Great location. It is very close to bus stops, train stations, a main shopping street, and Nishiki food market. Room was relatively large and can easily accommodate 2 and maybe 3 people. Did not have breakfast in hotel as there a plenty of great eating places and excellent restaurants nearby. There is a laundromat about 10 minutes walk from hotel. Staff was very helpful in preparing the paperwork for sending a bag to another city. Hotel wifi worked very well.

There was only one english TV channel but this is not a problem as I had no time to watch TV. However, the TV allowed screen share from apple and android devices - so one can stream youtube or other media to the TV via a phone or laptop.

The hotel has several restaurants which we enjoyed. While they have a full breakfast with fixed price we preferred the continental breakfast via room service which was also very prompt. They also offer gluten free bread for breakfast which my wife prefers. We did try several other restaurants in Kyoto of which Tempura Endo was the best. The hotel staff was very helpful and made it easy to get taxis. As a noted hotel, it was also easy to tell a taxi where to go. [We had a difficult time in Tokyo where we stayed at a lesser known hotel]. We had a room on a high floor which provided a very nice view of the mountains around Kyoto as well as the tower by the train station.

They should communicate more fully about how room service works and how to have the cart retrived after one is finished breakfast. Just some pointers would be helpful on paper or in person.

I like everything in this hotel. The room was big for 3 people, the bathroom was so nice and spacious. Toilet is separate from the bath, shower and it has a separate dressing room. They also provide free drinks with a choice of softdrinks, orange juice and beer replenished everyday. They supply plenty of coffee, tea and nice coffee mugs and cups with teaspoon and saucer. Proper coffee bar. The porter is very helpful when we need a taxi, he is always quick to help. Close to Nishiki Market, Nijo-Jo Castle and other tourist spot.

Nothing much really except i guess the train station which is a fair walk in my opinion. But depends I guess if people does not mind walking its a good location.

The staff were top class. Professional, friendly and efficient. They went above and beyond to assist us. Always available to answer questions and help. I was travelling with my senior mother who has mobility difficulties and they really took care to ensure she was looked after. The location was perfect, easy to access everything you'd want and need. We drive a hire car and were able to utilise the secured parking on site. The hotel, cleaning standards and restaurant were very clean. Fantastic bath and shower room with toiletries provided including bath salts

The pillows were very flat and the bed was quite firm. The hotel decor is old and worn and has an old carpet smell about it but they do a good job at keeping everything immaculately clean.

The staff were friendly, helpful and treated guests rather formally adding a sense of importance (small but a nice touch). The room (Superior Triple Room) was huge with lots of room to spare for three adults (providing both a desk and sitting area (was really expecting a smaller room is is more the norm in Japan). The room and washroom was very well equipped and very clean (given that this hotel is a little older, there was a charm to this room). We purchased the breakfast option, the hotel offers two choices, western style buffet breakfast (reasonable choices food wise) or traditional Japanese style breakfast that was served. Preferred the western but the Japanese formal breakfast was a nice change from the ordinary.

There wasn't much to complain about other than the slight distance to main shopping street (just north, about 7-8 minutes). When you are out all day and running back and forth, its adds to the steps.

The hotel was very nice and elegant, the staff was great

The only thing i didn't like was the fact that i paid for breakfast for me and my family and was told at check in that my reservation didn't have that option. But i think it was the hotel's mistake because they mixed up my booking with another guest and didn't correct my reservation back to what it was;so i had to pay for breakfast again for 5 days for 3 people.

My daughter and I stayed 3 nights here, We had a wonderful (!!!) stay at Hotel Nikko Princess 👸🏻 Kyoto. we got a very good feeling by the stuff, very helpful with anything we needed, including recommendations and reservations of good Izakayas 🏮and stuff. Hotel 🏨 is beautiful very Classy & Elegant touches of genuine old styled design . Shower 🚿 top, comfortable 🛌, Elegant breakfast 🍳 (Superb omelette). Above all service was heartwarming and we thank you 🙏 for that.

Everything was pretty great. I am a vegetarian and I’d been having trouble finding good food throughout the trip, so I made arrangements with the hotel before I arrived. They were amazing at creating a special menu for dinner at both the Chinese restaurant and the Western one. for breakfast, I had the set menu which had a lot of food as well. Staff was very kind and attentive, the room was big and comfortable and everyone spoke good English, which made things much easier. Good location, easy to find and very close to the subway, as well as good convenience shops.

Everything was good!

Great location (near major subway/train line, direct line to Osaka), beautiful rooms -- comfortable, spacious, well thought-out. Clocks, scales, and even TV audio speakers in the bathroom? Unbelievable! And the underground parking was wonderful (I swear that the paid parking lots in both Kyoto and Osaka are run by gangsters. Signs promising a maximum rate per day are meaningless, and ripping off drivers seems to be a major source of income.) So having a convenient, inexpensive drive-in, drive-out solution was great. The hotel staff were helpful and super-friendly. The Nikko Princess is "old-style", which means real restaurants (not coffee shops) on premises, and yes, a quiet, well-stocked Main Bar. My wife and I didn't even feel like drinking, but spent an hour sipping wine in the bar just to enjoy the ambiance of an old-school hotel. That's what this is -- traditional design, service, facilities, etc. A little pricey compared to the budget hotels, but well worth the cost (we literally fled here from an inexpensive hotel a few blocks away that we hated, and were SO happy that we found this place!). I'm a big fan of Kyoto and now of the Nikko Princess as well, and I will definitely be back to visit both.

I tried hard to find things to complain about, but there really wasn't anything bad to speak of. If I could re-design the hotel, I would install a large public bath for guests to soak away the pains of walking all over Kyoto, but that is a minor quibble. The baths in the rooms are fine. Seriously, not a single complaint, and that's rare.

It was the perfect hotel everything and everyone was ten out of ten. I've been all over the world, in good bad and indifferent hotels and this one was the Queen of them all. There's nothing to criticise, the food was great the place was magnificent, the staff was very nice and professional ✅❤❤❤❤❤ i will be back.
