Really liked staying here. The gentleman (sorry, I didn't catch his name) on reception was very friendly, the room very comfortable and spacious, the shower powerful and the wifi fast. Nice to have a small fridge in the room! The price was good too. Would recommend!

The pillows were quite hard and the elevator was a squeeze to get 2 people and 2 small backpacks inside, but these were minor issues.

Cozy hotel located quite conveniently in the middle of the Douglas coast promenade. The bus stop is just a 2 minutes' walk, just like the convenience store. The apartment we stayed at was clean, quite spacious, had a nice view of the hills and the sea and was well equipped - a cooker, dishwasher, oven, microwave, fridge, kitchen utensils. We only missed a washing machine. ;-) The beds were a bit soft, but stil comfy. The breakfast was partially a buffet and partially served full English breakfast.

The curtains were pretty thin so the sun would wake us up early in the morning. We were really unhappy about that. I would strongly recommend the management to fit the rooms with proper curtains, as the current ones are more or less useless. The staff were generally very nice, but when serving breakfast, they tended to be ineffective, chaotic and slow.

Unexpected sea view from room, lovely breakfast, comfortable bed, easy to use shower and hot water (though shower cubicle a little small), someone on reception most of the time.

Removing complimentary toiletries on eco grounds very suspect. More wastage occurs when guests have to buy either small plastic containers of shower gel / shampoo, or larger containers which cannot be taken on board a plane so get thrown away. Saying that a stock is kept at reception for "emergencies" is not acceptable - "if required" would be better, "emergency" is last resort. Putting refillable non-plastic supplies in the bathrooms would be even better. Many visitors travel by (non eco-friendly, I know) plane and the travel restrictions on liquids mean that toiletries are not added luxuries.

The location of the Wellbeck is excellent, basically bang on in the middle of the prom. The choice of breakfasts is fantastic, catering for every need and request. I had Manx kippers everyday. The staff are very friendly and attentive.

Not a lot really, the lifts are quite small, but it is a Victorian building, (and all the better for it) so they have to fit the available space. Because the corridors are quite narrow, (again constrained by being an old building) it may not suit folk with a disability. Although all these points are mentioned on their brochure, so I actually have no complaints.

The proprietors were wonderful to deal with over several plan changes. Meals (breakfast/dinner) were served in a wonderful "sun room," well prepared with good food options. It's only a block off the promenade (though up hill) and its convenient bus stop. They run both a "hotel" and "apartments" so there are numerous sleeping options.

This is actually the consolidation of three buildings so getting from one to another was what the kids called a "rabbit warren"... more fun than a problem once you learned your way around or if you're only in one room (our multi-generational group had three.)

The apartment was very well set out and felt secure. Had a bit of a sea view. More or less everything you could need was in the kitchen area, including a few tea bags, coffee etc. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and the chef was very helpful with regard to dietary needs. We had one evening meal here which, contrary to our expectations, was actually a little cheaper than some of the local restaurants. Overall, a good hotel. Would consider using again.

Short but steep hill up from the promenade to the hotel, but then nothing in Douglas is flat once you leave the prom!

Room was really spacious and had a lovely sea view. Bed comfortable and a bath in the en suite. Location very convenient, just off sea front and near to bus stop

The hotel was excellent so there was nothing that I could really say I didn't like. It is a traditional old seaside building so there are the usual little corridors over 4 floors but there was a small lift. Breakfast area was partly under a conservatory type extension which was a bit noisy as we had heavy rain but really the hotel was excellent, clean and well decorated, - fantastic value for money.

We arrived at the Wellbeck around 9am, exhausted having spent a night at Dublin airport, due to the timing of out flight. Not only did the lady at reception upgrade us to a bigger room she settled us in the lounge with a tea tray to relax while the room was being made ready. Beautiful big room with a sea view and my husband loved watching the ships come in. I enjoyed the bath, TV, Fridge, Kettle and a little lift to go up to the 3rd floor. The bed was sheer luxury as was the room service. We had two dinners at the hotel. They were reasonably priced and adapted to gluten free for me. I don’t give an excellent rating lightly but this place really deserves one.

Lovely bright breakfast room. Excellent porridge, Manx kippers, eggs and croissants. Our bedroom, a superior room, was lovely: very spacious and comfortable with windows on two walls and a view to the sea. The owners and staff were helpful, friendly and accommadting. We felt very welcome. Location is excellent - on a quiet street just off the promenade. All the attractions if Douglas were within easy walking distance.

The shower took a long time to warm up. Once it had warmed up it was great, powerful with plenty of hot water

The hotel was spotless and the facilities were excellent. The choice of meals was very good. The staff from the owner Irene and her sister were wonderful as was Nico who welcomed us, served us breakfasts and drinks in the evening and even gotup extra early so we could have breakfast before our early ferry

Parking was difficult - as it was on street but we were lucky to get a space right outside the hotel so we left our car there and used buses and trains and lots of walking
