Room was in the renovated wing which was a significant improvement from the previous older ones. Breakfast is excellent as before. In-room onsen was a bliss! Location was excellent.

The room was a little too warm and the thermostat will not go below 20C. Buffet dinner was less impressive and not such good value for money.

I’ve been here for 4 days. I liked the service mind of staffs. They were not only friendly but also kindly to visitors. However, the infrastructures were old fashioned but the facilities were well functioned.

I met an elder male staff, worked in a night shift, he talked to me unfriendly. This event happened in a night, approximately 08.40PM, my friends and I were walking through the family lift exit in the 1st floor. Unfortunately, the exit was already closed (at 08.30PM), he informed us this exit was closed, consequently we went to the entrance. Therefore, this male staff walked behind us and asked me loudly “They (my two friends) don’t stay here!”. I felt, why did he ask me more friendly because my two friends and me accepted his information. This event made me upset. I was his guest, so he should treat me more friendly.

Staff was awesome and very helpful. They made us feel welcome and helped with issues we had like ordering a taxi or getting information about surroundings. 10 stars for staff. Rooms were clean. We had in room onsen. It was small but the view was great. Breakfast buffet was great. Lots of things to choose from, Japanese and western. Ski Lyft was very close to the hotel. Price was also reasonable. There is no other place where you can have an in room onsen for this price.

For 3 adults room felt crowded and small. The two bed room was the same space as 3 person tatami room. So, not much more space for an extra person. It also was very hot and smelled musty. Perhaps the musty smell is from the onsen. Onsen was small too, could only fit 2 people. Sleeping on futon was uncomfortable, it was very hard.

1. Private ensuite onsen 2. View of Mt Yotei in front of onsen 3. Choice of public onsen (which was huge) & there were 3-4 in the women’s onsen 4. Good breakfast buffet 5. Within 7-10 min walk to Grand Hirafu base & welcome centre (connecting bus to Kutchan station) 6. Newly renovated private onsen room 7. Loads of snow around the hotel & you can view the slopes & chair lifts at the breakfast area

1. Thin mattress for the traditional rooms 2. Pillows were very thin & hard 3. Outside facade looks old (like it’s built in the 70-80s) probably due for renovation on the outside 4. Front counter looks old & tired too 5. Dinner was not advertised at all so not sure what’s available 6. No cafe at lobby 7. Staff needs to learn better English

The location for skiers was ideal. The breakfast was interesting and very good. The public Onsen was a huge bonus. We loved it and used it every day after skiing. The rooms had an authentic Japanese decor and we loved sleeping on the futon mats.

The Deluxe Tatsumi Room was very comfortable for 3 people. We found the Private Onsen Room not as comfortable for skiers as not as good entrance space or facilities to hang our jackets or put our shoes.

Booked a room with a private onsen and it was value for money - was a really good addition to each cold morning and post-ski. Service staff spoke minimal English but were polite and helpful, note they are down in manning so extend some courtesy when you have to wait a bit in line or housekeeping is not offered daily. Building looks really old outside but the rooms were updated! Hotel was in an awesome location too - mere steps from eateries, base lifts and it has a neat ski in & out from the lockers. Be warned though, the location can be a problem as diners are all packed during peak dinner times.

Minimal dining options in-house and food items in buffet could rotate a little more

The onsen in the hotel is amazing, its open overnight and has an incredible outdoor area with a heated pool. Some days i even went twice - after skiing to wash up and after dinner yo really relax, it's quite uncrowded late at night, really creates a private feel for guests. Staff are very dedicated, the restaurant has a good variety and quality of food, good facilities for sports gear storage. Hotel is directly accessible from the family quad slope and vice versa, which is very useful. Free gear pick up by rhythm and i suspect other rental places. A lot of things are just very well thought out.

The Japanese style room is for sure tight for 3 people, maybe it should be limited to booking for 2 to make it more obvious, although i guess it maybe popular for families.

In room onsen was amazing and beautiful view. Buffet breakfast/dinner was very convenient and quality was good and nice view of beginner slope. Smooth check-In and check out. Staff were also polite and helpful.

Privacy for in room onsen was poor due to construction on building in front of our room. Also requested room on higher floor for this reason at time of booking but was not accommodated. also room was rather hot and blankets had poor breathability and were rather sweaty.

Onsen in room, spacious, comfortable stay. Great location with family track just outside of the hotel, and free lockers for inhouse guests, making it pretty convenient to stay in

The wall/ceiling may be a bit thin, we can hear other guests upstairs stomping at night. Also the shower room (connected to onsen) has no heater so it can be a bit cold

The property is connected to the family ski slope in hirafu. Parking space is available if you drive up the mountain. The ski locker is convenient so you don’t have to carry all the equipment up to your room. It also has an 24hr onsen which a lot of the properties in NISEKO doesn’t.

Nothing to complaint about really.
