Every member of staff I encountered from check in to check out went above and beyond to help me. I was attending my best friends funeral and flew into Waterford on my own the day before Christmas eve. I don't know if the staff were aware of the reason for my visit as my friends funeral had been in the news but I did not feel alone once I had arrived. I received so much compassion and care from the hotel. It really helped me get through my trip and do what I needed to do. I am forever grateful for the amazing people that are employed at the Tower Hotel.

Location, free parking
Slow and relaxed waiters during breakfast. They preferred to chart in groups at the entrance to restorant, to clean the tables and offer water and coffee.

Friendly staff at checkin and when delivering room service, room was nice and clean, central location was ideal.
When I ordered room service, lady on the phone was quite rude and abrupt and said you'll be waiting over an hour, which I said was ok yet the food arrived within 15 minutes.

The location is ideal. The staff were friendly and helpful. Free parking was VERY useful and reduced the stress during my self-drive tour of Ireland. Treat yourself to breakfast. On a fine day the views of harbour, town and medieval tower from the first floor restaurant are wonderful. I was travelling with my 85year-old, partially sighted and deaf mother. We arrived two hours earlier than planned but the staff found us a room immediately and with a minimum of fuss.
My stay at the Tower and in Waterford was too short. Tower is an ideal place to stay to explore a charming and fascinating part of Ireland.

The location is key with this property - we were able to walk to all the sites we were interested in seeing, including the Waterford Crystal Factory (which is actually an exceptional tour). We ate unbelievably great food in this city and visited wonderful pubs. The bar in this hotel is fabulous - we loved the bar tenders and discovered their signature drink . . . a whiskey sour. Don't pass it up!
I don't remember disliking anything about this hotel, except that some of the front desk personnel could have been friendlier. (The bar tenders made up for whatever they were lacking.) I do remember thinking that our room location was less than desirable, but that's bound to happen sometimes.

I arrived to find two weddings and a hen or stag party in full flow! I But the staff were really on the ball. My room was spotless. The bed was huge, the bathroom clean and with modern fittings. The breakfast buffet worked very well even though with the large amount of guests staying the dining room was full for the entire duration of breakfast. (I stayed a while down there as I took up only a small table!) Even though the staff at the dining room were probably weekend workers employed for busy times they all were very courteous and knew what they were doing.
A fridge in the room would have been a good addition. Not a mini bar just somewhere to put cold drinks or milk as I was there on the August bank holiday weekend. A few of the channels listed didn't work on the TV. Also, young children did run up and down the corridors till almost midnight on the Sunday playing. While this is less the fault of the hotel than the parents, staff might have been able to have a word with them and locate the parents and see if they could have been asked to keep the noise down.

This a lovely hotel. We've stayed in a few nice hotels in Waterford city over the years, but this was our first time staying in the Tower and it's our favourite. There's a nice atmosphere in the hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean, comfortable and spacious, with a big bed and a very luxurious shower. We paid 10 euro each for breakfast, which was well worth it - an excellent spread, which included several gluten free options. We also enjoyed some drinks and a snack in the bar, which was very pleasant. Finally, the location of the hotel is absolutely perfect.
Nothing negative springs to mind.

Location, exceptionally helpful and friendly staff, comfortable, clean.
We had breakfast on our first 2 mornings. It wasn't great, I'm afraid, so much so that we avoided the hotel breakfast on our third and final morning. The sausages in particular were awful and tasted like they were out of date. The bacon was completely tasteless. The bread used for the toast was at least 2 or 3 days old and the brown bread ( I think it was McCambridges bread) again could have been a few days old, again tasteless - like eating cardboard. Such a pity as the hotel is very well located and the staff are so friendly and helpful.

We travel to plenty hotels and there is nothing better then great happy, bubbly staff, the kind that welcome you with a smile when you book in and book out it makes you stay must better.
The only thing we both didn't like is, even though it's quick service is, as soon as we finished our soup the main course was brought straight out literally 2 minutes later, our soup wasn't even in our belly and we had to start the mains. We felt rushed and then bloated from our food not settling so I think in my opinion is ask the customers if there ready for there mains before bringing it out. Other than this the food was lovely. Also there is a lot of lactose customers like myself who would love a dairy free ice cream desert which you don't have on your menu, maybe this is something you's could add to the menu in the future.

Breakfast was good and a good value; we had it every day. Plenty of selection on the buffet: cereals, breads, fruits, sausage, bacon, multiple options for eggs (you can even order freshly poached if you like), pudding (both kinds), potatoes, tomatoes, pancakes, oatmeal, baked beans, jellies and jams, toast to order -- white or wheat, freshly made and brought to table, and coffee/tea/juices. I probably forgot something! Fantastic location to visit the old Viking city area, or Waterford Crystal, or to walk along the shore and shop. The museums are directly across the street (2 minute walk). Parking was as expected and we found spaces every day - they cannot guarantee space but it wasn't a problem for us, and if it had been full there are close locations for on-street parking which would have worked. Cleaning was prompt, hotel staff went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed.
We chose a room with a balcony - note that there are two balcony sizes and you'll get whatever they pick if you don't ask for specific size. Rooms 210, 311, 410, and 511 have the larger balconies. 211, 310, 411, and 510 have the smaller ones. Learned that when we checked in, but the staff doesn't differentiate. The view is great, but the smaller balcony isn't big enough for a chair if you decide you want to sit out on it (we didn't - it was cold and rainy). They were willing to let us change rooms if we weren't happy, but it turned out that it didn't matter to us: we got 211 with the smaller balcony but the large picture window allowed us to sit inside and enjoy the view anyhow!
