Lovely old fashioned hotel. The staff were very accommodating, pleasant and helpful. Nice room on the third floor accessed by a wonderful old lift if you didn't want to use the stairs. Large. clean, well supplied bathroom with bath and shower and plenty of hot water and good quality towels. Heating in the room was easy to adjust. Useful multi plug for charging laptops, phones etc. Fresh milk available in the room on request. The hotel was situated at the far end of the promenade which made parking easy. It would have been difficult to find a space further into town.

The attached restaurant was not part of the hotel as such but breakfast was served there. The first morning breakfast was cooked to order and was great. The second morning was a buffet, as it was the weekend, and this was very tired by the time we got there. We didn't get breakfast on our last day as we had to leave for the ferry and no arrangements could be made to have anything earlier than 8am.

Well positioned on the seafront, only a little walk into Douglas. The staff were always very helpful and the rooms were very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was a good sized buffet and staff always friendly and helpful. Restaurant food at L’Expérience was also really nice.

Nothing! The only thing that would have made it even better was if there was allocated parking, but there were usually several parking spaces available on the opposite side of the road we could use overnight, and reception were kind enough to provide a parking disc for us to use.

Location was excellent, convenience for travel by bus, near to the electric railway, horse tram. Staff were always friendly, helpful including in the restaurant. Breakfast was also excellent except once when it was not as good - probably nearer the time of finishing. Room was spacious - we couldn't get the Seaview room and bathroom was nearly as big as the room! Also got 3 day travel card which I would recommend for use on Buses - very frequent in this location into Town, electric rails, Mountain railway and Steam Railway. Opposite the beach helps for walks and also has pubs nearby!

Room curtains were difficult to draw close so light was coming in. Shower was powerful but head could have better options for even shower. Tried to book Seaview room which would have made our trip excellent, but had to cancel this as it had no private shower.

Location good, and had a room with sea view as requested. Room cleaning was very good. Staff very friendly and efficient.

The breakfasts were not good, as food left in heating trays rapidly cooled and dried out, and choice was limited (for instance no continental breakfast option which would have sorted out the poor hot storage). Coffee was always lukewarm, whereas tea was hot and freshly brewed. The restaurant was closed on Sunday and Tuesday, and bar snacks only offered. We had one meal which was tasty and well presented, but had to wait 45 minutes between courses. Wonderful vintage lift was fun, but anyone with the slightest claustrophobia should ask for a first floor room.

The hotel was centrally located to visit any part of the Isle of Man, the decor was lovely and true Regency style, my bedroom on the 4th floor was quiet, comfortable with a shower and tea making facilities, free chilled bottled drinking water, tv and DVD player. The lift was small and quaint but did the job. The restaurant was superb with a good choice of dishes. Bar food, which again was beautifully cooked and presented was also available. My only criticism would be that it didn’t have it’s own car park but I understand that this probably applies to most if not all the hotels along the Promenade due to the fact that when these hotels were built, around the 1890’s, car parks weren’t thought of and also there is a sheer rock face behind the hotels making it expensive or impossible to build backwards. All in all, helpful staff, lovely building and excellent food.

Hair drier! Bring your own as it is one of those situated in the bathroom that takes an age to dry your hair!

The staff were all very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was very good. The building is beautiful with many period features.

Unfortunately the hotel is looking quite tired, our room had very worn carpets and curtains, stained bedding and shower curtain and dirty paintwork. We had a lovely sea view which was obscured by extremely misted windows. The cleaning staff do their best but a lot of updating is needed.

I've been known to say that the Victorian hotels on Douglas promenade need knocking down. However the level of detail given to the rooms and the guest's stay here are fantastic. Exceptional breakfast.

Check in and out was very easy and quick. However this felt a little unfriendly. No offer of help or "how was your stay" when leaving. It was ****ing great actually. Oh, you didn't ask so I couldn't actually tell you this. Lift is very small but it works.

Fascinating old style elevator. Nice decor. Great bed. Good breakfast. very powerful shower with loads of hot water. Helpful staff, as the man at reception walked outside with me to point me to the railway station. Easy check in and out.

The only real downside was the room was airless, even with the window open. Needs more air circulation somehow. I might suggest they consider a few self-catered items at breakfast, like juices, coffee/tea, and cereal, instead of everything being served.

The property is exceptional there is nothing to fault and the staff are all excellent. I messaged ahead to ask about taxi availability at the airport and rather than just a reply I had a telephone call from Tony saying he would arrange for a taxi to collect me, super customer service . The atmosphere within the public areas of the hotel is charming and the quality of the breakfast was excellent with again great service from the staff. The room was large and comfortable with a lovely sea view.
