Incredible value for money during my off peak stay in January. Everything works really well in terms of room size, decor, style and friendliness of the reception staff. The hotel is a very well executed blend of old and new and absolutely lives up to the boutique hotel description. Super nice design details everywhere, amazing staircase, high ceilings and a sundeck and plunge pool on the rooftop. Reception staff were lovely, extremely generous with their time and provided lots of essential information which proved totally invaluable - location of various bus stops, route numbers etc. Location was also perfect, close to the yacht harbour and right in the middle of a wonderful old unique neighbourhood full of character old buildings. It's also a very easy hop on the bus to Valletta centre.

No breakfast options offered however lots of recommended snack bars and cafes close by.

The location is very good if you want to be close to Gzira and Valetta. The staff was lovely and very welcoming. The room and the entire hotel was clean and well designed.The hotel is built from 2 combined traditional Maltese townhouses, which gives it its unique look.

The bed was too hard and we could literally see and feel the springs jamming into our ribs, so something so basic wasn't taken care of with a good comfortable pocket mattress with good padding. And I know Malta has access to some really good mattresses I lived here ;) The view from our room was on a wall and we only had a tiny window that wasn't easy to open.

Great location and lovely room which was cleaned every day to perfection. Best part were the amazing staff, especially the lady on reception who we saw most of, very polite and extremely helpful in explaining everything when we first got there, especially with regards to how to get to different places across the whole of Malta. We booked knowing it didn't serve breakfast and the receptionist pointed us towards a lovely café just around the corner called "Busy Bee" where we had breakfast every day.

I cannot even think of anything we didn't like about this hotel during our stay.

Super clean, beautiful decore, brilliant a/c and bathroom

This is not a fault with the hotel but the location of the hotel is not ideal for holidaymakers. It was our first time in Malta so we did not know which location was the best to stay. After visiting, I would recommend staying in either Valetta or Sliema as they are the areas with more going on. The area of this hotel is more like residential living. You can walk to Valetta but it takes around 45 minutes with a very steep hill and similar time to Sliema. If I was to come back to Malta I would chose to stay in either of these areas instead. However, if the hotel is in the area you want to be in then this is definitely a great option for you.

It’s a pleasant place with very friendly staff - location was perfect for my business commitments, plenty food options around as well. Maybe less so if you want to have a beach holiday but that wasn’t important to me. Access to public transport is quite good. Once you get the hang of finding the right bus stop, you can get to Valletta or university area fast. Room was comfy, large, clean. Also very suitable if you want to finish some work. Building looks newly renovated yet retains character.

Only downside, is I could hear the couple next door enjoying each other quite well. But hey, good for them, and of course that’s what you get with a building like this.

We had a very pleasant 7-day journey in Chapter 5 hotel in May 2023. The bedroom met our expectations and the staff is really helpful and kind if you need any assistance or indications for your trip. The location is ideal because a lot of bus stops are near to fully enjoy Malta (La Valetta, Sliema, northern beaches and bus 41 direct access to Cirkewwa for Comino & Gozo visits).

A few points could be improved : the provided towels were not of best quality (some of them were a bit torn due to usure), soundproofing was not optimal, because a sole closed door separated our bedroom from the other and we could hear our neighbours (e.g. snoring). Also, during our stay, there were repair works in the hotel therecore we could not fully enjoy the rooftop terrace and it leads to periodic disturbance due to noise.

We had a small accident on our way and called the emergency number for the hotel, lady who opened was really helpful and even when we were in hospital she wrote and asked if anything needed. All the staff was really good. Place is in a great location, 10-15 min buy bus to Valetta and bus stop is 3 min walking distance. Room was also really good and really comfy beds.

The room was cleaned and bed made every day which I liked. The tea bags and milk containers were replaced every day which I appreciated. The ladies at reception helped me with directions and ordered a taxi for me when I asked. They gave me instructions on how to get around which was very helpful. The hotel was close enough to Valletta for me to walk which I prefer, but they gave me info on buses etc.

The sound of other people entering, or leaving their room on arrival, did tend to echo through the building, sometimes late at night. Maybe a runner down the hallway would muffle the sound. The neighbours made a lot of noise in the lane next to the building about 2 or 3 am. I don't know if that can be controlled.

Good location. Walking distance from important points. Nice small hotel, clean, nice rooms. Lovely lady at the reception!

The area around the hotel its not really clean. Lot of garbage on the streets.

Everything was amazing. We were welcomed by very friendly staff who gave us useful information for our trip (what to see, what to do in the following days). Staff is kind and friendly. Our room was perfectly clean. Houskeepers kept our room tidy every day. They left clean towels for us every day. Location is fantastic for exploring the whole island because it is few minutes away from the bus station. Our flight was late in the afternoon so we left our luggage at the reception for free.
