After looking at just about every hotel review in Florence on Booking.com to decide where to stay as a young female solo traveller, I finally settled on this one, and I'm so glad I did. The location was perfect - a 2 minute walk from the train station, on a beautiful little street that leads straight to the Duomo with lots of cafes and restaurants along the way (and a Carrefour Express a few minutes away). This was my first time travelling alone and visiting Florence, so it was important to me that I felt safe in my hotel, while embracing a bit of Italian culture. I stayed in one of the junior suites because that's all that was available when I booked, and it was absolutely huge. The ceiling in my room was spectacular, beautiful Italian decor, Smart TV in which you can login to your Netflix etc, and speedy free wifi in the room. The staff were lovely, and it's helpful that they can keep your luggage for you after you've checked out (my train wasn't until 4pm). Can't recommend enough, would absolutely return!

Bathroom could do with being updated, but it was large and extremely clean. A bathroom refurb is the only thing that could've made this stay better, otherwise everything was perfect!

Lovely character hotel, lovely staff,warm and friendly welcome everytime we entered the hotel. Room was decent size and comfortable, loved being able to log into my own Netflix account on the tv in the evenings. Nice breakfast and great coffee. location perfect for us as we travelled by train, 5 minute walk from the station and a 10 minute walk to that cathederal down a street lined with restaurants and another shop you would need.

The hotel is two blocks away from Florence's train station, and conveniently located on Faenza Street one of the main pedestrian roads which in a 10 to 15 minutes walk gets you to the Histroric District where one can enjoy visits to Florence's Cathedral (Duomo), Piazza della Republica, della Signoria (Uffizzi Museums), and the famous Ponte Vecchio overlooking the Arno River. First time at this hotel, happy to confirm that management pays close attention to customer satisfaction always making sure their customers get 5-star concierge services, with ample rooms and confy beds, and a great and varied breakfast menu.

I really loved everything. The location, the building, the room, price, staff, breakfast, everything was amazing. I was expecting to get the minimum with this price tag but i was completely blown away by how they give you such a complete service at this cost. Also the fact that they offer you to hold your luggage in a safe place so that you can tour the city with ease was really was a game changer. Anytime I'll come to Florence 100% am staying here and i 100% recommend it to everyone!!

Hotel Porta Faenza is in the city centre hotel, located in very quiet street close the Capella of the Medichi, Train station, and 5 minute walk from the Duomo. The staff is very warmly, the room is large and clean.

The hotel room was beautiful, very elegant and with comfortable beds, loved that the bathroom had a bathtub. A nice detail is that the room offers a nice TV with streaming options (Netflix, prime video) so you can feel right at home after sleeping watching a movie. The location is ideal very near from the Santa Maria Novella train station, it was really easy to arrive from the airport using the tram and also getting a train to go to another city, it was perfect. Thank you very much for everything, I hope we could stay again in the future.

Friendly staff and excellent location. The room is clean, airy and exactly as described. A nice, positive surprise was the water with mint at the reception. For those, like me, who like refilling the bottle that is definitely a plus.

The hot shower wasn't working but I didn't mind having a cold shower. I didn't not bring this to the attention of the reception staff when I found out it wasn't working. When I did the check out I let the staff at reception know the shower wasn't working and she was very apologetic and offered to sort out the problem immediately.

The hotel was in a good location, a short walk to the main attractions. The room was comfortable and even though we booked an economy double, there was enough space for luggage etc. The shower was hot and had good pressure. The breakfast was excellent…lots of options and always well stocked up.

The room was a bit hot and we were unable to turn down the thermostat (though we didn’t flag this with the staff so they may have been able to assist). While the hotel was by no means noisy, the walls seemed thin and you could hear people talking at night.

Location is close enough to walk to main historical attractions (San Lorenzo basilica, Galleria Academia, Duomo, Palazzo Medici Riccardi, Piazza Signoria, Ponte Vecchio etc... all within 5-15 minutes by foot). And in the same time it is just enough far to be quite zone. We had a room on the opposite side of the street and it was really quite. But I thin there would not be much noise even if we had a room to the street side. The entire hotel itself has somehow a medieval look, I learned it is really many centuries old. Even our room was like from 17th century. We stayed in the room 310 (third floor - elevator is very helpful). Room looked like a royal one. I generally don't like that style to live in, but here In Florence it is just perfect place to stay! You can feel Florence in the room itself already. Our two single beds were very good. They had just the right stiffness. Bathroom with a toilet and bide was comfortable, water was very hot if one needs it, the flow was strong, all really nice. We did not use the air condition very much, but we saw it works. Stuff is nice, you always hear them say bon giorno (or bona sera), they are really helpful. Breakfast is also very nice and has a lot to choose from. It sounds funny but I think I never had a better time in any hotel before. Once again, that medieval style is really something.

Ahh... If I really must split hears, I just missed a few more hangers in a closet. And that's it. Funny, ha? This just confirms how perfect we found the stay in Hotel Porta Faenza. Thank you, our Italian hosts!
