The hotel is located on a hill with gorgeous seaview. One can access the beach but need to walk about 200m to get to the sea during low tide. The beach area is beautiful. Nice rocks and pretty vegetation to take photos. Property has 2 nice pools to chill and a tiny sauna that can fit at most 3 persons. There is also a small gym, a library and 2 lookout pavillion to enjoy the seaview and sunset This is a nice place to do nothing and just chill for a few days. The restaurant Tanju serves nice food. The room (culvert) came with decent and tasty breakfast. A choice of western (eggs, sausage, ham and beans) or asian breakfast (fried noodles or fried rice) with free flow of bread, cereal and beverages for the first two days and the last (Saturday) was a buffet with almost similar choice of food as mentioned. The culvert (room) is limited in space (mine faces the sea and situated just in front of the main building). The moment one step into the culvert, one would be just climbing onto the bed. Not much or very limited luggage space. I just organized my daily needs and tuck my big backpack under a small table. A small safe is provided and also a small tablet (useless and just occupying table space). The layout of the bathroom is tight but functional and comes with necessary amenities. Overall the setup is cosy and bed is very comfortable. Wifi connection was mostly great. Staff is very friendly and courteous. Front desk informed me of the space issue and gave me an option to upgrade to a bigger space when I checked in. (I believe it will just cost me more if I took the offer.) Overall, a pleasant experience. Enjoyed walking around the beach, watching the sea from my culvert and chilling and swimming in both pools. Flipside, may not be appropriate for people suffering from claustrophobia or anyone 1.6m or more in height will find it challenging to fit into the culvert.

1. Tablet stand is fixed almost in the middle of the table and occupying space. Should just remove the tablet and stand to free up the table space. 2. After swimming in the pool, one would need to climb over the bed in wet attire to get to the bathroom. 3. One cannot bill to the room (culvert) and pay during check out.

The resort is about an hour's drive north from the Kuching International Airport, depending on traffic. We decided on a hotel pick up but you could easily get a Grab, which is quite cheap. To put things in perspective this resort is a good place to chill for a couple. Families with children may find the space more challenging. The room design is interesting (literally sleeping in a culvert) so you need to manage your expectations in terms of size as the product was delivered as advertised. A little more challenging if you are tall or a little older (as we were). Nevertheless, having said that, the room was comfortable to sleep in at the end of the day and it was clean. If you want a little more space then I would suggest upgrading to a de luxe, which is also reasonably priced. Breakfast was a nice simple spread of local dishes (which they change around daily), cereal, simple western style eggs and hashes, and juices. The real nice thing was having breakfast facing the sea with a nice breeze and a lovely selection of music. The resort itself is nestled in a primary forest and has a private beach. The sea is quite shallow for almost 700m out but is nice for walks, looking at some local sea life like crabs. There is also a lovely view of the sunset either from the beach or the sunset deck. The staff all converse well in English, have a very friendly disposition and are extremely helpful. Just ask the if you need anything (but do note that some requests come at a small price). There are also shuttles from the resort to places of interest and back and these are reasonably priced.

Nothing really since the overall experience was well worth the time and money. If there was one think would be some citronella to keep the mosquitoes away, especially in the evenings.

I like the uniqueness of the culvert as a place to stay. Food are marvellous Staff are good Perfect for honeymooners i guess.

Small for 2, for muslims i guess u shd take a bigger option so there's a space to pray, cukup cukup la. Off course there is a surau provided but quite far.. And during the day, the culvert tend to be very heaty, x rasa pun aircond.. maybe due to the position of the aircond unit. Space constraints la katakan. Beach area is small., and a lot of stairs mind you.. so not for org org berumur ye. Nanti tanggal lutut.

The surroundings of the place are really magical and the whole set up and everything is really beautiful. Considering that is in a very quite location the food and beverage choices in the restaurant are amazing. There are a lot of options and even as a vegan there are several dishes you can choose from. The staff was super nice, very very helpful and the whole service is extraordinary. They specially made for us vegetarian breakfast platters and provided soy milk and I loved that for dinner they had several alcohol options and even a very good house wine. An amazing place which I can absolutely only recommend.

Due to the design of the rooms there is not much space so just don't bring a big suitcase ;)

The staff were so friendly and welcoming. Amazing views from the property especially from the lower infinity pool and sunset deck. Such a cool and unique setup and idea. They offered me An upgrade on arrival for a cheaper price as they weren’t busy so I could have more room as otherwise the standard rooms (pods/pipes) are very compact. It’s all part of the experience anyway! The village is a 20-30 minute walk or they can drop you up there for 10RM (this could be a bit cheaper as it is a short drive).

Both the nights I stayed and ate the on-site restaurant, they didn’t have many local dishes from their menu available which was a shame as there were a few things I wanted to try. So this was disappointing. The meals I did have in the end were lovely admittedly.

Relaxing and comfortable environment, private beach and pools, washing machine & dryer (also detergent) available at common area (free). Upgraded my room to sea view suite upon check-in, and have a separate bathroom & bathtub. Pool fling available, and the manager customize the menu for me as a lot of foods were out of stock during the stay due to new year. I love it! Also not to forget friendly and helpful staffs around, one of the staff helped to carry my luggage to the room. Tips: It’s suggested for you to bring mosquito repellent spray as there is a lot of mosquito-nature surroundings. Travel light weight, it might be a little challenging to carry heavy suitcase on the pad walkway if your room is further down.

Our stay at the culvert was fantastic. The location is simply beautiful, being situated right at the hillside of the santubong mountain and nationalpark. You can take the stairs down to the beach or watch the tides from the refreshing pool. The staff was super friendly and helped us with all our questions and activity bookings. The room or rather tube is a very interesting experience, yes it is quite tiny as other people already mentioned, but we found it to be super comfy and cozy. If you are older the suites might be a better option for you (the staff actually offered them to us for a good discount) but we were perfectly happy with the normal rooms. The included breakfast has a wide range of different dishes and definitely filled us up. The restaurant is a bit on the pricy side (main dishes are between 30-40 Ringit) and the isolated situation does not leave you many options but it wasn't anything we were bothered by. If you want to rent a scooter you need to do so from Kuching, but you are also able to get taxis via the app maxim.

This is an incredibly unique experience. The staff here, both those in reception and those working in the restaurant, were excellent! As we were travelling for a prolonged period of time we have used suitcases, when the manager spotted this on our arrival he immediately recommended a larger room as we were staying 4 nights…. This was definitely worth it. The area you’re situated is perfect if you want to get away and switch off as it is very remote.

The photos used can give the impression the rooms are a little bigger than they are. The facilities were good however they were starting to show their age through wear and tear. The closest shop is a 30 minute walk away so make sure you have everything you need before arriving.

The view and the location are wondeful, we saw every evening the sunset from our room. The bed was really comfortable. Then both pools were clean and nice. The breakfast buffet that they were offering was really nice diverese, every day it was a little bit different than the day before.

At the fitness room the only thing that was working was the treadmill, the otzher two things were out of order. Saddly at somepoint our toilet became clogded. And the Restaurant, for eating dinner, to be honest it was just okay, in total they have like 15 dishes and only 3 were local dishes?! and still the food was moderate.

Quirky accommodation in a beautiful setting. Staying in a pipe is never going to be luxurious, but we enjoyed our stay. We had the bathroom suite rather than the shared bathroom facilities, and if this is in your price range I would recommend this. Living in a pipe is cramped and only good for resting or sleeping, but it was wonderful to be out of the city in these lovely surroundings, with a pool and restaurant . We loved it although one night was probably perfect for us. The setting was idyllic, the view out of our pipe was beautiful, and the facilities were simple but lovely.

Just be aware of the limitations of staying in a pipe. For example, there is limited room to store your luggage, so it calls for a bit of organisation and patience. Also the lighting at night is limited so really the room is only for sleeping
