The location is fantastic, only a few steps away from the "Duomo", close to the train station, and ideally situated for walking through the winding centuries-old Florentine streets. The options for dining and wine are too numerous to count - I found quiet, side-street trattorias with great food, less expensive, and with terrific wines by the glass as opposed to the noisier and crowded restaurants located where being seen is more important than enjoying a fabulous dining experience.

My only issue: no iron in the room nor available by request. I am not clear why this is so but the desk has been instructed to say it is a matter of "security". Balderdash. Sending clothing out for cleaning and ironing was not only a challenge but ridiculously expensive. In my 42 years as a manager in the hospitality industry, I never worked for a property that did not have irons at least available for guests to use, even at a remote fishing lodge in Alaska.

You literally couldn’t beat the view from our room. We were one block from the duomo. You didn’t need to worry about losing your key because you left it at the desk when you left. Breakfast was nice. There was a little outdoor area off the lobby. The staff was fantastic! It had elevators! AC!

Leaving the key also meant we had to ask for it back which wasn’t bad but we felt like a bother. Elevators were tiny and always felt like they would break but hey it worked! The beds weren’t the best and really needs at least one extra pillow. Breakfast could have had more options, one time i for a hard boiled egg and the next was soft boiled and cracked on the table.

You cannot beat this hotel in terms of location. A minute away from the dome and also within walking distance of almost all the major attractions in Florence! I simply loved the fact that we could walk to the dome piazza within minute at any given time of the day.

The staff was in general nice but one of the housekeeping staff broke a very expensive perfume bottle in my room while cleaning it and they did not offer any compensation for that. They were sorry but only a sorry for breaking an expensive bottle of perfume was not enough I would say.

The location of Hotel Dei Lanzi was fantastic, when you walk out into the street you can see the side of Il Duomo. Hotel was quiet and location made it so easy to get around Florence. It was very hot in August, so I could go back to hotel and have a nap before setting off again. Would definitely stay there again.

The reception area looks a bit dated and tired. Could do with some minor changes to give it a bit of a lift , but overall very happy with stay.

The location is absolutely perfect! It was a block from the Duomo. We loved the location. It was so easy to get to the major attractions in Florence. The bed was comfortable, and I really enjoyed the breakfast. They have you turn in your key every time you leave the hotel. I really liked this, because then I didn't worry about losing the key every time I am walking around Florence with the crowds of people. Some might night like turning in the key every time you leave, but I thought it was wonderful.

Was extremly satisfied with everything at hotel de lanzi, it was extremly clean, the ataff was extremly inviting, professional, kind and helped with all our needs. The breakfast was excellent, and the location eas right in the center of it all, very close to the T2 train station which took us directly to the airport and other great locations. Will definately book with them again. Loved our stay there!

Awesome view and location (near Il Duomo, 15 minutes walk from train station), next to shops and restaurants, clean room with all you need including great bathroom bench space, good breakfast, friendly and helpful staff. Fantastic bonus was having access to a rooftop terrace bar with amazing views of Florence. Enjoyed hearing Il Duomo's bells.

Would have been helpful to have somewhere in the shower to put soap and shampoo.

The view from the rooms is bad. At one room we opened the window and we saw the wall of the opposite building, from the other room just the roof top from the opposite building. It would be a "value for money" hotel if the cost for the double bed room was 90euro/night.

Breakfast ticked all the boxes. Muesli and yoghurt, toast with ham and a croissant to top it off. Perfect location. Could see the Duomo from the front door.

The city tax had to be paid in cash which we weren’t aware of. It had on our booking information visa/MasterCard accepted but reception informed us cash only. Very awkward as we didn’t have cash.

The location is very good, right in the center of Florence. staff very friendly and ready to help you, hot water all the time. breakfast was included.

for security reasons, you cannot use an iron and the property cannot help you with that. that’s a minus considering you are a traveler and you need to do this and look nice. if you are using the AC during the night, you might be surprised to find it off, because the property switches it automatically after some time. during summer time, this is not good at all. breakfast should have also some vegetables included, considering people are veggies nowadays.
