Bedrooms of a decent size with plenty of hanging space. Great conversion of an old chapel. Our room had a stone pillar in it, gives them a unique character but they don't feel like a church. Good breakfast. From full English to fruit, cereal and pastries there is a wide choice of foods. Though out of the centre of London, you can take a 10 minute bus ride from just outside the hotel to Woodford tube which is on the Central tube line. The advantage of being a little outside is the lovely space, nice grounds and parking, plus its quieter. This is a popular conference/wedding venue but the event rooms/suits are self contained so don't really impact on your stay.

It would be lovely to have a mini fridge in the bedrooms.

Room design was lovely, everything matched and looked really clean. Neutral colours with duck egg blue walls, very modern. Hair dryer, towels, tea & coffee available in rooms. Lighting on headboard of bed was really nice. Really nice size tv. Free Wi-Fi too. Lovely garden to walk through. Local shops nearby. Croissants and freshly brewed coffee in the morning was delicious. I booked through booking.com and got a good deal on hotel with breakfast included, which I think was worth the price and matches up to the hotel experience.

I thought the breakfast was okay (pastries and coffee was nice though), we ordered it up to the room. I had selected natural yogurt with berries and museli and instead received a small peach yogurt pot, if I had just ordered that, then it wouldn’t have of been enough for breakfast. Orange juice not very nice. Pillows were hard.

Everything, in fact it was nearly "an excellent" . The young staff were very keen to please. We had no great axpections when booking and didn't know anything about it. In fact we were surprised to find it was the old headquarters of Barnados. Although we have lived in Bristol for the last 23 years we are from Canning Town and thought we knew the hotel. We thing its been quite sympathetically converted. We nurse a thought that the young staff are ex Barnados youngsters who have finished up working for the Hotel. That may be a bit fancifull. They are doing very welll

Nothing comes to mind. We were staying in connection with a family funeral so apart from sitting for a long period in the mainroom / bar (our choice to fit in with the timing of the funeral at the City of London Cemetery ad London traffic.

Reception friendly, rooms are spacious, clean, comfy beds and bathrooms are good. Breakfast is nice and plenty of choice. Reviewing after multiple visits for business.

Rooms on occasion far too hot from the central heating. I did get one room on one occasion that had no window that could be opened so even after I turned the radiator off, it was still far too warm. Despite enjoying breakfast here reguarly, I do think it's just a fraction pricy. A couple of times staying, I will say (not really the hotels fault this one) the corridors can be noisy and had occasions here where other guests have been rude and had no respect for others staying making lots of noise and being drunk sadly.

Overall good stay. Hotel was nice, decent facilities, was clean, large rooms with plenty of space,decent lighting, ironing board and smart TV in rooms, free water bottles given out by the cleaners was a nice touch too. Overall 7/10

Parking is the main issue, if there's an event on like a wedding, there's no parking for guests who are staying in the hotel. Ended up with multiple fines due to having to park just outside the hotel even though I paid for parking & no air con or fans in room, very hot and muggy even with windows open...

It was ideal locality for my party I’m Chigwell. Breakfast was good Room was lovely and comfortable bed

I had to walk right through a wedding reception pulling my suitcase it was very embarrassing as they were all dressed up. I was in my casual clothes and obviously they are looking at me as to where is this person going . This needs to be cordoned off for visiting guest so spillage from wedding venue does not obstruct the entrance to the rooms.

Fantastic and accommodating staff. Went above and beyond to make me comfortable and assist on all my requirements. Would definitely stay there again, and recommend to friends. Thank you to all the amazing stuff.

The only critique I would say is the facilities could do with a few tweaks. I couldn't charge my toothbrush or razor (I stayed here for 7 days), so ended up with a big beard and had to brush teeth manually with the very small head on an electric toothbrush! :D. Extremely minor detail though, and don't think this will really affect many people for 1-2 day stays. Would be great to have a gym somewhere on site, as the premises are huge! But again.. the pros overall far outweigh the negatives.

The listing gives the impression the property is on a country estate, it’s not, this wasn’t a problem for us but could be for those looking for nice surroundings. Parking was a bit of a nightmare because there was events on so we had to wait for a space. Staff just not engaging, not rude just nothing bar the necessary conversation. Overall hotel comfortable for what we needed which was a clean room and a bed for the night, nothing special!

Very clean and well presented, great location fir train station and lots of local restaurantsand shops within a 5 min walk, lovely breakfast and good overall value for money. Staff were nice.

Bedroom lamp kept flickering and shower gel dispenser was removed from the wall- only minor things though. Only real concern was bedroom window didn't have any locks and just slid up, making me feel a little insecure regarding security. Would definetly stay here again though as generally felt safe and comfortable and location was brilliant

All the staff we dealt with were polite and very helpful. From first walking into Reception, to everybody in the Dining Room at breakfast, they couldn't have done more. Even staff we passed in the corridors all smiled and said hello: a refreshing change!!

Our room looked in need of some attention. It's obviously been a while since it was upgraded. Having said that, it was large and very comfortable. The bathroom in particular was showing it's age, but everything worked.
