Staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was very good but currently sometimes walking around Birmingham was like walking through a building site particularly on the way back to hotel from the centre. Although it was very quiet for a city centre hotel in terms of traffic at night.

The carpet in our room had stains on it and some of the mugs used at breakfast needed replaced. Better maps and information on Birmingham for first time visitors would have been useful.

The staff at the hotel were exceptionally friendly and helpful! When we arrived someone helped us carry our luggage up to a high floor and also told us to use one of the hotel's parking spots instead of parking out front so we didn't get a ticket (we were only parked for a few minutes). The breakfast was great and had a large selection. The hotel was in a good location, walking distance to a lot of the shopping, train station, restaurants, etc. The room was very small but it worked fine for us as we were only there for a few days.

The room was small for four people but it worked fine for us since we were only there for a couple days. The location was fine for walking to key locations, but it is a walk...and sometimes past a lot of homeless people.

Exceptional value, and completely exceeded our expectations. This is definitely the best hotel of this price range I have stayed in. We arrived about 10pm with our 6 and 9 year olds and we were all very tired and just ready for bed. We were greeted by a super friendly and enthusiastic staff member and we were over the moon to find out we were on the top floor. In my experience family rooms are usually in the worst part of the hotel so for us to be given the highest rooms felt amazing. The view from our room was incredible! The room itself was so smart and thoughtfully arranged. The bathroom was lovely. It felt very new. Super clean. Ironing facilities were a great addition I don't usually see. The beds were comfy and we all slept really well. We used the air con overnight which was very quiet. The breakfast was great, had everything we could need, plus a cool pancake maker which really amused my children. The boys were offered activity booklets as we arrived at breakfast, which was lovely. The staff member greeting us was so friendly, and the whole team on breakfast were busy keeping everything well stocked and tidy. The location is fantastic, so close to the canal, mailbox, library, so central, but really quiet, even on the lowest floor it seemed quiet. We were so impressed. We wished we had needed to stay more than one night.

From the moment we arrived in reception, we knew we’d made the right choice of hotel. We travelled as a family of 4 (2 kids) The children were given activity packs & a little goodie bag with biscuits, sweets & a drink - how amazing!! They felt like royalty. The room was lovely and all set up for the 4 of us, really clean and the main bed was so comfy we slept all night through. The bathroom was the nicest I’ve seen in a hotel in the UK. The breakfast was lovely & a great selection. So glad we decided to stay here and only costing us £78 for the night was even better. Thank you to all the lovely staff.

The Location was fantastic, it's only a small walk from the trainstation and easy to get to, and a small walk to the canal and the restaurants near the mailbox. Staff we're amazing, very accommodating, and friendly. The rooms itself were just right for what we wanted, there was nothing overly fancy, however the amenities provided we're great and the room itself was spotless and bed comfortable.

Breakfast choices werent overly great as there was not many options at all, and the coffee unfortunately was not to my tasting, both at breakfast and in room provided.

We arrived before our booking in time but are room was ready. ALL the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was lovely and clean and the beds were very comfy. The air conditioning was brilliant in this hot weather. We got a pizza at the bar which was really tasty and very large. For breakfast we were greeted by shaun who made our morning, friendly, helpful and just made us smile. There was so much chose for your breakfast. The arena and shops were within walking distance. Would highly recommend and if we come back to Birmingham we would definitely book here again.

The only thing I can think of is maybe changing the toilet paper for something a bit thicker but that is a minor thing.

The team at the Holiday Inn Express Birmingham was excellent. Each and every single team member my son and I interacted was so accomodating, understanding and welcoming. I can not fully put it into words but this meant so much to me, especially being the mother of an autistic child. My son absolutely loved every minute of his stay and the team played vital a role in this.

One improvement i would recommend is the addition of Almond milk to the breakfast milk alternatives. This was the only issue that caused a bit of distress for my son as soya, semi-skimmed and whole were unfortunately not an option. If the case of nut allergy is an issue, maybe it could be kept in-house but provided upon request.

Very clean outfit! Also,Breakfast was a" help yourself" situation which was great. If there was a need to improve the culinary aspect of breakfast, the supply of some basic tinned type tomatoes would have been appreciated

Also we asked for, and failed to find any mayonnaise. Hash browns ,and mushrooms would complete the upgrade. But we appreciate the relatively low cost of our stay. One other detail comment. The air con controls in room 309 were not explained properly on the printed instructions. Also we could not get the desired temp. down below 19.0c. Which proved to be too warm for a decent sleep thanks Paul

Everything was wonderful! Breakfast was lovely and staff were friendly. Even had a choice of whether we preferred a higher or lower room which was very considerate. Great choice of food for breakfast. Having to use a key card to operate the lifts made it feel very secure.

Slightly confusing having two holiday inn hotels within very close proximity both called Birmingham city centre rather than the street name. But logistics aside, the staff at the hotel and the hotel itself can’t be faulted! Thank you so much for a great stay.

Exceptionally clean, All staff were friendly, attentive, helpful and smiling..Victor on reception was welcoming and patient. Breakfast had a great choice of food/drinks, items were fresh and continuously replenished, with a takeaway option and tables cleaned quickly. The location was perfect for town, the recommended Q-Park easily accessible and our room on 17th floor was clean, comfy, well stocked and a good size for our needs. Nice touch with the complementary magazines in the foyer and late checkout! Would definitely stay again if visit the area in the future. A great team of staff who all helped to make our experience positive and memorable. Thank you!

Very little.. The kettle could maybe have been a bit bigger perhaps? Our shower door leaked a bit.
