This has been the absolute BEST hotel i’ve stayed at so far. The facilities are top-notch, room super clean and spacious and the view is just phenomenal. Though the hotel is not a ski in and ski out hotel, everything is very well connected. The vale is connected to the Rusutsu Resort which allows you to travel around without ever going outside and is also connected to the Westin Rusutsu via monorail within Rusutsu resort. The food is a bit pricy but there are convenience stores very very close by (just across the road from Rusutsu Resort) with really good food options if you’re looking for something affordable. The activities are also very well-connected and you need not travel very far from the vale to participate in them (you will need to make advance bookings in case they sell out on the day itself and pay for them). Also I don’t rly understand the hate for the service, it is very clear on the site with all the relevant check in information and the staff were extremely helpful and kind when we were stuck at the airport when our flight in was cancelled and we missed out bus to the hotel. They messaged me immediately with solutions to get to the resort and I really appreciated that.

NOTHING, everything was perfect - will definitely come back.

Beautiful apartment with all the facilities you need. Very clean and comfortable. Great view. Connected to the onsen and Rustsu resort so you don't have to trek outside.

The breakfast buffet was average quality and closed at 9, which is a bit early. However, there were 4 options for breakfast - one Chinese, one Japanese, one bakery style/sandwich takeaway and the buffet. We didn't try the Chinese or Japanese only because I was with my young child and he wouldn't eat that for breakfast. The takeaway option was good but still a bit limited in options. Small downfall I would say.

Stylish and top quality of the property, ski-in and ski-out, amazing large indoor and outdoor onsen pool, welcoming staffs, complementary breakfast at 5 restaurants to choose from. There is a nice spread of kitchen in the unit, with a small fridge, pots and pans, ready for any chef at heart who prefers to stay in for a snowy wintry night.

The reception area can be made more welcoming with morning coffee, cookies after ski, and a cozier rearrangement of lobby furnitures. There is limited restaurants to choose from for dinner on and off premise. Perpare to cook at the residence.

Apartment was spacious, comfortable, and well-appointed. The hotel is ski-in and just about ski-out, with only a short skate to lifts. The onsen is superb. Hotel staff were very helpful with van shuttle to restaurants etc.

The Rusutsu resort is huge with the main breakfast buffet restaurant a 5+ minute walk through the connected buildings. Restaurant bookings for dinner can be tricky - we managed fine having been there before, but the concierge desk will help if necessary.

The room was lovely. Nice and modern

The walking distance to the restaurants was not expected. Not great Western options for breakfast The rabbit warren from the Vale to access the rest of the resort was hard. Hard to fix.

The location was excellent as it was situated right at the bottom of the West Mount around Rusutsu Ski Resort. You can ski-in and ski-out quite easily to get to both West/East Mounts and Mt. Isola - though it is still a bit of a walk from the end of the ski-in trail to get to the Gondola. The Vale rooms are excellent condition, super clean and tidy, very modern and easy access. The rooms had Nespresso coffee machines which was great! However, we had to walk quite a bit to get to breakfast at the 'North Wing' of Rusutsu Resort every morning. There were no close by breakfast options downstairs.

Breakfast was a bit too far!

The room included a washing machine and laundry and fully furnished kitchen. It was beautiful and very useful. The onsen was amazing. The view is slightly blocked by some trees but I guess thats also meant to prevent people from seeing you as well.

It was a bit confusing to find the hotel. We got dropped off by the shuttle bus and thought it was part of rusutsu hotel (and it is) but you can't access it from inside the hotel without a keycard. Also no included loungewear. We did get some from reception in the end, but it would be nice for it to be included in the room.

The location is great as a ski-in, ski-out hotel. As our room was on the 1st floor, it was close to the ski lockers and on the same floor as the onsen and the connecting corridor to the main resort. While the hotel does not have its own restaurant, there is a cafe which serves free coffee in the morning, and the walk to the main resort and other restaurants was not too far in my opinion (5-10 minutes' walk, all indoors). We took a free shuttle bus from Sapporo to the hotel (around 2 hours).

The hotel is a little on the pricy side but that's probably because we booked very close to Chinese New Year.

Very modern, lots of space, staff very accommodating, ski back to the property easy. Ski out is a bit more difficult and needs a fair amount of work. Access to the Rusutsu resort Onsen and Restaurants via a linked passageway is great. Meal package through the resort is good too, however this has been scaled back since pre-covid. The Vale will run you down to Rusutsu resort reception for your bus connection if required.

The apartment wall to wall/floor to ceiling glass makes it very warm if the suns out. The locker room (ski/snowboards etc) is really well presented, it could do with some more benches and improved heating at night to get your boots dry. The hike to get some downhill motion and having to cross a ski school area to get through some trees to the lift.

As a place to stay at a ski resort, pretty hard to beat. It was very quiet, extremely well appointed, had tremendous facilities - from the onsen to the ski lockers and if you wanted to, had self catering facilities. Tremendous views, at least from our side of the building. The rooms were extremely comfortable, and well sized. Little touches made a difference. For instance, brushes sitting outside so you could clean your skis after a day on the slope. And pretty much ski in and ski out.

Hard to fault. It was a long walk each time you wanted to use a Rusutsu resort restaurant, but not the end of the world. There were three choices of restaurants - we enjoyed the Japanese and Chinese ones but the Octoberfest restaurant was not great (busy, barn like, no atmosphere and OK food).
