kitchen fridge.
The room was very warm ad I tried turning the radiator off, however, this didn't work. I mentioned to reception on checking-out and they informed me there was a thermostat I should have turned down and this is the only way to control the heating. The cost of the room and restaurant was more than I was expecting, I believe I paid less the previous time even though stayed in a more expensive room option. Parking is in the public car park across from the hotel. The hotel will validate the ticket and previously waived the overnight charge, this time the cost is now reduced to 4 Euros.

Staff are extremely helpful and friendly. There is a lovely large bar area, the only downfall was they didn’t sell any snacks such as crisps and peanuts and there is no vending machine in the hotel. There was an electric velux window in the room but no instructions on how to use it and the tv remote didn’t work properly. The room was quite big with a nice en-suite but the beds and pillows were extremely firm and not to my choice. The tv could do with upgrading to a smart tv to give guests more variety of channels. There was a good cold selection for breakfast, with a menu for hot food.

Lovely King Room in this elegant hotel on Waterford's Quay side. Spacious and spotless room and surroundings with an inviting bar and restaurant. And the staff were friendly and efficient too. A point of interest, whilst in the town I bought a book about the Irish Civil War, inside of which was a photo of the self same hotel portico with a group of government soldiers taken in July 1922
Only one small criticism is that the kitchen could try a little harder with their vegan sausage cassoulet. It might have benefited from a splash of red wine, some marmite even (for umami whoomf), puy lentils and even a splash of the black stuff. Vegan doesn't have to be bland, sorry.

The receptionists were welcoming, friendly and helpful - same with the domestic and catering staff. Room was comfortable and restocked with supplies daily. The hotel was quiet and cosy. Lots of information about the history of the hotel and the surrounding area.
Bar service was a bit ambiguous - not clear whether it was service at a table or service at the bar, but there was a good range of drinks available at reasonable prices and the staff were friendly so this isn't a complaint.

I loved that the staff was extremely helpful, place was clean and was good to stay with the bar being extremely handy and had great food.
Above my room were the stairs so whole night someone kept stomping up and down and that could be heard. Moreover whole night someone kept tapping on my door unnecessarily. I missed the breakfast because of it since I slept in. I dunno if breakfast was included but not worth missing something good because of such reasons. But would nonetheless come back and stay here.
