Staff were some of the most helpful staff I have encountered, at least in the month that I had stayed in Japan (by the time I left Matsumoto). I had a bit of an issue with Japan Post and staff was kind enough to let me use their front desk phone for about half an hour while I tried to resolve the issue. (the issue was, in the end, resolved) When I felt a little sick after my 3rd night, cleaning staff were very much understanding and gave me time to recover. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, has been retrofitted from seven years ago (2016). Carpet on the walls in the elevator? Nope, gone. Airconditioning units in the rooms? Still nothing (built into the wall), but the aircon actually works. Keys? Nope, key cards! Ario across the street? Nah, that's Alpico Plaza right now (since 2017) and the only good thing about it is the Bookoff Bazaar. Food Court was changed as well, since it no longer has small restaurants or snack bars. Back to the hotel: they changed the restaurant and the food offered during breakfast. I went to my old floor, 4th floor, checked out the vending machine room and found that they fixed the door. It no longer slams shut like it did 7 years ago. Cleanliness? Nothing to complain about. Comfort? My last night, I opted for the whole "take a free shuttle bus to a hotel they have a deal with and take a soak in the hot springs there". It's not a hot springs per se, but the baths are nice and hot. Too hot, even. 40.5 lukewarm?

The post office was a tad bit far away. Still within walking distance. Nothing to do with the hotel, though.

Great location. Very clean and neat room. Very quiet. Comfortable bed. Good breakfast, plus you can get free hot drinks from a machine in the lobby.

A minor quibble, but check-in is via a machine/screen; it's a bit weird that staff just stand there idle while you struggle with self check-in. It doesn't make the process any quicker. Staff do offer help but I don't understand why they can't just do it themselves.

- Location 50m away from the train station, across the road from the bus station. - comfy and clean room - heater + humidifer - breakfast included (i didnt get to try it as i was leaving very early) - plug near bed - great value

- no toothbrush or other small amneties (only shampoo, bath gel, conditionner) - no coffee/tea in room (they have free ones at ground floor tho) - facilities a bit dated

Very affordable hotel located 2 min walk from the train station, just perfect for our one night stay in Matsumoto. The castle is just 15 min stroll from the hotel. The hotel offers breakfast included in the room price, which was a very nice surprise and kind of unexpected. More than any of the positives, the staff is very courteous and helpful.

Small room, but we knew that when we booked.

The staffs are friendly and so helpful. Their are some services like breakfast, free drink or rental bicycles, etc. The place is right next to the station and in front of bus stop so It's very convenient.

The bed and shower curtains are smelly. There're some stains on the bedsheet. it's a bit dusty on the hangers.

The hotel is right next to the train and bus station, and about a 15-minute walk from the castle. Very friendly staff.

The bed is a bit hard. There were some hairs in the bathtub and on the bed.

The room was clean and cozy. Free hot and cold drinks are available in the lobby.

The breakfast was a slight disappointment. The menu included rice, sauce, soup, fish. If someone likes a sweet breakfast, they will be disappointed.

The location is just next to the exit of Matsumoto station. It's vey convenient. We book for twin beds, so we get enough space (not so narrow).

Very good location just next to train station. The staff was nice. The room was very small and equipment just the basic. But for my purpose it was a very good choice. Very good value for money.
