Really wonderful little shared room. The fact that they are all regular beds (no bunk) makes it significantly more comfortable than a typical hostel. There is also a sink in the room, which is extremely convenient. A/C was wonderfully luxurious, especially considering how hot Rome was when I was there at the end of July. The other girls that were in the room while I was staying there were friendly and social, and it was nice to be able to meet other travelers. The terrace was also a nice place to hang out.
The kitchen wasn't much to speak of - there was a fridge, microwave, and sink, but no real ability to cook food.

I stayed in a 3 person dorm room. It was comfortable and cleaned daily. The bed was good, though perhaps a little narrow. If you're in the bed by the door you don't have a little table or something to place anything next to you. But overall, the room was nice. There are several bathrooms on the floor and there is good hot water. You have access to the rooftop which has some nice seating areas. Most of the front desk staff was very friendly and helpful, especially a young man I believe is named Kevin? I loved the location: you're about a 10 minute walk from a big train/metro station for easy traveling. I traveled alone and felt safe walking by myself at night. There are several restaurants and cafes nearby (in particular a delicious restaurant right around the corner and a pizza place down the street) but it still seemed like a quieter area, which was nice. You have to pay for breakfast, which I did not try, but I got some breakfast at a place nearby and I did think I probably would have gotten a better deal if I just ate here.
There are lockers in the hall, but none in the room I was in. Would be nice to have something secure within the shared room.

I stayed in 4 beds female dormitory it was so clean, the toilets get cleaned every morning as well as the rooms it’s 10 min walk to the termini train station. About 32 min walk to colosseum but if you don’t want to walk you can go to the metro is less than 5 min walk then buy the ticket there. I payed 24 euros for 1 week ticket. You can also go directly to termini to take a bus to rome fiumicino airport the ticket cost about around 7 or 8 euro. You will find around the corner some nice restaurants and a supermarket as well
You can’t check in before 3 pm otherwise you can leave your luggage in a storage room in the hotel

Looked nice, good view, common room and rooftop were especially nice. It wasn't too crowded or too loud.
That sometimes there were men on women's floor, I can understand the maintenance guys, but at one time there was a random man using the women's toilet.

Really central location, close to train station, buses and walking distance to Colosseum. Price worthy and clean
Breakfast was included but it wasn't much, some cake and cereals and milk. Not even sandwiches nor yoghurt. I think many would agree to have bread instead of cake for breakfast

Very nice room! Very clean and spacious bathroom for shower! Have good lockers for safety although you need to bring your own lock. Best of all, there is good air conditioning which is key in 39 degree summer. The girls in my room were super considerate and friendly, which made my stay really enjoyable and comfortable!
Staff didn’t seem very friendly to me. Not sure if that was because I’m Asian, because he seemed very passionate and friendly towards a group of European tourists before me.

I love everything. It was clean, comfortable, close to train and bus terminales and walking distance to the main sites. Check-in and check out was fast and easy. People were freandly. I like the normal beds and only 5 person in the room
Actually I didn't sleep 2 night because of completely sick women in our room. She coughed, sneezed and blew her nose with such sounds that the walls trembled like terramoto. This is not what you expect in the girls room. But I understand this is not a hostel problem and you can meet this kind of person in any hotel

I was a bit sceptical about the neighbourhood and the accomodation itself because of varying reviews The truth is that you don't get a room like the one you can see on the photos, but it was quite comfortable, other girls were great and cleanliness is 10 out of 10, which I appreciate the most. Also, this was my first stay at a hostel, so if you are like me, I highly recommend booking this one. Given all that you get, including the location, which is not central but well connected, Budget Rooms Des Artistes is the best value you can have for your money in Rome Please go to the terrace, it's beautiful.
It has nothing to do with the property itself, but stay away from the metro, at least the B line to the Termini station. My wallet was stolen, but I guess I was lucky enough that the policewoman was on the train, so the thieves gave it back to me with all money and documents intact. Take a bus instead; it may not be the fastest option, but it's safer.

The room I booked was spacious enough for 4 people and spotless clean. There was a powerful enough fan provided to cool the air. The bathrooms were clean and there were a few of them as well as showers and I didn't have to wait in line for any of these. The hostel is only a few mins walk from the main train station and there is a metro stop basically behind the corner so it's quite easy to reach main attractions of Rome. The area around seemed safe even in the evening with loads of restaurants around. Staff were also really nice and gave me some good advise about traveling around the city. It's possible to leave your bags in the storage room before check-in.
Just a small minus - not removable shower heads and water going all directions, not just straight down, meaning you can't really just have a quick shower without getting your hair all wet too. Can't really find any other negatives about the hostel.

The location is great, this is for me always the most important. It is close to Termini, but also, enough far away. :) I stayed in 4 bed- female - dorms - room for 3 nights and it was fine for this value money. It was clean. Friendly staff. So, I would definitely recommend it for a short stay and for those who want to spend a little money for accommodation.
I don't like people complaining about this or similar places, while you know already what can you expect for this value of money. So, if you want everything to be perfect, go to the hotel and pay much more.
