Great hotel for a short stay in Nikko, good quality for the price paid. The hotel was quite basic with a small room but it was very clean and overlooked the city/mountains. Same for the bathroom, it was clean but quite tight. Breakfast was basic but decent with a fixed breakfast each morning containing an egg, toast and a salad. Very good connection to the different activities in Nikko with its proximity to the station.

Would have loved more breakfast options as it was pretty basic but understandable if this keeps the cost low.

This hotel was so great! We had a lovely room on the top floor with a clear view of the mountains and could even see the roof of Rinno-ji! Everything was clean and well maintained, the bed was comfortable, and the room was a good size for two people. The staff were so wonderful and helpful and held our luggage for us before check in. The front desk staff spoke English very well and explained all of the amenities when we arrived. The location is a very convenient 3 minute walk from tobu-nikko station, making this the ideal hotel if you arrive direct from Tokyo. We also enjoyed the simple complementary breakfast that got us off to a very convenient start each day. 10/10 stay, excellent value for money. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to stay in Nikko for a few days, especially if you can book a room on the top floor!

Nothing! We had a wonderful stay here and loved our time in Nikko!

The location was great - just a couple of blocks away from the train station. The staff kindly provided me a coin locker free of charge to temporarily store my luggage after check-out. The room was cheap. There was actually complementary breakfast, contrary to the room description. Two pillows.

The breakfast selection was limited, fixed, and not vegetarian- or Muslim-friendly at all - The salad bowl included slices of ham. The curtains did not block sunlight. Would've liked a glass/cup with a spoon in the room.

The property was very clean and cleaning staff were always so polite and friendly as well as the reception staff in handling queries. I had no problems at all other than a minor problem with the AC, it does switch off by itself at times. The location is brilliant and is conveniently located near a supermarket called Lion D’or and a convenience store - family mart. Within east walking distance there a plenty of restaurants and street foods nearby the train station.

Just a minor problem with the AC turning off by itself, I made sure I had the windows open as well so I wouldn’t feel too hot, but this was the only problem I had.

Location is excellent, less than 5 minutes walk from the train station. Arriving before check in, staff will store your bags securely and give you a ticket to retrieve it. Our room on the 4th floor had an incredible view of the mountains. The room is actually quite spacious and equipped with everything you would expect - TV, fridge, kettle, mirror, reading light, chair, coat hanger, etc. Everything was spotlessly clean. The staff were very friendly and accomodating. There is an included breakfast, but can't comment as we never tried it.

Only issue would be the hardness of the bed and pillows, but after asking for an additional pillow I had a much better sleep the second night.

Great location. Not on the station as I imagined it would be, but you can easily walk it. Right down the road from a relatively big groceries store. Close to the main road near plenty of restaurants. But far enough away from any bustle. Was a clean place. The bathroom is typically small but also clean with decent shampoo and the like. Have the option to define the kind of cleaning service you want on check-in. The room has a good amount of space for our two open bags. Of course, the staff is very kind and helpful. There are coin lockers and the option to leave your bags in the lobby prior to check-in. Breakfast was also included; had a wonderful curry with rice, there is some nice toast and my partner whom loves miso soup thoroughly enjoyed theirs. I'd book it again.

No coffee or tea in the rooms nor complimentary water. But there is a complimentary warm drink in the lobby.

Just a short, three minute walk pretty much right down the road from the train station. I booked my brother and I separate rooms each with double beds, which I found to be very clean and very fluffy and comfortable. Between the hotel and the train station, it's a nice, slightly uphill walk past lots of small businesses like restaurants, boutiques and craft workshops leading up to many wonderful temple grounds and a forest Cafe. I accidentally spilled some coffee from an empty can in my pocket onto my bed, but the staff assured me it was fine and I didn't need to pay any kind of cleaning fee.

The bathroom was especially small, good for quickly washing up after a busy day but not suited for a relaxing soak.

There was a parking lot next to the hotel and the location in general is close to a lot of good places to eat at. Breakfast was included and surprisingly delicious! You can also get free drinks whenever you need. The room was clean and quite big in comparison to other places I have been to. If you have a room on the 5th floor, the view out of the window is really nice. All in all, I definitely enjoyed my stay and can recommend it (⌒‐⌒)

It took me some time to manage the water temperature as I was either burned or it was icy. I recommend to check it before going into the shower ( ´-ω-)

I mistakenly made the reservation for only one person when I meant to make it for two people. The staff were accommodating and told me I simply had to pay an extra charge of ~5k Yen at the checkout the next day. When we checked in we were informed there would be a free breakfast included. The breakfast was sort of like a buffet and you had the options of rice, vegetable curry, miso soup, pickled vegetables, fluffy white bread, margerine, jelly (gam), scrambled eggs and a few other minor options. There was tea, juice and water (I didn't see any coffee but I don't drink it so maybe I just ignored it). As far as complimentary breakfasts go, it was amazing and quite tasty. When checking out, we wanted to use the coin lockers located on the hotel premises (where you check in your bags if you arrive before your check-in time). We didn't have enough spare change (500 yen) to operate the locker. I told the clerk I want to use the lockers. Before I even had a chance to explain to the clerk that I have only 5000 yen bills and would need change, he produced a stack of 5 100 yen coins and simply gave them to me without demanding anything in return. As we were using the coin locker we realized we left something in our room and the clerk let us go back to the room to retrieve it without any fuss. I had a great experience.

I am quite a big guy (191 cm or a little over 6 foot 3" for those of you using "freedom units"). The slippers the hotel provided were way too small. Expectedly, like everywhere else in Japan, the bidet style toilet seat was also too small, leading to some uncomfy moments and the bathtub was ok to shower in but definitely too small to bathe in.

It was just a five minute walk from Tobu-Nikko Station or about eight minutes from JR Nikko Station. The Lion Dor supermarket was close to the hotel that we could get what we need easily, as it ran from 9am to 9pm

Like most hotels in Japan, the room was small, but with some thoughts in the furniture design, there's still moving space in the room. Not enough power point provided.
