Our stay in the apartment was great overall. Our apartment was at 3rd level and at the corner of the Duomo and Via de’ Martelli — very good view of the Duomo any time of the day. Everything tourists like us need is within walking distance — shopping, food. The hosts were easy to talk with and respond and resolve any concern fairly quickly (e.g. I had issue with one of the cabinets and Sarah resolved it within the hour). We were also very delighted that, given the unusual timing of our arrival and departure, hosts were very accommodating in storing our luggages beyond our check-in/check-out times. The apartment was spacious for us — 2 rooms, 2 T&Bs (the shower area might be an issue for some guests because they were small but not an issue with us). It also had a small kitchen with all the basic things needed — dining and cooking utensils, pots and pans, stove, microwave, dishwasher. The queen sized bed in one of the rooms felt old but very comfortable for us (so no complaints there). There were earplugs provided in anticipation of the noise from activities at the Duomo but we welcomed the noise as we felt as if we were part of all the goings on. The noise did not bother us (besides we slept usually past midnight so it was quiet already by that time). An elevator was available — small but no issue with us as that was to be expected given the size of the reception area. As to be expected, the apartment is quite dated but that, for us, only lends character to the place.

None.

Our apartment Giotto has amazing views of the Duomo and The Baptistry and a city view, which was beautiful at sunset. The bedroom is huge with a comfortable bed and pillows.Kitchen was well equipped with utensils. You could not get a better location right in the heart of Florence's main attractions.. Just be aware it can be noisy at night if you are an early to bed person as the sun goes down late and there are a lot of people out enjoying the evenings. We loved Palazzo Gamba and definitely would recommend..

Only negative, which didn't really bother us, is it does get noisy at night till late.

We loved this Apartment. It was located on the 5th floor, which is a climb, and looks out into the Duomo/Cathedral and the Baptisery. The views are incredible. The apartment is spacious and clean with plenty of light. It was, by far, our favorite on our Italy trip. The apartment is part of an hotel/apartment building with a manned front desk that assists with check-in and check-out. It was pricey in comparison with other options, but, for us, worth the price. All of the tourist attractions are either right next door or close by. The train station is about a 10 minute hike.

The bathrooms are tiny, even for small Italian bathrooms, and clearly require some flexibility and cramping for adults unless you happen to be 5' tall and <100 lbs. If you are an oversized person, good luck trying to shower. Also, the apartment is LOUD given its location. The square is the liveliest location in Florence and you can hear the revelers into the night. If quiet time is important, then you will be better served by getting an apartment just up the street. The distances here are not very great, so a quieter location may still put you only a few minutes away (walking) from the main square.

Excellent location. Lift is available so you don't need to worry about carrying your luggage. Though the apartment has some years, can feel that the management tried very best to keep it in good condition and it's exceptionally clean. We also enjoyed the singing and music performance from the street, though we think people who used to silence may have difficulties to sleep at night (we are totally fine).

Only thing is most electricity socket maybe an older style ? which cannot fit the plug we bring along. Can only use the socket of microwave and another one in toilet. But we think that's minor problems not affecting our overall stay.

The location of the apartment was at the epicentre of Florence. We couldn't have been any more central. It became a bit of a joke that pretty much everywhere we wanted to go was between a one and a fifteen minute walk away. There was an amazing view of the piazza in front of the duomo from our windows. It was wonderful to drink a cup of tea and watch the goings on below. The apartment was large with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a spacious living/kitchen area with a gorgeous frescoed ceiling. It was spotlessly clean, the beds were comfortable and the showers were great. I have arthritic knees and the apartment was on the fifth floor, but there was a perfectly cute elevator to waft us upwards.

I liked everything!

Many of the reviews mention the excellent location, which is quite true. But just reading the reviews doesn't convey the absolute magic of literally looking out your window at Santa Maria del Fiore 100 feet away, and being within a 10 minute walk of almost everything in Florence. It's just incredible, worth every penny.

Several other reviews mentioned that the pillows and beds were not that comfortable, which we also found to be true. These would be easy upgrades for the property, and they should just pay the (small) price to ensure the complete comfort of guests. But we still believe these are minor issues compared to the absolutely fabulous location, which as I said is still worth every penny.

I loved that it was an apartment in a lovely old building, very well maintained. We were in the Giotto suite on the sixth floor. the bedroom was beautiful. Loved the the washing machine, (it’s amazing how fond you can get of simple things like that when on a longish trip.) There were lots of kitchen supplies, including a dishwasher. The property is very central and easy to walk to all the historic sites. The bells ring out every morning, but it’s a very comforting sound. And at night there is great street entertainment. But most of all it was the amazing staff, I e mailed to see if there was a toaster and Antonio bought one especially, How great is that? Sara was so helpful and we had a lot of little requests. It’s so nice to stay in an apartment and have a reception desk where u can get advice. They will clean the room when you want with no extra charge, and they really clean it. .

I would have liked a small coffee table but didn’t like to ask, as Antonio would have probably gone out and bought one especially.

This property is an exceptionally convenient location right across from the Duomo. The staff was nice . The room was spacious. Both evenings we were there people were playing guitar music on the square outside. The music was beautiful and relaxing, but no worries, we could not here it inside our apartment.

The beds were very hard. Almost like laying on the box spring instead of a mattress. A mattress pad or something to add a little softness would be nice.

Incredible location in the center of it all. 2 bedroom apartment good for family of 4. You can walk everywhere as we only took a taxi once.

The king size bed in one of the bedrooms and the pillows were uncomfortable. If you like a REALLY firm mattress maybe it will be ok for you. Shower is so small you can barely move, but not a big deal. Rooms were a little pricey but you are paying for the location which you cannot beat.

This location is incredible, and the room was beautiful. I booked this for my parents (I stayed elsewhere nearby) and it was easily the best hotel we stayed at in Italy. an incredible view of the Duomo, gorgeous painted ceilings. you feel like you’re part of the city without even going outside. Don’t question it just book it!

the staff only works the front desk at specific times, so if that’s an issue for you be aware in advance. my parents stayed here (I booked it for them) and we stayed nearby, so when we came to visit them they’d have to come downstairs to let us in. the elevator is tiny and they were also confused as to how to order breakfast/if it was included
